I would check the power leads located at the underside of the motor armature assembly. The leads may need to be bent up slightly to make sure that they are touching the power contacts on the end cap. You may also want to double-check that your carbon brushes are inserted properly with spring and cap.

Thank you for posting your video. I ended up watching it as I was trying to see how to correctly replace my blade assembly that I accidentally removed before reading the instructions. I know, Dumb!! But I did learn to at least replace my blade on my NEW Oster Golden A5 Two speed. I whizzed through one of my poodle mix dogs with #10 blade, but started on my other toy poodle with somewhat different results - After Reassembling - now it seems like the hair is being pulled and not cutting as it was before. Her hair seems a bit finer if this could be the cause. She is not matted but her hair is long and combing is hard to do now. Any explanations as to why this could be happening? Any feedback is appreciated. Again, Thank you.
I'm trying to repair an old Oster 76. One of the carbon brushes has become lodged into the side. Any ideas how to remove this brush without damaging the internal gears? Any help is greatly appreciated.

When you put oil in the little ball bearing oil port how does the oil get to where it is supposed to go? And.. Your supposed to put grease in that hole with gear off. Put gear on after you see grease come out of holes. And put light amount of grease on gear. The way done here no grease is on gear.
I noticed that my 76 clipper sounds like it running slower, I'm not sure... I turned them on yesterday and while I was cutting, the pitch of the machine lowered. It's stayed that way since. i think they're also building heat faster and I swore that I could smell them. Now, it could happen that they need a new greasing, but I don't know if that has anything to do with the sound.. Could I have an issue with power output, or something along those lines? I haven't had them long enough to know what's wrong with them. Any ideas as to the issue?
I'm by no means an expert or anything, but there are two things I believe you should likely do. First a blade that lacks oil or is dirty is the first thing I would check, by cleaning and oiling it. The blade needs oiled before every use and after some time the blade can get build up of product and hair partials. So trying that first is a good bet unless the side of the clippers get hot where the bearing is inside. Then oiling those bearings through the oil valve is a top priority. The next possible cause can be lack of grease in the gear section under the plate you saw in the video or a build up of old grease needing cleaned out. Cleaning and regreasing would cure that.
