I have the same fans on my exb. At least they look the same. I don’t do big sends on hard packed dirt but mainly grass. I haven’t had any trouble with fans. But yeah I have an xmaxx and outcast 8s now and they both satisfy the basher 5th scale needs. You have the durability and reliability of HUGE sends with xmaxx. Outcast is a speed beast that has amazing air control but at the cost of a heavy ass RC that can put serious strain on components when it lands. As I get more into this hobby you understand how important air control is when stunting.
Always been one of my favourite machines.Sweet stunting Earl. Finally got a 4s Mojave,England only just catching up with back orders as per usual.Found it hidden away in the only hobby shop in my county.Never drove these UDR syle machines.Impressed so far after a couple of packs, liking the drive style for hooning around.✌️
i jump much higher and didnt hurt the fans. The best is to put screens on the fan. There getting massively being sprayed with rocks from the wheels. and you have a lot of rock where you drive. once i put screens on all my rigs, i can't remember the last time i broke one. Have Fun
I would try just one fan on the motor and one on the esc for awhile and see how that does. You could always keep a spare with you for a quick change out and leave the gearing alone as it seems to be performing perfect for you.
I say get rid of the motor fan. I’m running a 1100kv motor with a xlx2 and 27/39 gears. It never gets hot. Stock fan on the xlx2 is holding up great and the motor does great also. I’m telling you it’s got tons of torque still with those gears. Might be worth some experimenting idk 🤷♂️
I think you are good to lose the fans but keep the gearing the same. You ran it pretty hard at the end. The motor was still in the low 100's. Even if it gains 30 degrees without the fan, you are still in ok territory. Plus you will save a little weight.
