The Slayer Cape should have the dual effect of the bracelet of slaughter and the expeditious bracelet, you can toggle which effect you want, then you can wear your barrows gloves instead . RSN gananondorf
There's so much they could do with the firemaking cape. Make it act like a tinderbox to save an inventory slot, or at least be able to search it for one. Give teleports to Wintertodt (would be a nice nod to the grind), or to the shades of morton minigame area, making it an excellent early barrows TP. RSN Charly Kio
My first OSRS 99 was farming. I thought it would be neat to get the cape untrimmed, and at least somewhat rare compared to other skills. That, and it was very afk and mostly free. I didn't actually know about the teleport but was so happy when I found out.
You didn't mention that the farming cape also puts you right next to a spirit tree, which is the main thing i use it for other than bank, to tp into my PoH and other spirit trees
100% agree. The spirit tree is a great teleport, and with the PoH gives access to whatever teleports you have in there. I can see how the Construction Cape is better, but the farming cape is pretty easy to get and can even be done in a money-making process if you focus on herbs and cheap trees.
It's not a change to the perks but I really really want them to let us attach our skillcape hoods to the cape like in RS3 to create the hood down look. - RSN CuteMurders
Im very new, what about non skill capes? The info in game for general armour is easy to follow but there seems to be none for capes - im still using a basic black cape as no idea where to go. Most of my skills are around 40 except a few still low like runecrafting, farming and construction
yeah lots of specialty capes especially for members. You'll want an Obsidian cape for a long time most likely, for melee situations. No requirements, and gives great defensive bonuses. You'll want the best Ava device for range. Once you get a 99 skill (especially 2, so your cape gets the trim bonus) you can use that instead, although I personally preferred the Mixed Hide cape for the strength bonus usually, until I got the Fire Cape. Fire Cape is you first real BiS cape upgrade for Melee, but it's a bit of a challenge to earn it.
A possible idea to make fm cape more competitive could be to make it burn stuff like the smouldering stone. Make it add to the effect of infernal weapons so it doesn’t devalue the previous item. RSN: Silent Sang
Most skill capes definitely need a buff. There is a ton of great ideas in this video and especially in the comments. I really hope Jagex takes notes because most skill capes are not useful and they don’t feel like they are in a balanced and good place. Especially in the modern Runescape era. Notably attack, strength, mining, herblore, firemaking, fletching, woodcutting and slayer. Attack cape could do a double accuracy roll with all attack styles Strength cape could provide a higher strength bonus Mining, woodcutting, ranging, and hunter need infinite teleports to their respective guild. Smithing needs an infinite teleport to Blast Furnace & giants foundry. Firemaking cape needs infinite teleports to Shades of Morton and Wintertodt. Herblore cape needs to act as an amulet of chemistry but not stack with the amulet of chemistry similar to prayer cape not stacking with holy wrench. Magic cape needs infinite spellbook swaps per day but needs to be recharged at wizards guild. Can still only swap spellbooks 5 times before recharging. Slayer cape needs to have a chance of fully recharging a bracelet of slaughter/expeditious bracelet and is stackable with achievement diaries. Agility cape should always succeed on obstacles. Fletching cape should be able to increase the amount of items fletched at a time.
You should be allowed to feed your agility cape Stamina pots doses (up to 100 for example) so you can click your cape for a stam pot dose. Make it real useful then. RSN Ronyo
if you are wearing the crafting cape, you can already enter the guild without a brown apron. i didnt know if you knew this or not becuase i saw you put it in proposed effects
RSN: Monarchs Own Add a blanket passive to all applicable skillcapes that marginally improves the chance at getting the respective pet. Exclude things like herbiboar and wintertodt bc those are technically not skill pets.
