We harvested our first ever crop of sweet potatoes. We will let them cure on the table of our Greenhouse for the next two weeks. Afterwards we will store them in a box with some Pine shavings until we are ready to use them. Thanks so much for watching!

I love seeing more of Mr. Heart in the videos, it is nice to see you guys working together. He is so kind, holds your hand as you climb over the bed, just such a gentlemen. We need more Mr. Hearts! Don't edit no more, it's better to see the whole "you", fun and all. "Grown man up under the bed" lol. You two are to much, makes me happy to watch you.

We harvested our sweet potatoes today from 2 raised beds. One bed had perfect potatoes. The other had several eaten on damaged potatoes. We discovered 2 mole crickets in that bed, way down deep as we were digging through by hand. I think mole crickets caused the damage to our potatoes. Between the 2 beds, we could have gotten over 50 lbs of potatoes, but only got 31 lbs. Still, we are thankful. Going into the holidays I won’t care how much sweet potatoes are selling for per pound. Oh, even sweeter is I started my own slips this year by partially burying sweet potatoes in dirt. God is good!! 👍🏼❤️🙏🏽

Mr. and Mrs. H that's a great harvest for beginners! Your sweet potatoes are huge! The proof is in that wagon of success! If you did not see any tunneling that could have been caused by rats or moles or voles, it is possible the grubs that you were digging out are responsible for eating the sweet potatoes. Adding Milky Spore to your soil will rid those things for years and not hurt your worms or soil biology at all. If you do see tunneling, then you will need to dig it out and add hardware cloth. No matter what choice you make, congratulations on your first harvest of sweet potatoes!

Once I found out about them, I opted to not use the raised bed I was going to start & switched to only containers instead. Best to empty & line that bed with weed suppression cloth or something similar. But luckily you guys got alot of sweet potatoes though, awesome haul! 👌👏❤️🙏

May this message richly bless you and yours as it has bless me. Many profess believers of Jesus Christ believe that the fourth commandment to keep the Sabbath holy was nailed to the cross and that we no longer have to keep it, while still embracing the other nine commands. Do you believe this too? The Bible says in revelation 22:14, “ Blessed are they that do his commandments that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Ask yourself this question: which one or ones of the following Ten Commandments do Jesus wants us to keep and obey? 1. Thou shalt not have no other gods before me. 2. Thou shalt not make or bow down to gpl raven image. 3. Thou shalt not take the name of God in vain. 4. Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 5. Honor thy father and thy mother. 6. Thou shalt not kill. 7. Thou shalt not commit adultery. 8. Thou shalt not steal. 9. Thou shalt not bear false witness. 10. Thou shalt not covet. Answer_________________ The Sabbath command is not only to be kept but it is to be calculated by the Time/calendar God ordained in the beginning of creation, Genesis 1:14. The sun, moon and stars are God’s True Time/calendar not that famous Gregorian calendar hanging on our walls in our houses. This split in God’s law must be repaired!! All of God’s laws, statutes, judgments and testimonies are just and true! We must do things God’s way or else we will be worshipping him in vain. There will be no good reward. God may allow the people that rules this world to enforce some type of Sabbath law to test people to see if they will keep His law or no. Already, there are Sabbath laws/blue laws/Sunday laws on government books today. Friday is not the true Sabbath. Saturday is not the true Sabbath. Sunday is not the true Sabbath, etc., because they are calculated by man’s time/calendars. The true Sabbath is calculated by the sun, moon and stars. So, do your research on what you have read in this letter. This information is helpful both now and future because we need to get back to God’s ways and if God should allow man to enforce a “Sabbath Test.” If such a test is allowed, may we choose wisely. Let us seriously repent of our evil ways, stop worshiping other gods, talking about one another, stealing, killing, lying, fornicating, adultery, disobedient to parents, etc., etc., etc. Let us seek God, read our bibles, memorize His commandments and do them, For God’s Kingdom is coming!! Repent! Repent! Repent! Worship Him that made heaven, earth and sea. This Babylonian system is falling, the Powers in charge are aware of this fact but they cannot stop it. Their time is coming to an end! Our time is coming to an end! If any worship the beast and his image and receive his mark, the same shall have no rest day or night and they shall be burnt with fire and brimstone. Revelation 13 and 14. Deuteronomy 5 Isaiah 58:12-14. Also, research the “Seven Noahide Laws.” I have heard that these are Jewish laws taken from their book, “Talmud.” The first law forbids idolatry and according to Jewish writings, to believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is idolatry and is punishable by death, decapitation. I have also heard that some of the USA presidents have signed this law under “Education.” and it is planned to be unleashed on all nations in the future. So, Research and see if these things be truth. May The Father of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you that believe.

