Which German bread or/and bread with other food combination is your favorite?

My favorite is a simple German bun (Brötchen) with a cows bone marrow and lots of parsley. (costs 30€ each in Paris)

I prefer bread rolls/Brötchen over normal sliced bread with thick butter and strawberry jam 🥰😍🤩😘

You can feel happy and chosen if you still have a truly local, traditional baker in your village/city. The quality of the bakery chains is already dropping dramatically, but they are still much better than the bread in the discount shops, which in turn is still better than most of the bread available in other countries. I am French and have lived in Germany for a good 30 years, my wife is from Gabon. We and our kids love German bread just as much as our baguette, croissant and brioche. Our local, traditional baker in village is amazing. I don't know when he starts baking, but you can buy fresh bread and rolls from him every day from 5am.😋❤👍

Can't tell you my favourite, it depends on the topping. For sweet things like honey or jam, definitely some wheat or spelt bread with a light, crunchy crust and a fluffy, moist interior. For a heavy cheese or some smoked fish, more of a dense, almost a bit sour rye bread with a heavy body.

I have a wood fired oven in the backyard, and we also use it to bake bread. It works really well for Pizza too because it can reach 400 C.

Entschuldigung! Trotzdem Ihnen und allen Herzensmenschen alles Gute und ganz liebe Grüsse🙏🍀💯☀️

You can't imagine the smell of fresh bread 😇. And I love the dark bread crust. This is the big difference to white bread.

lol... This is where the original European genes are breaking through, which have been geared towards bread made from European grain varieties for thousands of years...

There are not ONLY wine sommeliers, but also for coffee, tea, beer, whiskey, cider, even for water, etc., but also for bread - especially BECAUSE there is such a wide variety in Germany!

I like pumpkin seed bread and there was once a bread with chia seeds, also very tasty. I once bought a muesli bread that didn't contain flour, but was made from whole bread because it lasts for months, vacuum packed, something like this actually lasts for over a year Grains (like a wholemeal bread), with nuts and figs or date pieces (dried). But I have to admit that I haven't bought from a small bakery for a long time. That would be an extra journey and of course costs more, like with butchers, but tourists and those who really want good products should of course buy where they are The best thing is to taste it if you want to get an authentic impression. But, for example, the bread in the supermarket or discount store will still be better, like the bread in the USA or Italy in the supermarket and maybe even sometimes from bakeries, if available, in any case it used to not be particularly good as a child in Italy, with parents on vacation, edible, but bland, no real taste, but I didn't think it was bad as a child either, nothing special and hardly any choice, only 1 or 2 varieties that are similar, today it may be different and there are certainly products in various countries today, Companies that come from other countries or through emigrants... and at least some of them offer just as good products or through locals who imitate it or even import products, such as German beer, sausages, basic ingredients... but German beer used to be there also more differences and became more adapted to mass tastes over time. Nevertheless, there are still many varieties and brands and differences. Pils, Pilsener, wheat beer clear or cloudy (with yeast or without) up to very dark strong beer, which can be as strong as a liqueur, but you can only get that in very few pubs/eateries and probably more in beer pubs and then they have different ones Regions in Germany each have their own breweries, local types of beer that are often drunk there. Bavaria is of course known for its beer culture and large jugs of 1 liter, in other areas a rather light beer, less strong and very small glasses (0.2 liters), wheat and 'Halbe', the usual normal beer... are always half liters Jugs, Pils often 0.33 liters (in bottles). Of course there are red and white wines and sparkling wine. The climate also plays a big role, the more sun and nice weather until autumn, the sweeter the grapes. There are countries where there are of course better conditions. Red Lemberger wine is very pleasant, there is white Riesling and a term for wine, I think it's called VELVET RED, whatever is in there was also very good, a wine, so there shouldn't be anything else in it, but whether that is a separate grape variety or why this name, I don't know, actually sounds like a description of the taste and that actually applies well to it. Maybe that's why these grapes were given this name, otherwise it would be a mixture of several types of grapes, but actually it should say that, whatever, I liked it. Oh yes, if ROSE means wine or sparkling wine, it is mixed, with red and white wine, or from red and white grapes, that just occurred to me. Well, I'm just a layman. Oh yes, of course there are liqueurs and schnapps made from fruits, pears, plums, cherries, mirabelle plums, raspberries... And in the USA the herbal liqueurs and schnapps Underberg and Jägermeister are known and are said to help with digestion. There are cheaper no-names of them and I have read up to 44 percent alcohol in such small 0.02 CL bottles. Maybe there are even stronger herbal liqueurs, but 44 percent is actually enough.

In the video, this is in Warstein, there is even a WARSTEINER beer, it doesn't taste bad either, but today it is certainly no longer as traditional as here in the wood-burning oven and a baker who sells many types of bread doesn't have the options , every basic ingredient and every bread, with different preparation in a small bakery (plus cakes and...), just like a butcher, even if you run your own slaughterhouse, some types of sausage, meat, etc. can be bought in the wholesale market, but of course more attention is paid to quality than in a supermarket, where more additives are used to keep the bread fresh, for a certain color... but there are also for Bakeries, ready-made bread baking mixes, so you can still make the normal rolls and breads yourself, but a lot of things are bought through third parties. But the process leading up to the finished product is still done by hand, and of course there are machines that provide support, such as kneading the dough.
