When you replace that front bearing, remember there's one on the other side too. Then, there's four more behind as well. If one's gone, the others can't be that far behind.
Always something that I had learned when trying to be educated as mechanic. The same for something that will effect the safety or the steering angles. I will rather replace both sides of the same axel. It might cost more, but better safe then sorry
I am not sure how this truck is setup, but I had a truck that bearings at the wheel hub and then another set further back in the axle tube. They all needed to be replaced at the same time.
Those trucks are designed so that water physically cannot get into anything besides the cab. If water has gotten in there, the seals are probably extremely worn or cracked.
Have you guys ever come to think of the fact that not all of these trucks will be exactly the same? That other people may have replaced the bearings with either sealed or non-sealed versions? It's not like these are fresh from the factory floor. Just because it's the same truck doesn't mean it's exactly the same.
@@jamespooley6626 Then it is confirmed. Dom is indeed the kid from Shrek Ever After all grown up. What a nice young man he turned out to be. And so handsome. Lol!
Dude you are so hitting a million subs this year. BRAVO!!!! Your videos keep me laughing!!! And today I really needed this. My shop build is on hold due to a gas line relocation, the flip car I got is not profitable, and my water heater is going out.... This was epic bro!!
Western the day I found your videos was the start a great trend! You never fail to make me laugh out loud! Dom’s dry wit and his reactions are hilarious also! Great times!
I'd have to say the worst part of discovering your channel is I have tons of great videos to watch but eventually get caught up and then have to wait for you to put out more. Spoiled myself by binge watching your constantly and now have to wait for more. Have a great day. 🙂
As fellow M923A1 owner I can tell you that the seal and inner/outer wheel bearings for one hub will run you about $250. Taking these steel soldiers fording (i.e. driving in a pond) pretty much requires a complete tear-down and rebuilding of all the hubs and axles. You probably have a bunch of water sitting in your axles and differentials. Would be smart if you, at the very least, drained and refilled the pumpkins.
I love those old 5 tons. Be cool if you got a 2.5 ton lmtv to keep her company.... mrap 3.09 diffs and swap the seats and you'll have a nice little daily driver.😁
Glad you guys got back safely and great promo for Doc P. “ great to drink and extinguish fires too” ha ha (don’t try it at home though folks!) stay alive and prosper boys!
Lmfao I just started watching this guys channel today and I'm already laughing threw the first couple of mins because of there humor. This is what we need more of.
MILITARY trucks are simple enough to work on. Thumbs up and thanks for sharing this experience, WOW'S!!! Well at least you didn't have a truck loaded up with gravel.
@@jesumachorro they're sealed to puddles yes, no seals on a 30 year old truck will stop water when you're sitting in it for long periods with water over the axles. Even with brand new axles and seals some water would likely leak past the seals the way he left it sitting in the water for the video. vehicles just aren't meant to be submerged, and if you do get it submerged you've gotta change many of the fluids just to make sure there isn't water contamination. Source, had 2 new bearings go bad with BRAND NEW SEALS due to driving through a flooded road, once. it washed alot of the grease out and the bearings failed a week later. I didn't even stop like he did, I kept a bow waving going the whole time etc.
You’re awesome buddy!!!! My 9yr old son and I watch every video y’all upload and you inspire him to be a Diesel mechanic. He wants to build a Camaro with a Cummins LOL keep up the good work boys and I appreciate the videos and positivity you bring in our lives.
