Hey everyone! It's good to be back making a video - in this video we show off our Second Sight collection! We have dvds, blu-rays and a bunch of limited edition box sets to show off, so we hope you enjoy! Let us know what you think of the movies we showed and if you have any recommendations!

Great Collection! Revenge and Upgrade were some Fun Films. In Bruges sounds like an interesting film. I need to get that Basket Case Trilogy.

Great collection Matt, Revenge and Upgrade are both great films, In Bruges is brilliant and Colin Farrell is so funny in it , i think The house that dripped blood is better than Asylum and The Changeling also scared the crap out of me when i first watched it all those years ago, it has a great story also, thanks mate.

Hey mate! Yeah Colin Farrell is hilarious in the movie, some of his scenes are hysterical. Good to hear that you thought The House That Dripped Blood was great, I'm sure I'll like it too. The Changeling has some extremely creepy moments, the staircase sequence being one that I vividly remember haha. Thanks so much for watching mate!

Thanks Jorge, glad you like the new background and that you got some new movies for your watchlist 😊 I'm still yet to see Basket Case 3 but I enjoyed 2 for what it was. In my opinion it's definitely not as good as the original and feels a bit more polished but it still is an extremely whacky movie that's trying if you've enjoyed his other work. The new backdrop is great. I bet it's amazing to have the collection so well organised and accessible. Unfortunately mine is in piles and stored in my office and not neat and tidy like this. That is however an aspiration for 2021 so let's see how it goes. As for Second Sight I have these titles as well. They are a great company and do a spectacular job with their collectors editions and I have been getting them all and have collected most of their backlog that I didn't have. They do very high quality releases and I'm very impressed with them and have a great range of eclectic releases. I don't want to be cliched given the title but their Dawn Of The Dead set is a clearly a new high mark they have set for themselves. Hopefully they get to do similarly with Day of the Dead. I also would shout out their Flight of the Navigator set, Walkabout set... Loved Upgrade and Under The Shadow as well (if you still haven't watched the latter yet get to it! It's a really great movie and not too long). Changeling and XTRO are excellent of course as are Asylum and House That Dripped Blood. The 2 German releases of Heimat and Berlin Alexanderplatz are also great (the latter I think is actually better than the Criterion release which I also have). Can't wait to see what they out out next! Great vid and we definitely need a full collection update shelf your type vid ... Cheers! PS as for George C Scott....my fave is his portrayal of General George S Patton in the film "Patton". Check it out if you can - excellent biopic of a very intriguing character from history.

Sorry for the late reply on this one Darren haha. Cheers for the compliment on the backdrop, it's a relief to finally have everything together and displayed. Ours were piled and stored for quite a while there as well so I know how you feel. Yeah Second Sight are really knocking out of the park, they've announced some amazing releases and the ones that are already out are fantastic as well. You're right on the money with DotD, it's an amazing release and I would certainly grab Day of the Dead if they ever did that too. I'm still thinking of getting Walkabout as I know it's one Sarah and I would both enjoy. I haven't really looked into the Heimat and Berlin Alexanderplatz sets but I'll be sure to read into them. Nice recommendation regarding Patton as well, will have to watch that one as I believe my father is a fan of that film too. Cheers for watching Darren!

@@amateurfilmies8844 if you are going to pick one I'd probably get Berlin Alexanderplatz to start with before Heimat which is maybe something to delve into a bit later down the track. You might not find the Second Sight Berlin Alexanderplatz easily though as I think it's now OOP. Criterion's edition is not quite as good but is still excellent if you are interested in delving into Fassbinder. Oh yeah Patton is an excellent film and you will definitely enjoy it! Looking forward to Second Sights 4k edition of The Babadook. Should be a cool release. It's not the greatest horror film in the world but it's still enjoyable and will be nice to see how it looks in 4k and also to delve into the book and supplements to get a greater insight into the film. I always enjoy doing that. Take care guys.

Hey Matt, congrats again on the new place! The backdrop of your collection looks fantastic. I only own a handful of Second Sight releases, but I really do love what they do. I just showed off two of their newer releases in yesterday's haul video actually. Collecting those two and watching your video is making me want to go and grab a few more! hahah

Good to see Second Sight Collectors editions get some love. The packaging quality is excellent and they have a good catalogue. I have Raw on preorder and am waiting for Host and Nightingale to be delivered.

Yeah absolutely, Second Sight are great and I thought it'd be fun to showcase some of their releases. I actually forgot about Host - I haven't seen it myself but I know Sarah watched it recently and she quite enjoyed it. It might be one we have to pick up as well haha. The Nightingale is great as well by the way, it's intense but a worthwhile watch for sure. Cheers for watching mate! 😊

Received my Nightingale and also have Host on order but need to go and pre-order Raw which I'll do soon (focus is on Indicator at the moment - just got 20 titles to go for a total set ! Woo hoo!). Agree it's great to see them get some love. I subscribe to many boutique Blu ray channels and it amazes me how little anyone actually ever talks about Second Sight because from a collector perspective their limited edition sets in particular are top notch in their quality.

