Sometime, somewhere in a local restaurant here in Malaysia you can find a signboard that says, "If you like our food tell the world, if you don't like them, tell us". Really... you just gotta to know who your audience are and who the authorities are.
@Randomkloud

the sewers double up as storm drains and the grates are there for maintenance access. Any blockage can very quickly lead to a flood during heavy rain. The sound outside the hotel was probably cicadas.

Don't worry. 99.99% of us don't live in places like that. We all have running waters & toilets. Some people refused to leave to improve their life and choose to stay in places like that. That is their choice. But none of us live in such dire conditions. ☺

👍 there’s so many beautiful places in Malaysia, and when I say beautiful I don’t mean big mansions I mean lovely small charming places, we live in a tiny house back home which allot of people wouldn’t want to live in, as long as we’re all happy that’s all that matters hey😁 thanks for watching

@@truebluetravellers That jetty in Penang and for that matter the Batu Caves in KL, they are not meant for tourists to visit. Tourists keep going there because of its uniqueness and its charm where they can't find anything similar back home. Tourists, especially if they are the true blue travellers, must manage their expectation well. What do you expect? A 5 star destination every time? If I visited a slum area in London for example, I don't expect everyone to put on a tuxedo.. yeah?? They are what they are.

Yep I agree they are what they are, like you say it’s so different compared to what we see back home, I didn’t expect 5 star but I also didn’t expect it to be the way it was, my opinion is not meant to be disrespectful it’s just an honest account of what I thought 😁👍

Its good to hear from people who give frank opinion and constructive advice for as long as it doesnt get too rough. No point in getting hypersensetive over it for the sake of improvement. The sewerage system is not entirely great in Malaysia...imagine just outside the restaurant of a 3 star hotel supposedly the open area you can smell the sewers from underneath near the manhole .The services can also be a b**ch most of the time, thats a fact...lack of customer centricity in terms of speed and quality.

The windscreen wipers up is also a thing in Taupo in New Zealand in winter. There’s a mist that comes off Lake Taupo that then freezes the wipers to the windscreen unless you have them up. Apparently the locals can tell tourists cars from locals by who leaves them up and who doesn’t.

It is what it is. How nice a toilet can you get on stilts? All our toilets (human history) started as out house, or toilet on the sea. Even in the west. Worst still i studied the history of toilets...the europeans including royalties threw poop out of the bloody windows onto gardens and on the streets. At least in a hot country here, the heat and ultra violet rays from the sun killed the bacteria. That was why the black plague can be so deadly in cold countries.

20:14 It's the calling call of male cicadas to females, heard during the day. The sounds are loud (up to 105 db if you get close enough) and high-pitched, thus can sound whiney and buzzy to the human ears. The sounds of bugs you may hear at night are most likely that of crickets, whose songs are of lower carrier frequency and purer, and may even sound musical to some humans. All the best in your travels!

@@truebluetravellers We'll hang in there. Before you get so judgemental, let me tell you why I said so. Most travelers to Malaysia have nothing but good things to say about their food. You guys seem to prefer your own diet of local western based food. You are also judgemental about people wearing masks. In case you didn't know, the reason the UK had one of the biggest failures with COVID was because of two things 1) a government that sucked and 2) people that were too much into the bs righteous offensive that they refused to wear masks. The same goes for people from my own country. The people in America also had that silly attitude. So I'm not saying it's just an English thing?! For your information, I've stayed in almost all the countries in Asia, and Malaysia is certainly right at the top of my list for best countries to live (anywhere in the world!). It beats the crap out of Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and even Singapore and Japan for that matter when it comes to overall liveability.
