It's a great way to work. By the time your'e setup, the drier and flash are ready to go. Warming the pallets, makes a huge difference so you can get up to speed quickly and not have any under flashing issues. Makes the ink warmer too and flows out better.

hi, what temp do you heat your pallets up to and what setting is your flash at? love the videos
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 4 года назад
Thank you! I heat them up to 190º for 3 seconds. I have my flash set, depending on the ink, at 220-240 for 2.5-3 seconds. However, I tend to use 195-230 for my white base so it doesn't take a whole lot to flash the ink.
@Pat_S
@Pat_S 4 года назад
Hey Matt, what flash settings have you dialed in on t-shirts? I’ve been at around 250 for 3-4 seconds, 225 for 2-3 seconds on hoodies usually.
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 4 года назад
I have mine set to 240 for 3-3.5 seconds using a 195-230 as a white base. I just make sure I warm up my pallets to 190 for 3-3.5 seconds prior to printing. Thanks for sharing your settings!

Hey Mikey. What made you to get the Anatol over M&R or even ROQ? I never seen/used an Anatol before and would love to get your input on this press.
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 2 года назад
The features of the press (touch screen, 9th color lift head, step back, cycles, and electric options). I priced out M&R and others, but for the money and features, it's a better deal. Another huge selling point is the staff / service. They weren't just trying to sell me a press. Any time I have questions, or need anything, they've been there for me. M&R and Roq's interface, IMO, is a little dated.

For black t-shirts, are they bright print without flashing the white ink. I know you doing 2-3 stock without flash?
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 3 года назад
You only get so good of coverage only printing white, without a flash and printing the white again. Depends on the mesh count too.

We put a build up of tape where the zipper is to avoid it making contact directly with the screen and it works. You can also get some squeegee and cut them to around 6 inches each and place them on each end of the squeegee to do stuff like zipper hoodies or polos.
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 4 года назад
Nice! What I have for zipper setups, and button ups, that I need to install into an extra squeegee is a 2" gap cut out of a squeegee so we're not letting the screen and squeegee run over zipper.
@crumptees
@crumptees 4 года назад
@@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 I put about a 3.5" gap since I popped 5 screens on a polo job if you don't load the shirts exactly and we were running 600 PC/hr and I only had 3 sec to load a shirt 😬

When dialing in your registration marks and using the knobs for adjustments, make sure your left clamp for the screen is not engaged (locked). Otherwise your knob adjustments are not doing much. Clamp the left to see if your good, unclamp, adjust, clamp again. It’s pretty quick once you get the hang of it. Also Bella Triblends will burn. Off contact adjustments help with that. .06 for Tees, .11 for sweatshirts.
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 4 года назад
Thanks, guys! Same concept as the previous press. Just on the side, but you're absolutely correct. I guess I didn't show that in the video? Might have cut that the video down to keep things interesting. The press tech went over that with me during the training. Functions similar to the Javelin, only difference is it's on the side, and not back. Thanks for the help!
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 4 года назад
@@Brian-mp2mv Nice! One thing I'm loving about these level clamps is I can leave a job registered and turn the air off to the press. I can come back the next day and everything is just as I left it.
@Pat_S
@Pat_S 4 года назад
Yep. The micro is a bit challenging, especially on left chest designs because you can’t look straight on. Also, the knobs seem to move the print the opposite way I think. Another annoying thing is getting micro done, close the left clamp, and it moves.
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 4 года назад
@@Pat_S I've noticed it'll move a touch depending on how square / warped the frame is, but I've managed to compensate for that by making sure the micros are locked down then tighten the opposing side clamp just enough to grab the screen, so not a ton of force clamping. Then I'll go back, unlock the micros, and fine tune it. Even though you're supposed to unlock the left side I find it helps with that extra pull to keep things where they need to be. If that makes sense. With our old press, it has it's quarks too. It's just been a matter of learning those quarks and what works to compensate for them. I've found this true for any press. Our Ranar, M&R, Javelin, and our Anatol.

whats a good rate for contract printing ? compared to regular pricing on the print ?
@Pat_S
@Pat_S 4 года назад
helmet I charge the same. I use my same contract print price list for contract and direct sales. We make our money on that plus the garment markup.
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473
@mikeydesignssilkscreen473 4 года назад
I'm with Pat on this. We charge the same for contract and direct sales. The difference is we mark the garment up for direct sales to compensate for the time spent with the client. From that phone / email, ordering garments, getting the art, setting up proofs / creating art, and keeping them up to date. We also charge anyone who walks in with their own garments a provided fee and we explain to them that marking up the garment is how we make some of our money. If they're a consistent client that's easy to work with, we'll give them contract pricing with provided garments.
