Our first camping trip of the year in the Boundary Waters. We stayed on the Kawishiwi River and had an amazing site next to little rapids. We had a bonfire and made s'mores every night and of course we did some fishing! I am so bummed most of my footage from the trip was unrecoverable, but I am happy to be able to get out what I could for you guys.

Just a reminder - this is Cierra's channel! Kyle still has his Kyles Cabin channel! I have changed the name of this channel a few times, but wanted to change it one last time to Skeeter Springs Homestead because it was more fitting for this channel.

Beautiful family and videos!! I'm so sorry, as a filmmaker I definitely know the frustration of having videos ready to go and then they are gone! People don't realize that editing a video can take days to do, not just one or 2 hours!! Anyway, I am looking forward to watching this! Thanks Cierra!

Love the campsites. Another thing I miss about MN is the super delicious fish! Northern (bones, but yummy & fun to catch) & walleye. Great video! Another bout of homesickness.

MANY years ago while I was a student at Vermilion CC, I spent many hours fishing The kawishiwi river. Many crappies, walleyes and Northerns fed my roomie and me.

It looks like you guys are in the Ely area. I was there on vacation from California in 1996. I went with my father when he was 76 years old. I caught a twenty-pound Northern on Lake Shagawa. I have that fish mounted on the wall in my office. My parents were both from Minnesota. My mother was from Buhl and my father was from St. Paul. I have spent a lot of time in the Brainerd lakes area at my cousin's cabin. I love Minnesota. Looking forward to watching your channel!!

omg, idk how I missed this! Thanks for the upload! Honestly, the "imperfect" video footage was very good. It reminded me of old-school youtube from over a decade ago - maybe you are too young to relate lol. We used to live just west of Blackduck MN! We loved it up there! I just couldn't find a decent paying job back in the 80s! The fishing and hunting was awesome there!!!

I thought I came up with tortilla pizzas! Peanut butter on tortillas y'll from NM? Funny story involving ducks. My mom brought my brothers kids up to CO for a visit so we went fishing, When I headed for the lake the sun was just starting to show over the horizon and there was fog up to my waist, all the sudden I heard rustling in the reeds, as there were black bears in the area I switched my tackle box and pole to my left hand and reached inside my vest for my .45 just as my hand touched the grip I heard quack, quack the ducks were also out on dawn patrol!

That was awesome, I do want to do one of those bwca trips. It's great that you guys are close to the area. I've never seen the squeeze peanut butter, maybe I need to look harder at grocery. Are you still having ACL issues? My knee just started hurting out of the blue, hurts to step up, and push off, sometimes just aches at rest. 🤷‍♂️ I am borderline geriatric. There's a food bowl/ water dish that wld be perfect for Skeeter. It's recommended a bigger dog's food bowl be level with his jaw when he eats thus all he'll have to do is open his mouth and chew lol. It should prevent him for having to bend his upper body & ft legs down when he eats check it out at ur larger pet store.tks

We used a thermacell and bug spray. They really weren’t horrible this trip

Thanks! Glad it was wasn’t too bad for you! I need to try the thermacell! We have a big problem with biting flies by the Delaware bay. The suckers start biting by mid-May and go all the way through September/October. I would honestly rather have mosquitos because at least they are slow and you have the chance to smash them haha
