I was raised on this stuff. When you’re a 7-year-old in the school cafeteria and you’re the only kid with a liverwurst sandwich that’s been sitting out for several hours, you grow to hate the stuff.
Remember this is a Braunschweiger but it's a liver sausage it is different from regular Braunschweiger it's not as strong tasting as regular Braunschweiger and is not as strong as regular liverwurst. I hate liverwurst but Oscar Mayer liver sausage is super good. I can eat this stuff a few different ways one way is to cut it into equal slices and put it on bread with no mayo another way is my favorite way and that is to cut it in equal slices and lightly brown it on both sides and put it on bread it absolutely melts in your mouth super delicious. I live on the east coast, and they have discontinued this product on the east coast.
Mustard. If you put anything on Leberwurst, it needs to be mustard. Source: am German. Also, try coarse Liverwurst (not as smooth, has larger pieces in it).
Good stuff... But prefer the brand Aldi has... Alot more for the money.. $2.89 a roll. Much better than the John Morrell type. Cheaper too for same amount. I just eat it on crackers... My Dad likes it on bread..mayo and onion
My grandfather was German and lived off this stuff, usually sandwiches with mustard on them and some times sauerkraut too. As a kid I could take or leave it..I haven't had it in 30 plus years. Might go grab some tomorrow before the football games, if just for nostalgia purposes alone. Glad you reviewed it man, I had totally forgotten about it.
My favorite used to be the Oscar Mayer Liver Cheese but, its recently been discontinued. All my favorites are disappearing and the younger generation seems to eat healthier.
Was already wary when I saw some of the gross stuff in your kitchen, but when you salted it without tasting it-it is super high in sodium-I knew I couldn’t trust your opinion.
