UPDATE: - The "Can't Touch Me" Combat Achievement could benefit from Swampbark/Entangle if you don't have access to Ice Barrage yet. - Using Swampbark at Puro-Puro for Entangling Imps is a possible spot! (Dark Lure is also an option but the Wiki says it only lasts for 6 seconds?) - If it's you're first time killing Zulrah AND you don't have money for better gear, then going with Bloodbark and exclusively using Blood Spells will help a lot to increase your chances of getting at least that one kill for the Diary! Fashionscape is the true endgame so clearly these armor sets are only surpassed by the ancestral robes, but don't cost 100 mil.

maybe a good spinoff series idea is "should you grind?" basically going over stuff like void, barbarian assault rewards, nightmare zone rewards. and see if the time invested in those activities is worth the upgrade instead of just buying something better

@@jtommyboi there are places where that isn’t true though. Seers (I) is very useless as brimmy ring is pretty much as good if not better, void is useless unless vork / tob / (maybe) corp. torso isn’t useful if you’re an alt / have enough money for a bcp

@@slackbabbath1067 void Is the most overrated armour in game I disagree, i think arma is significantly more over-rated Other than melee both void sets already give a 2.5% damage bonus in elite form. Void does have its uses, specifically ranging against low defence monsters where a slayer helm is non-viable for whatever reason and very specifically for freezing at maiden (yes anc is better, but for learning tob generally atleast R and Mage void are standard, even if you bring a melee switch

I'll end up risking the full set, but you can get insanely long trips at scorpia with full bloodbark and sang staff. You don't get the 1.5% per piece off a sang staff proc, but freeze her up and scoop up a bunch of extra hp with blood spells. When I have to log out, pop out of the cave, sap hp to full off the normal scorpions and you'll be good to keep going when you get back. To me, bloodbark was absolutely made for her. Great video as always thanks for everything you do.

Swampbark might be usable for hunter, since you can use the normal spellbook binds on implings, but not ice barrage

How long does Dark Lure last though? The Wiki says it draws Imps towards you for only 6 seconds.

Bloodbark boots have the same offensive and more defensive stats than magic boots at a fraction of the cost. The downside is it has much higher stat requirements.

Hey man you’re my go to for boss guides, very straight forward and not complicated like some of the others out there. I’m more than a casual player but definitely not super good by any means. All that being said, you said you weren’t sure what boss guide you’d make next week so id really like to see an Arma GWD boss guide from you whenever you’re able to get to it. ✌️

Thanks man! I have Dagannoth Kings slotted for next week. Honestly, I haven't done much Arma at all, just a few kills to see what it's like. I'm not saying I'll never do it, but it would be awhile before I would get to her. I look into it a little bit here and there though.

Since blood bark has the highest melee deference for a magic Armour set use it at nmz for afk training. Fire bolt with chaos gauntlets and occult necklace to hit a little higher too

Great video! Thanks! I use the swamp bark while doing barrows runs. I have a mid lvl account. Lvl 83 with 95 magic and 79 range but my defense is lower. I like to entangle the brothers and then use the trident to save prayer. The defense stats of this gear also helps when running through the catacombs to the chest room. Since I have lower def I would take a lot of damage with mystics

I tweeted mod ash about these to see if they considered how it’s becoming dead content and maybe they should reduce defence reqs for these. He said he’s happy with where they are right now, which is sad considering all the work and hype they put into these hardly used items

Blood barrage with bloodbark armour is not a problem for Ironman because by the time we have access to BloodBark armour, we can craft an unlimited number of blood runes!

On my main, there is no chance that I’m buying or grinding either of these. On my recently created Iron, I *might* go after the Bloodbark only. But, as I’m going to get the complete Collection log at Mage Training Arena (Infinity, Wands, b2p + book), I don’t think that I’ll be pursuing bloodbark anytime soon.

One really niche use (in addition to the Seren fight) for Bloodbark could be trying to get a kc at Zulrah for the diary with no prior experience. Magic only with blood spells helps if your skills and gear are lacking, and the set could be useful, especially if your only alternative is Mystic and the extra defence could help as well. But it's still mostly just uncommon fashionscape.

Yeah it would completely come down to if the person had those better dps increasing options to use. Maybe someone without a lot of money (for better gear) who is also learning it for the first time could benefit from the extra healing.

i use this for fashion scape/bursting in a slayer task with blood burst, often dont need to pray in order to use it there and as a result saves a little on pray pots

I use Bloodbark at Barrows. Same def as Adamantite armor and increases kills by not splashing to much. I use Verac's skirt instead of the Bloodbark Legs though.

