As an architect and a builder in a 3rd world country, this housing solution is exactly what I have been considering as a veritable way of reducing the over 20million housing deficit in my country. Blake, lt is beautiful. Can’t wait to see the decorated version. I love that the bathroom is not a toy size. Even the toilet room is roomy. It feels like a real home. You should be proud of your work. Mom Ps. You should build a Minnesota version. A nice long visit💕

IKEA will soon have an electric hot plate that can be hung on the wall or slid vertically into a cabinet when not in use. I think it would work well in your container kitchen. Also, your door between the rooms will work well to help keep the bedroom cooler when closed at night, despite the vents.

So much better than the tiny homes I have seen on YT! They seem ridiculously claustrophobic and possibly dangerous (those staircases!). Yours, while actually narrower, seems more spacious and airy because of the sleek design and thoughtful window placement and size. Love the walk-in shower and the climate-control system. I'm shocked at how good this looks and can't wait to see the finished & furnished version. Such good work.

Simple "hot water on-demand" gives you the option of the 45-minute shower w/o the storage tank.

I really like it. However this definitely has some contradictions. Full-size fridge yet a camping style cook top. Full-size shower yet a 4 gallon hot water tank.

Hi, just because you have a large shower doesn't mean you should waste water.. We all need to save water. But that large shower would mean that you could have a comfortable space to shower..

I do like the idea of moving away from a regular stove. Hot plates, instapots, rapid chicken-turkey cookers/ air fryers, toaster ovens, electric kettles. Small Kitchen appliances are really incredible these days and can cook food quicker then a regular stoves. Not sure how to cook cake and pizza, because of size. I think I would even enjoy a really large floor cabinet that has huge roll out shelves to cook the instapot/airfry/etc in. (Would need air vents and fireproof insulation.) But would be some sort of modern rapid oven alternative.

This is beautiful, but I would have put the entryway on the side of the house. This way you could put a nice L-shaped sofa. Side entryways for narrow tiny homes also make the place feel A LOT larger.

Can't wait for your completed and furnished video. I'm planning on doing a MAJOR down sizing and want to keep things simple but comfortable. I like the fact you are building this the most cost effective as possible. Most other tiny homes manufacturers add too many bells and buttons to add to the cost. Please keep the new idea videos coming. LOVING your channel!!!!!

Just finished watching the full series, thanks very much for all the good info cracking series learnt a lot about container homes. Living in the UK the insulation need to be double if not treble the thickness of the one you used in this series. A video on insulating on the outside if it’s possible would be great, thinking of the extra space saved by insulating in the outside.

White with grey wood floors to some is “boring” but to me it’s absolutely beautiful! The light shines and bounces evenly all over the home and anything you place on the wall like paintings, poster, family photos pop!

My husband and I would like to be New York snowbirds who spend half the year in Florida (where most of our kids and grandkids live), and I'm thinking this would work perfectly for that situation! We've been talking about a container home for years.

An instant hot water heater would be great in this house. They are small and you get continuous hot water.

Sheryl Heinicka that’s true however insta hots require a ton of energy so not an efficient heating source at all... also can’t have one with a 50amp service unless you do gas

@@ContainingLuxury You can consider using solar panels for providing hot water needs mainly and also as an alternative power source since the unit is small. In Israel, most houses and even hotels use solar panels for their hot water needs.

@@ContainingLuxury actually electric heating is always 100% efficient. What goes in as electricity goes out as heat. So it is just a question on how well the appliance is insulated / transmits the heat to the water. Usually on demand is 30% more efficient in total.. I have an instant hot in my flat which is tied to a max of 48A/230V - so that's definitely a big requirement. However, I can have hot water 60°C/140F continuously.

Love it! My fiancé and I have been looking for alternative living options in the S. Florida area bc of increasing pricing on traditional homes. I’m thinking about 2 stacked shipping containers will be great for us. I’m just hoping that build coding in the Broward county area will allow us to have a shipping container as a residence.

I being planing and researching for 2 months and the best option that fit me is 2 high-cube side by side. for sure will buy engineered stamped approved drawings, I will need it. The only task I will argue is the way you do the windows in the container (without welding), there is a better and simple way to do it with less material, faster and probably stronger, check the InsoFast website.

Im a Handyman I been working for almost 16 yrs now, I learn a lot about home improvement, whatching this old house which tv show I learn a lot of tips of construction houses, I got this Idea to build my HOME out of shipping container for almost 10 yrs from now, at this time is so popular everywhere, after I saw your video I get more clear Idea how much could cost to build some shipping container as living place. I though was a little cheep. but now taking real cost of materials is more clear to decide to build it. congrats I see you are a Professional Contractor good Job Bro.!!!...I will keep watching your videos trying to learn and cach more tip about how to build these Shipping Containers. Great design with attention given to the critical parts of tiny house design - light, storage, insulation, sound and ventilation. But air conditioning required at both ends to make sure stale air exits in the centre, where the toilet and bathroom are.

I really like the concept or the design. Very beautiful. But if it were me I would change a few things. One is a tankless water heater 2nd is a pocket door for the bedroom 3rd switch the shower space to be rt next to kitchen 4rth switch bathroom vessel sink area to be across the shower area 5th out another small sink in commode area 6th definitely a washer and dryer set 7th the area for vessel sink across the shower the upper part can have some cabinets maybe for storage A small convection stove and a dishwasher!! A good over the stove area. With all that how much would it cost? I like the streamlined design very much though.