Hi Mr & Mrs H. Good harvest. Those durn voles feast on everything from under the ground and can leave you food bankrupt . Then when the food they have gotten starts to rot, which is bad but does add nutrients, then the worms help break it down and they in turn multiply, which is good. I am interested to know how do you make pet food with them?

Voles and gophers would be your most likely sweet potato eaters. The best thing to prevent them from doing it again is exactly what you said you're concerned about doing. Dig out the dirt from the bed, line the bed with criss-crossing overlapped sheets of stainless steel wire mesh/construction cloth (they can't chew through the wire), SIFT the dirt to make sure that no varmint remains in it, and put the dirt back into the bed and plant again. No need to be concerned about the fluffy dirt; it will be fine - possibly fluffier after you do the sifting! Also ... to save money on fertilizers, have you looked into making your own Fermented Plant Juice (FPJ) - similar to Lead's banana water, but made using any/every plant scrap (that would otherwise be slow composted) in sealed water barrels (anaerobically) with water? When I saw all of the sweet potato vines and leaves that y'all cut away, I was thinking about how great they'd be for Fermented Plant Juice.
@truthseeker9688
@truthseeker9688 Год назад
Everyone needs to spread the word about FPJ and JADAM/Korean Natural Farming...it's several different fertilizers, pesticides and other garden mixtures that are VERY cheap or FREE...and natural. You can make your own, easily. I made a few of them and have used it on my tiny little backyard garden in beds and pots...and on our lawn. Time to get away from the Big Ag chemicals, folks! Too expensive and not good for us. Just search it on YT...there are lots of videos to tell you how to do it.

Deer love sweet potato leaves. Last year, all my plants died because of it. My dog loves sweet potato duck treats. Love your videos. Thank you for taking us along with you. Finally, someone gardening in my area.

We didn’t have too much damage right outside just south of Orlando we had no power for 5 days and lost everything in the fridge and freezer . A lot of areas had flood damage and wind damage . The south west had a direct hit will take years to rebuild there . Many people lost their lives . The Cajun Army has been a blessing to people in Florida giving help and support. We still need prayers.

Loved the video. You did great for your first time. If you use a long handled shovel to turn over the soil you may be surprised in finding more in the ground; some grow deeper than others. Yes, you were right, you can get more sweet potato slips in your bed. Next year plant your slips 1 foot apart.

You guys did so good for your first ever crop of sweet potatoes! Yeah, I agree either rats or mice ate those potatoes up. Boogers! Still, you got a very decent amount for 12 slips. I've never tried sweet potatoes either, so thank you for sharing your experience!

Yes you can get slips from all your small sweet potatoes. I feel like those are the only ones that should be used for sweet potato slips. And even if they are small they will grow large sweet potatoes. You can also plant a lot more slips in an area that large. I had about 12 slips planted in a garden bed probably less than half the size you guys have.

Yes, I would root and replant those slips for next years crop too. Oh, and give those grubs to the chickens. They love them!!!

I never ate sweet potatoes much until I was an adult. As a kid, I'd have them at other people's homes sometimes, usually baked with marshmallows on top. As an adult, I started eating them when they were just baked, buttered and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. That's my favorite way to eat sweet potatoes. A friend gave me a recipe for sweet potato soufflé though, and that has become a family favorite for holidays since then. I give my dogs puréed pumpkin with bone broth with their kibble, and sometimes I add cooked rice.

Hey family, St.Pete Fl here! The storm was a bit much but we survived 🙌🏾. One thing I’m gonna say is the fur babies gonna love y’all even more, I know first hand that dogs love sweet potatoes. I use to feed my fur baby at least 3 a week in her diet. This year will be bittersweet for me, this is my first time also trying to grow sweet potatoes but my baby girl is no longer with me she transitioned last year. Overall I think y’all did well for the first time.

@samwillis7265
@samwillis7265 Год назад
@@dharmaslife if you were following the storm you would’ve seen we were in the direct path of the land fall. Orlando actually receive what we were expecting to see! And if you look on the map it was actually Ft.Myers which is located right under where I reside that got the worst impacts, Orlando got hit but It wasn’t as impactful due to the storm already being on land!! You had to be here to experience what we went through. The news media wasn’t covering all areas.

Pam says- from what I have seen, any size potato will create a slip. The bigger ones put out more slips, but you saw the potatoes separated from the main vine puts out slips from itself. If you plant the potato it tends to increase the size of the attached potato, but doesn't grow more, that's why you plant the slips alone. Potatoes make slips, slips make potatoes.
