You went for a road trip in Norway, and you rented an exhaust car?!? You could have saved a lot of money renting an EV, and had a more pleasant trip. Weirdos! 😉
We rented our car via Booking.com supplied by Sixt rental company couple of months in advance and we had no issues with finding a gas fuel car. There are many EV cars in Norway but still plenty of gas fueled cars as well so you should be fine if renting in advance since they might be limited in supplies.

It was actually pretty easy with parking in downtown Oslo; we just looked for the public parking sign and we parked there and it was also pretty cheap.