What about the Smithing cape having the same effect as Blast Furnace? As in using half coal or maybe even just 1-2 coal less per ore to make it more balanced? RSN: PoniThePoni
Honestly, this may be boring, but the Woodcutting Cape should have an effect similar to the mining effect given by the Varrock armour where there is a 10% chance of cutting two logs from a tree instead of one and receiving exp for both logs. RSN Ulrich Caven
They need give more love to skilling capes! Woodcutting and Mining should give a free bronze axe/pick axe, Firemaking a tinder box, and Fishing a harpoon/lobster pot. Either that or have the Smithing and Firemaking cape act as a hammer/tinderbox to save an invent slot
The Firemaking cape is useless after making friends with my arm as most of the dark areas then have a fire to keep it lit indefinitely. Even if they gave the cape some portion of the trickster relic from leagues to light more than one log at a time would be nice. Keep the vids coming bro, always nice to think about some of these things while I'm bored at work! RSN: Vladdamir
Potential FM cape buff could be having it count as a tinderbox so that you don't need to carry one unlimited teleports to Wintertdot in case anyone is crazy enough to go back after getting 99. RSN: MacAttack21
A guy who likes runecrafting, but hates on gathering skills... most of which now have fun mini games like guardian of the rift. I recommend you try em.
In regards to the attack cape they are already looking at changing the way damage works to roll between one and max hit for everyone as per the post on the 7th of December under the combat item adjustments section
The changes i would make : Agility cape should inherit the effect of the ring of endurance and it should be stackable with the ring. Make mining cape work up to rune All skills with a skilling pet should include a 1% buff to receiving the pet when worn. Rsn : x If this comment wins reroll and make someone elses day :)
Just started playing and hit my first level 70. Looks like my first one will be a skilling based 99 since I need money lol. Thanks for the content and Merry Christmas! RSN: Hathai Axina
I was just thinking about the benefits of capes and what they should change. One thing that made me think was defense cape, like a one time a day full hp restore like at max hp you practically already maxed on att/str/def/range, Maybe magic so why not a one time full health restore!! RSN This Dude cr…. Or let the mage cape teleport you somewhere! It’s a magic cape it would make sense.
RSN: Boboffmoney I would buff the fishing skill cape. Give a 10% chance to catch big fish like: big sharks, big manta rays for big healing. That would put a new interesting twist to it :)
We could change the way the Slayer cape works, where whenever you activate it, anyone who has max combat level without also having 99 Slayer gets auto logged out RSN: Jakuul
farming cape is like construction cape and crafting cape fusion. any activity that requires me to bank, i just tele to farming guild, bank, then take the spirit tree to my poh. its such a fantastic cape. i have a bank tele and poh tele for one inv slot and i dont even having 99 crafting or con.
Allow the firemaking cape to act like the fires you make with the salts. So wearing it in the swamp would keep ghasts away from you, wearing it at trollheim would not drain your stats etc. RSN: Da_B0N
The herblore cape could give you the same effects as an anti-poison as not to waste slots. Would bring it from never useful to at least a niche use. RSN:Ewboo4
Slightly biased here, since Hunter is my favourite skill, but i would really like if the hunter cape allowed you to teleport more hunter regions. Many of then are kinda niche, and others already have good tp options, so it would just be a nice convenience item while hunting. RSN Carnogospace
Would be cool if the farming cape, while worn, would act like a bottomless compost bucket so you never have to use that while going for the pet. But it could be a bit too OP. RSN: I am HR
Maybe add a XP rate boost / pet chance while wearing the cape to incentivize people to continue working on the skill while showing off their mastery. - RSN Cmac29
Coming from rs3 to osrs, the run energy is annoying af, considering there are no loadstones or other such tp's. I am nto even close to 99 agility, but i feel like that cape should probably not reduce any run energy. Would be a perfect cape to support any activity in the game. RSN: Got Cookies
Is not an skill, but I think the Quest cape needs a buff. Now it only teleports to the legends guild but it should allow you to teleport to all guilds (champions, heroes and miths), that will be very useful for clue scrolls. RSN Biotsky
I love all of these suggestions but I gotta go with agility to never fail obstacles because if I gotta do it then please let me not fail for the love of god. Crafting cape letting you store molds or act as thread would be so nice, or like you said rc cape acting like wicked good from rs3 would be busted RSN Gogetem4
I really, really hope they fix skill capes. It's really lame that you can achieve one of the most significant goals in the game but you often get nothing for it.
The slayer cape - should have the choose the slayer task, slayer master give it to you the slayer tasks list 1-5 and you take one from that list. RSN OneDayIBeMax
