My wife and I are really enjoying our Country Coach home. Thanks to you! You spoke about heat,, our Coach has 3 AC units that double as heat pumps and also a diesel fired Underbelly heater to keep all your stored items warm on the coldest days. Great video as usual and the Allred’s thank you again.
Thank you for your nice comment. Yes... your coach would be awesome for staying warm or cool with all that extra heating and cooling capacity. Thanks again- M
Thanks so much for this video. We are heading out to CS in October for fall break and after reading reviews on trip advisor I was worried about booking at this park. After seeing it in your video I think it will be perfect for my family! Looks clean and well kept which is really all we need.
When visiting Colorado Springs we stay at Foothills of the Rockies. It’s a no frills park but the ladies running it were super nice AND close to everything.
Hi I love this video, I’m going to love to live I. RV in future. Can you make more video about RV resort or campground. About electric, water, bathroom, laundery room. And market around resort. I Looking forward to see these. Thanks so much.
Thank you for your concern. Very kind of you. Yes, it has been quite a long break we have taken from RU-vid. We will probably post something in the next week or two. We are doing well. Not ill. Just taking a break and shifting focus for a bit. Thank you again for your kindness and concern. -M
We have actually had a few different sections of the subframe repaired over the years. We had one section repaired in NH, one in CA, and one in AZ. We just look for well reviewed welders in the area. Some are able to come to you with a mobile unit, but it usually works best to take it to their shop. You will likely need to disconnect your batteries and electrical system for the job, so plan to have solutions for your fridge. -M
Thank you! We are sure you will enjoy our RV Hacks book. IF you plan to do extensive RVing, you will probably want to check out our other book. Living the RV Life too. Here is a link. rvlove.com/book/ Wishing you every success and joy! -M
How is your rig doing being older rig? We are looking at an older rig 2000-2007. Not sure if we are going diesel or gas? How has yours been holding up?
Our RV is doing well. All RVs need repairs, and a twenty year old rig like ours will likely need a few extra. But when you factor in how little we paid for it, compared to buying a relatively new rig, we are likely still very ahead of things. In our opinion, pre-2008 motorhomes are generally really good quality, if well cared for, especially high end diesels like ours. If you buy new, you will pay more in depreciation, tax etc. When buying older, you probably need to set aside some money for repairs. If eligible, you will probably want an extended warranty. Great video! I'm glad you had the chance to stay in the Garden of the Gods; that's such a beautiful area with some great features. I remember doing a lot of great hikes and seeing a fair amount of bighorn sheep on morning walks (in the Glen Eyrie area). Here's wishing you safe travels, and wonderful experiences! Meanwhile, I'm running for re-election to the Washington State House of Representatives here in Spokane Valley, 4th District- lots of door-belling, debates, and speaking engagements. It's a great privilege. God bless you guys! Bob
Thanks Bob. Glad you enjoyed the video and your past experiences with the area. thanks for sharing your experiences. and good luck with your campaigning for re-election. -M
We stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed our stay. As you mentioned it can be a little challenging for big rigs. We saw a really nice Tiffin cut a corner to close and dent a storage bay door. I tried to tell him to stop, but the owner just kept moving forward. He was not a happy camper!
Thanks for sharing. Glad you had a nice stay there too. Yes, some of the corners can be a little tricky, but most of the larger sites are pretty accessible. Funny how some don't head warnings of others. I almost had the same thing happen this week at a campground. Somebody with a brand new 45' Newmar was driving through the park with a large basement door open. I had to make a significant effort to get him to stop so I could shut it for him. Had it stayed open another 20 feet, it would have hit something. -M
Yes, the coach would look amazing with a new paint job. We got a couple price quotes, but it was just too much to spend on a coach in this price range. We would be over-investing at that point. -M
AWESOME !!! you will be fine! I can''t wait to get out there. I am shopping now for a rig and looking forward to my first 6 months as well. I already have a channel and I am a photographer who also does video so if you need any advice in that arena please feel free to ask. I have achannel here it's small but I am hoping to expand and do more in the future. good luck guys. I am glad the pup is doing better. and how the hell did you spend over 40k in 6 months ??? YIKES thats a scary thought.
Julie's e-bike is a BLIX Vika+. We did a full review of the bike on our road gear reviews channel. Here is a link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hctfhZtwFJ4.html Also, we have been able to secure a $100 discount if you use coupon code RVLOVE. -M
Hello Marc & Julie!! Nice to meet you 2!! We aren't RVersYET but did buy a 1976 Minnie Winnie.. HAVE to gut it out tho. we almost got it gutted, then rebuild/remodel. the on the road we go!!!! Colorado IS so Beautiful Can't wait til RV is done!!!! LOVES/HUGS....
Question about dates and weather. What to expect in a mid October trip? Driving up mountains is not my fav thing but I love the views. Is this RV park very high up and will I hit too many roads with extreme cliffs? How do we plan for that using our gps tools? Any advice? Great video. Thanks for sharing.
October is usually quite stable weather in Colorado front range at lower elevations. Colorado Springs is not high elevation (by Colorado Standards). Roads coming in from the North or East are very easy, with no major mountain passes. Coming in from the West you will experience many high passes. Coming in from the south there is only one moderate pass at the Colorado New Mexico border. Our favorite route planning tool is RV Trip Wizard. Here is a link to learn more www.rvlove.com/rvtripwizard We also like referencing Mountain Directories to be well informed of steep grades and mountain passes. Here is a link to learn more about those. bit.ly/MountainDirectories. Safe travels. -M
Colorado Springs looks great! My husband & I recently put a deposit on an RV & are wondering what Internet, TV & Cellular service you are using? Any tips would be appreciated. This is all new to us :) Thanks!
