Missin you folks!!! How’s the garden doing?! We’re still here!😁

I would say in MA that it is going to cost you $1800 to take down and cut up! Yay! Also look to see if you can find elephant garlic! Looks like you have some good plans. We have to be careful, we get taxed on each structure, shed, log cabin, etc. I too want to put in a large garden this year! Now with the tractor it should make it easier!

It does get overwhelming doesn’t it?!? Priorities….survival…naturally the means garden first! 😁 Keep in mind also, those vegetables start popping and you’ll be gathering more than you can eat! That means preserving!! Yea, another challenge!! Seeds…another research issue…many of the things you’ll grow you can use a piece of to preserve to reseed with next year. Order early..really early! Bees are excellent to have but it’s a real learning process. You’ll be surprised how short time gets! Oh…flowers…consider forging!! You’ll see things, like the brown eyed Susan and daisies…growing wild roadside. Very often you can harvest those and replant.Hosta will takeover but is easily divided and disbursed…it’s extremely hardy! Wow…I could go on and on! If you can…focus on things that don’t fall into the ‘pretty’ cosmetic category right off. Those will come. As less desirable as it is, this year anyway, think about hoses to water the garden. When you have the necessary important stuff chopped down a bit, you can trench and run a frost free hydrant to the garden. You may also, when you get there, install some stubouts you can go back and expand on water lines to various other areas depending on what you put in. Flag where those are and then, when you want to branch the line, it’s easy to go back and find that junction to tie a branch line into. Okay…I need to get to bed…back to work tonight for my Friday 12 hour shift. Don’t get discouraged guys!! It will seem and feel like you’re not getting anything done but, pause..take a look back at videos and pictures and you’ll see truly how far you’ve come…you can already see it!! Old houses, neglected acreage…is always a lot of repair and maintenance so it may feel like you’re always chasing your tail…but your not. Patience…do like you are…plan what you can do in the winter and what can wait while you do what you can outside in summer, spring and fall. I can tell that you’re thinking in that direction so…it’s all going to come together!!👍🏻👊🏻