Some great movies and sets there. Second Sight seems less prolific than the other boutiques but the quality is always of a really high standard. The Dawn set is incredible and I agree cannot be bettered. Revenge is a great film as is Upgrade, watched Upgrade without knowing anything about it and was blown away. In Bruges is close to being the perfect film and a must for any collection. I love all of Frank Hennenlotters work, its a shame he did so few feature films. The new back drop looks great by the way.

Yeah Second Sight do seem to be a label that isn't talked about as much but with their release of Dawn of the Dead and some of the other releases have coming out/been hinted at, I think we're going to see them rise in popularity quite a lot this year. Glad we're in agreement about In Bruges, it really is an amazingly written film and has a lot of re-watchability. I try to recommend to it as many people as I can haha. Yeah Henenlotter really doesn't have many credits to his name - I haven't seen anything that he did in the 2000s, I should check out Bad Biology at some point just to see what it's like. Glad you picked up The Kingdom(Riget). Classic Scandinavian mini series with Swedish Ernst Hugo Järegård as a highlight with His character Stig Helmer. Spooky and funny stuff with a lowbudget approach. I've heard rumors that they're gonna be making a continuation with Lars Von Trier in the near.

Love the new backdrop and it all looks great in my opinion! I love Second Sight but I only own three of their releases since they can be hard to get here in the U.S. I agree with you about the Basket Case movies and Henenlotter is a great director for the films he made. When a Stranger Calls scared the hell out of me when I first saw it and it's still pretty effective even though the first half is probably the most effective thing about it. Revenge is one that I've been wanting to see and will get it eventually. Flight of the Navigator is one I haven't seen since I was a kid and gotta revisit that one. I keep hearing good things about Upgrade and gonna have to see it. I never been huge on Asylum and keep hearing and seeing people getting The House That Dripped Blood. Lol I love Xtro because of how strange it is and have that same edition and it looks great on blu-ray now. The Changeling is a classic slow burner and that edition looks beautiful. My Dawn of the Dead set came damaged but I have a new one coming from Zavvi but that 7 disc set is worth every dollar for one of the best zombie films out there! Great video for your Second Sight collection!

Thanks a lot Sean! Glad you agree about Henenlotter, I think he's a really unique filmmaker. I agree with you regarding When A Stranger Calls, the first half is certainly the most engaging part but that's not to say the rest isn't good. Definitely check out Upgrade, I think you'll like it :) Yeah Xtro is certainly weird, glad we were both able to grab that nice edition for sure. Great collection, under the shadow is a great movie mate.flight of the navigator was movie I saw on the pictures and I love its, missed out on that boxset. The changeling still scares me now, great movie. Xtro 🤔( yep I need to bust an emoji for this one), it's a movie that I always think I really enjoy it until I watch it ( I own that boxset aswell) and I'm always left unsatisfied by it.its not a bad movie but a strange one for sure take care and have a great day/night.

Hey Martin! Yeah I really need to get around to Under The Shadow, Sarah has been trying to get me to see it for so long haha. Yeah The Changeling definitely creeped me out when I first saw it, I need to get around to re-watching that one as well. I recall really liking the house setting in particular. That's totally fair about Xtro and I suspect I may feel the same when I see it again. It was a very strrange movie but its quirkiness was something that I remember enjoying. Yeah I think most if not all of them are region B locked which is a shame for those who can't watch them because they're great quality for sure. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure 4K discs are region free which could be a means of getting some of their future releases should they continue with 4K as the did with DOTD. If you don't mind me asking, I would like to know if Second Sight is a legal company, if they own the required licenses to manufacture their blu-rays and if they pay the rights to sell them; since here in Spain we have a problem with pirate companies and their merchandise. Second Sight is absolutely a legitimate company! They get the proper licensing and produce high quality releases of movies. Didn’t realise how prevalent the pirating issue was in other countries! Thanks so much for watching, we appreciate it

You would be surprised about the amount of illegal titles that make its way into shelves, and the worst part is that a lot of people aren't aware of it and others simply don't care as long as they can add them to their collection. Hey Bob! Most of our purchases have been through Zavvi although we try to avoid going through them when possible because of issues we've had with them in the past. Unfortunately for some labels like Second Sight, they're one of the very few that stock them and actually send them to Australia. We did buy Basket Case and The Strangers through 'rarewaves' on eBay and sometimes they're available on Amazon Australia as well which is where I always check first. @@amateurfilmies8844 I get my Second Sight stuff directly from them. They always come shipped beautifully and safely... Unlike Zavvi which I also have had issues with .... And had issues getting them replaced (especially for more expensive titles like the Clint Eastwood signature set and the 4k Game of Thrones steelbook sets both of which arrived damaged 😬). I still use them here and there for smaller things but prefer to directly deal with the boutique labels if they ship internationally. Of course sometimes that doesn't work given licence rights. .. such as the Dawn of the Dead set which Second Sight would not ship to Australia. However I use a forwarder service with a UK address to get around this which I prefer as they take more care in their packaging. Same thing with US releases like Scream Factory releases and you can then get the posters and lithographs if you care about such things. I don't usually but splurge on certain things like the recent awesome Friday the 13th set. The poster and lithograph for that were very cool. Cheers.
