@@alvincotson2267 referring to the song. "Ask dat boy skip, that nigga Bun ripped." And he damn sure did. I would have left the studio if I had to come behind him on that track!
at first listen of that song. u might be amazed at pimp c verse. but damn once bun b verse is over, you gotta close your mouth from hangin open. holy moly.
Pimp was already doing solo tracks between "88/89", he could rap, sing verses/hooks, and produced beats along with strong personality! Total package of an Musician! #UGK4Life.
@@VC9wrwiimo luv 3 stacks but he still hasn't put out an actual Rap/HipHop solo album!, and lyrically I like Bun's verses more than 3 stacks, go listen to "Tough Guy".
I've always felt that both Andre3000 and Mos Def got bored with rap music. That's why they took their long hiatuses. Those guys are truly artists, because if they're not feeling it, they're not doing it.
Both of them spoke on why they're not active like the artists constantly in rotation now. Has nothing to do with boredom. Mos was aggravated with how the industry is being run and Andre 3000 feels the listeners that have been integrated into Hip Hop NOW pick apart the artists lyrics just to demonize and vilify them because they're not saying anything "politically correct." He also feels what he has to say isn't hip enough for an indoctrinated crowd that only cares about trap music and "don't offend me" liberals.
@@p-jaywade1333 Andre said in an interview that he can’t keep up with todays sound. So boredom does play a role as to why he won’t put out his own stuff.
@@ProfessorCDO I don't see it as boredom per se. Lack of creativity is more like it, and I can understand it, because I was the same way listening to mumble and trap music. It's not inspiring. He needs to stop focusing on mainstream artists and look at others like Corey Gunz, David Bars, and mix psychedelic neo soul funk artists like Lionbabe. Something with some soul. Rapper like him would make a killing if he performed and marketed his music overseas. U.S. pop culture is done when it comes to veteran artists.
Actually 3000 said that the reason he doesn’t make music anyone is because he doesn’t want to know as the old rapper making music. And that when he does make a song he’ll let his son listen to it and get his opinion and if his son didn’t co-sign it then he won’t release it
I feel what he's saying... it's like, he know he has cold shit, but he doesn't want to try to prove it to anyone... either you fuck wit him or you don't.
I feel that Pimp C doesn't get enough credit (or any credit) as one of the best southern rappers of all-time. His verse on International Players Anthem really touched me.
He is definitely my favorite Rapper of all time! One of the best all around musicians ever. However he could not be the best because Bun B was a way better lyricist than Pimp. However lyrics alone don’t get you number 1. Pimp just had a way with his style and the way he presented himself. Definitely one of kind and to not be duplicated for sure. 🎯 💯
Crazy how Bun talked about Ceelo’s Cell Therapy verse because I always say that verse is a top 10 rap verse of all time to me. If you don’t know, go back & listen then go back & understand it. Flawless
After reading your comment I listened as well. He said some thought provoking words for sure. I couldn’t see it as a top 10 for me but I’m sure it resonates with you for your own reasons. Thanks for mentioning it regardless!
3000 and Prince both Gemini ♊️‘a like Bun spoke about Pimp C and those instruments. Prince played like 22 instruments and 3000 plays a lot as well. He’s by far my favorite
8ball in my opinion is the most underrated solo artist of all.. That lost album is a true master piece.. Ball did so many productive albums, and collaborated with various artist..
Yea hey ya became bigger than the group.. all mainstream shows like Regis etc used heys for ratings n never wanted to hear big side When he stopped performing n let big boi eat They were seen less n less on certain shows
I used to think Andre 3000 and Cee lol were the greatest lyricist in the South. 3k's verse on Thought Process and Cee Lo's verse on Goodie Bag are verses I'll never forget along with Bun's Murder verse and Pimp C's verses on Hi life and Diamonds and Wood.
Ridin Dirty is one of my favorite southern albums. Pimp C's verses on Good Stuff, Ridin Dirty & Diamonds and Wood are my favorites!🌌🙏🏾 #LongLiveThePimp
I heard PIMP C say in an interview once that his greatest verses was on Diamonds & Wood . I have always said that myself. He really outshined Bun on that song. And that's saying a lot. 👑👑🐐🐐🔥🔥
We need more from Cee-Lo & 3000 #cohabitations..... The best joint till this day is ✊🏾Liberation✊🏾.... That Trax touches my Soul everthime is hear it!!!
People talk about how the south running the rap game now, yes maybe in a commercial sense they are. But the golden era for talent was about 1993 to 2003. Bun, Ball, MJG, 3000, Big Boi, Cee lo, Face, Tip, Wayne, and Luda all rapped unbelievably during that span. Folks just wasn't listening if they said we didn't have MC's spitting real bars back then.
A lot of people will say now they always listened to south rappers but the truth is a people weren't fucking with south rappers like Face, Ugk Ball & G, Trick Daddy, Cash Money etc... especially in the early 90s
@Jack Tripper U right some dude was telling me how much he loved UGK and he started by saying how tight International Playas Anthem was. No real UGK fan starts off with that
Arguably one of the most underrated verses of all time, the man said he pretty much wrote it last minute, and to be a murder… advise anyone whether you heard it or not go back and take another listen
Bro that Murder song by Bun B was STR8 fire I don't think he got a lot of credit for that song and it sounded like a freestyle to me but a very good freestyle.
I will say that Bun B is a southern hip-hop legend today, but I understand what he is saying that Bun B he was never a solo artist until he released his solo debut album in 2005 called Trill which is still a classic album today.
Ya'll having a nice convo. You can't say Nino without saying Wicked! Those different styles to the music is what makes a group the shyt! Some have more flair and appeal, but you become a group because you notice the greatest in all. Salute Bun B & B High on his platform.
It would be nice though to have an old school collaboration album with 3000, Big Boi, Bun, Ceelo, Goodie Mob, Ball and MJG just for the south one time while these fellas still here.
Bun B said it perfectly. Wick seems to like to paint the picture like 3 stacks can't without Bib Boi. Big Boi is easily top 10 of all time rapping,. But everyone wanna hear 3k. That should tell you something in itself
I was juxx tellin a new homie I juxx met bout that money… I’m only 25, a lot can happen so when you do get some money buy everything you “NEED” first then have fun.. I’m barely makin money now.. got me a fiye ahh studio tho. An I’m happy🤷🏿♂️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
