"Blue Ribbon" is the best translation IMO. Hence the logo being a blue ribbon. Probably from blue ribbons being what classic first prize medals in a lot of sports are presented with.

That reminds me of Carl Michael Bellman's "Stolta stad" (Proud City) essentially describing a walk in late 18th century Stockholm with the protagonist hearing and speking german mixed up with the swedish language. Apperantly germans was a common sight in our port cities of the time.

Got jealous for neighbours in the west. We had blå band products in Finland too, but now our 24h ration is just horrible. We don't have a proper outdoor company making rations, but a supplier that buys the cheapest shit you can and combines that into one bag.

@@Sm1rre1 as much as a political nightmare it would be i do think it would be a good idea to make a USS(United States of Scandinavia) type of deal between finland, sweden and norway. i suppose denmark too otherwise norway would be sad but no iceland as they are just too bloody far for that to be of use.

From what I’ve heard the Swedish military rations are based off of civilian survival rations so that why you see everything branded and not that greensish grayish look to the packages

@@Chris09978 When I did my military service in the 90:s we ate food canned from the 60:s. Our military today is getting the best food possible. I order alot of this stuff in my civilian life hinking in the woods summertime or snowmobiling in the wintertimes. I Love it, excellent food!

A tip when you need a translation, and hearing how its pronounced. Go to Google Translate, choose Swedish (or any other) in the left box, write what you want to hear, then click the speaker. Works decently with most languages.

Bodylab should sponsor you. It's actually a danish brand, but they have a company in Sweden also. I would recommend you to use milk with your strawberry proteinshake, just tastes alot better.... kind of like a McDonalds millkshake. I hope you get to taste their Choklad banana protein or their Ice Coffee protein (Mixed with milk ofc).

Great video! Å sounds like ou in bought. Blå Band is a very known in Sweden, started 1951 with instant soup which got very popular for campers and hikers. Wish you a great 2021

Mint chocolate is awesome, I would love to find that in a ration pack. Not done a whole Swedish pack myself yet but I've had the Bla Band meals, they are awesome. If that protein powder is that good I will have to get some. A video with your buddies reactions is an awesome idea. Go for it.

Perhaps the rations have changed since I was in the army but in a 24 hour pack the only thing we ever had back then which is in this pack was the Blå Band packs (3) and the unsalted nuts, the rest were different brands and no way any Whey. Some protein bars, a few sugar candies, some gums, dried coffee and biscuits. We had 2 different packs, one with blue band and one with what we called green packs from a Norwegian company,

Excellent video, hope you enjoy some swedish rations. The letter å or capital Å is prononced like the english word "awe". "I watched in awe of all the food sent." The swedish pronunciation of the word "band" would more resemble the english "bundle", without the -le of course. So a decent approximation would be "blawe bund". :)

Hi am Swedish and you should try out red salmon with boiled potatoes that is a Blå Band product is so tasty that you should sitt down in a comfortable sofa or something because red salmon has sutch a Magic taste with mushroom sausage with "Lingonsylt" that is like a dream come true.

Used to eat those Blå Band rations during my military service. Some of them were not that great, but curry chicken was pretty awesome. But hey, they did their job. Got my stomach filled and a little nice warm feeling going through my body after eating a warm meal.

The Yorkshire pack would consist of 'Yorkshire Pudding' first and foremost. With Roast Beef or Roast Lamb and Roast Potatoes. Carrots, Peas & another 'seasonal' vegetable. Topped of course with Onion Gravy. Like your vids.

Blå Band means literally Blue Ribbon. They make a lot of instant stuff. Like cup of soup & sauces. Their bearnaise I actually like more than supposedly higher quality stuff. When I was in the Air Force we never got luxury packs like the ones you get. It was stand in line with our "filthy jars" and get a slab of whatever in the field ;)

Korma isn't necessarily mild, there are at least a couple of million variations of korma, but yes they can be a bit milder than other Indian dishes, especially if you order korma in Europe or the US, then it is usually very mild.

Great ration! Try typing the Swedish term (blå) into Google translate and then use the pronounce function there to hear it said out loud. You can also practice your Korean there in the remaining days ;-).. Google tells me "blå band" means "blue ribbon", so high-class stuff.

The Google translate pronunciation of Swedish isn't recommended since it is known to butcher the words quite a bit, but the Swedish Å is pronounced like the o in more. So it's not so hard to pronounce for English speakers. 👍

Peanuts, raisins, and chocolate chips. That's "jägargodis". Or "ranger candy". Total classic for Swedish conscripts back in the day. Also total classic for hikers in Sweden. Always bring a plastic bag of your own mix when outdoors! When you work hard, you sweat a lot, so the salty peanuts are perfect. And you need sugar, which you get from the raisins. The chocolate I'm not sure if it's good for anything, but it makes the mix taste so much better! 😀

"Blå band" translates to "blue ribbon" and this brand is very common to see in our food stores in Sweden. I don't know how to tell you to pronounce the letter "å" because I don't think Americans have a sound like it in its language. It's almost like the the pronunciation of "oh" in American English.

I guess it depends on where you are from. The O in "Ore" is a better example imo or the o in "more". Usually the example brought up is the word "awe".