I've tried to make money off merching. Currently -100m down the drain (over a lifetime). But i Dooo remember buying alot of splitbark armour hoping I would make it on the hype train... There was no train, and I was waaay too late on the info. Thought it would be very good if you pk with ur friend(s) in wildy. Or just have 4 alts casting blood barrage and ice blitz on Bandos :D

I've had that requested a lot and I've thought on doing it a lot. I'm hesitant because I haven't killed a lot of Zulrah tbh and I'm not sure how to explain it any better than "look at the attack rotation sheet." I want to give it a shot eventually, I just haven't put the time into it yet.

I do have the bloodbark boots cuz Im still a bit of a scrub in this game moneywise with Mystic. Cheap enough to make it worth over the Mystic boots, with same atk and higher def.

I've had these sets on my ironman for a long time now and never ever found a place or way to use it, sometimes I like to just chase people down in wildy with em but that's about it :( Honestly if they would have buffed these to have some decent range defence and way higher magic defence as well it would be worth using at for example gwd, but 0 range defence and poor magic defence with mediocre at best offence, I don't see how to use 'em. It's just okayish (good for magic) melee defence, which you're suppose to have no trouble with anyway

I thought about Dks too but I feel it falls under what I said about GWD. You tend to get enough healing from Blood Barrage without increasing the % gained, and you sacrifice other gear/inv slots to bring Bloodbark. I went down to Dks for an hour and did Solo Tribrid in Budget gear and Blood Barrage kept me topped off every rotation.

I can see bloodbark being useful when facing a superior Nechryael while using ice barrage on them. You take unavoidable damage from the minions of the superior so this helps heal you up.

I would disagree in it being useful there. As long as you don't let the Superior within melee range of you, the minions won't be summoned. It's easier just to safespot him whenever he does show up.

Blood Bark is good for Bursting/Barraging in Catacombs of Kourend on the Nechryael's. Combined with an Amulet of Blood Fury you can essentially never need food, get tons of magic XP per hour and still make some money while doing it.

Blood Fury only works with melee. Besides, you really want prayer bonus gear there.

@@Astralism I recall it worked with mage, but it's been a while. Still, there's no need for Praying if you're healing more than they are dishing out. Also, not hard to use a few Prayer bonus items like Ring Of The Gods, Unholy/Holy Amulet or Dragonbone Necklace, coupled with Book of Darkness in the off hand.

@@Predalien195 Blood barrage is more expensive then ice barrage with a lower dps/ lower xp per cast. Its more cost and xp efficient to use high prayer bonus or high magic damage bonus with ice barrage.

I have to agree with the other people in this thread. Prayer bonus gear is much better since Blood Barrage is so expensive to use consistently.

@@Ben_Gates I'd agree with your assessment if not for the fact that Greater Nechryaels drop blood's often enough to help supplant the cost. That's just one area where it's highly effective however and that was a point that you seem to be missing. Abyssal Demons there would be another good reason to use the setup. Now if you were doing Slayer, I'd recommend going with the setup you mentioned but purely from a training and cost offset standpoint it's still perfectly fine to use the method I've mentioned and to great effect.

They're not "bad" for PvM, other options just provide better stats for the most part. The main component to look at I think is the set bonus, which tends to fall short except for a few niche areas. And I would say, typically, that if you're not safespotting with Magic, you'll be using a Protection Prayer of some sort, which makes the extra defense this armor provides irrelevant.

60 magic 60 defense req and still less accuracy than mystic, a low level armor Just... why? The extra damage always makes ancestral worth using if you can afford it

A viable area would be - Somewhere you are guaranteed to be meleed and can't protect - Somewhere defense is better than offense - Too poor for ancestral Anyway these look like design scraps from the Warding skill. I guess it would work in PVP but then you're increasing your risk for not a ton of benefit. Black dhide is better defensively as well.

Swamp bark can be ~decent for irons who are doing barrows with tome of fire. The longer bind is usually enough time to kill the brothers with fire wave before they move (unless you’re RNG is bunk) 👍 ...but irons also have to grind to get it I the first place....😭

Yeah they suck, i voted the other design on the poll and shocked that didn't win, also for Magic Armour that's ment to be Bark and 'Tanky' i'm disappointed that they didn't make it more chunky like Splitbark.

Both are junk unless you like being silly pking in groups in the wilderness and take bloodbark for the tanking if you get piled and that's about it, Still yet to see bloodbark in pvp