Thank you, and congratulations on your future RV travels. We have cellular data plans with ATT, Verizon and T-Mobile, and we use a fantastic mobile router called a Pepwave Transit Duo that we got from MobileMustHave. Not everyone would need a system as robust as ours, but you can find the right solution for you with our friends at www.rvlove.com/MobileMustHave -M
I will retire from the VA next month and look forward to exploring our beautiful country as camping newbies. Your reviews are perfect. We appreciate the campground overviews and just what we needed in attempting to select rv resorts that we feel like we can visit and navigate. With the help of your videos and newsletters maybe this time next year we can report that we will not be newbies but "junior" campers. We are buying your book too!
Great! Glad you enjoy and appreciate the content we share. We have tons of campground reviews on our website at www.rvlove.com Wishing you a wonderful retirement exploring the country in your RV, and we know you will love our book. Thank you -M
Thank you for the update!! Will definitely check this park out! I do believe Big Bear California has Moonridge Animal Park, albeit a small Zoo of sorts, with lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Thanks for sharing. Imagine there are probably a few other small zoo like facilities around the country in mountain settings, just know that the one in Colorado Springs claims to be unique. -M
We'll be in the area next week to escape the AZ heat. I noticed the cover for your bikes on the rack on the back of your motor home. It looks nice. Is it special or did you just use a motorcycle cover like we do. Happy Travels! MatnKat
Great. Yes... it would be HOT in most of AZ right now. Enjoy the cooler temps. We have definitely been enjoying the weather in Colorado this summer. Our bike cover is just one that we found on amazon. It is meant to cover two bikes, and has done a great job of keeping our bikes protected over the years. -M
We were in the area last Sept but stayed at the KOA because I had read about a lot of construction going on in the road past there. I drove through and they were quite full and it appeared a little more tight than what I wanted to try and squeeze our 45 ft rig in to. We did have a great meal at The Mason Jar across the street one evening though.
Yes, we had stayed there previously during the major road construction/ bridge building project. Really nice now that it is finished. When full, the park could get squeezy for 45ers. Most of the large sites have good access. But plan your routes, because some of the internal roads are only good for smaller rigs. -M
@@Rvlove The only other thing I've heard about the place from a friend of mine was that they had a bicycle stolen. It seems like they get people walking in off the street plus he was there when they had a flood from the stream nearby.
Good day, my father just bought a class C he’s getting ready to retire. Who do you go through for your extended warranty, cost of it, and is it worth the money? Thank you I sent him your channel
Congratulations to your father. We wrote a VERY comprehensive blog post about RV Extended Warranty You can check it out with this link. rvlove.com/rvextendedwarranty Thank you -M
Great video, on the marijuana why is an essential is because of many that need it for medical one example cancer. When this calms down my wife and I want to explore this area. Once again great video
Thank you. Glad you liked the video. Our understanding on the essential service, is yes... in part for medical purposes. But also heard that when the government proposed closing them, the lines at the stores were so long, that they reconsidered. -M
We loved our stay, and really appreciated how welcoming they were, and how they took such great care of us and all guests during our longest stay ever in one spot. -M
Congratulations on finding a buyer for your house. Hope your shake down trip and future travels continue to only reveal minor hiccups that are easy to fix. Wishing you safe and joyful travels.-M
Thanks for sharing. We didn't need AC during July in our stay at Middlefork RV Park in Fairplay either. Colorado mountains are great for escaping the heat. -M
Hah! I just missed you guys! I left early March from my job at Van City RV there to head back East to GA/FL. Had to nix my planned raod trip w/my Dad from FL April-May but was able to go back to work at a small RV repair facility here in Lolo, MT from May through September 2020. (My wife & I met you back in Atlanta while we were at our Son's place in GA - right when your book came out in 2018! Sadly, our Black Standard Poodle, Zander, has passed from throat cancer. But we're "rearing" two new Moyen Standards - a his&her pair for her & me!) :)
Just missed us. We sure saw a number of RVs from Van City in the park while we were there. Fun that we were able to meet up in Atlanta during our book launch. That was a great event. Very sorry to hear about your loss of Zander. Just brutal to loose our fur babies. But excited to hear you have your two new pups. Wishing you every success and joy! -M
Hi Marc and Julie. Thank you very much for doing this rv park review in Colorado Springs!! We live over in Ouray, but our son lives in Colorado Springs. We are in the gradual ramp up (code word for determining needs and wants for a rig), but this will be a great option to stay in the area. And....it isn't too far from Colorado Creamery!!
I have a confession to make...We have never been to Colorado. It is one of the blank spaces on our sticker map! This park looks really nice and maybe if the worldwide madness stops we will make it there. Garden of the Gods is on our bucket list.
Hello you two... with all the travel you have done, it is surprising you haven't made it to Colorado. It is a really beautiful state (our original home state). Hope to meet up with you in Colorado someday, when the worldwide madness stops and you can come back down again. -M
Thank you. Yes, it was a wonderful place to hunker down. and yes, seems to be ramping up quite a bit again. Will need to find a new place to stay put for a while. -M
Thank you. Yes, the snow is beautiful. Colorado is so sunny, that the snow rarely lasts long. We like arcades too. And the arcade at this park is actually quite large. One of the largest we have seen in any campground in all our years of travel. Should have captured more footage of it. -M
No we did not get paid for this video. Just sharing our experience after being there for so long. We usually just do campground reviews on our blog, not videos. Glad you enjoyed the video.
The areas of Colorado Springs we visited are great. Surely most cities have some not as great areas too. But proximity to so much wonderful nature, and some nice attractions as well. We like it. Judging by your question mark... maybe not the same for you. -M
Julie's accent has definitely softened a touch after being here over ten years, but it is mostly still there, and gets recharged when she spends more time on the phone with some of her Aussie friends. -M
