I grew up on UGK lived and went to school in Texas as a kid now live in GA. Outkast came along and had that flare and sound that no one could F with. We have to remember that OutKast is the group that got on stage and announced the south amongst a crowd of West Coast vs East Coast beef. From that point on… “the south got some to say”. Both major pioneers in the game…. F it I’ll take a shot.

UGK has more impact underground in the streets. OutKast was more mainstream… Bun was right up under 3k in rapping ability. And I’d take Pimp C over Big Boi. I’d go with UGK. I'm taking a shot as I type(2, maybe 3). First heard UGK as freshman in highschool. "Tell me something good"...IYKYK. "Pocket full of Stones" on one of the best soudtracks, Menace to Society. Outcast came out my junior year. Hardest Christmas song ever, "Player's Club"..I was hooked...maaan, nevermind, forgot what I was gone say..too much too write...just know I'm taking a shot!!!! Let's honest. Outkast is lyrically light years ahead of UGK. As far as all around content, again Outkast. Due to the passing of Pimp C, their is no more UGK. Andre 3000 & Big Boi can always do another album together. This is a bad matchup anyway. A much better comparison would be Eightball & MJG vs. UGK vs. Poison Clan vs. Three 6 Mafia.

@@jackstar6018 Born in the late 1970s in the South. Listened to all abums from both OutKast and UGK, and actually went to high school with OutKast (Andre Benjamin & Antwan Patton) in the early 1990s. Also, have family in Houston and visited family frequently. Best believe, as a duo, OutKast is lyrically light-yesrs ahead of UGK and has way more content. On the real, UGK vs. OutKast is not good comparisons anyway. UGK vs. Eightball & MJG is a better comparison and then, Eightball & MJG has the edge on UGK.

Living in Philly I never heard of them in the 90’s period, but down south artist like Ghetto Boys, Scarface as a solo artist, OutKast and Juvenile got crazy spins. It’s all good cause when I went to the Army, my homies from Houston didn’t listen to the up orthopedic shit I liked either 😂.
