how many feet of base plate can you remove at one time? Since it is holding up the roof I am thinking no more than 36" (two studs) ? or did you build a temp wall to support the ceiling roof?

@usmcgunz1066 3 месяца назад
I didn’t have more than one “floating stud” at a time. I believe the longest run of base plate I replaced at a time was no more than 30”. If I were to have 2 or more “floating studs”, I would’ve added some sort of temporary support. Thanks for watching and commenting!

What year's the mobile? Im facing doing this in a 74. I have holes i can see the outside! Yes i live in it. I could keep the spray foam industry in business lol. I may have a year..maybe 20 idk. But i know i cant affort replacing the ole gal and i aint movin. Its all paid for. May be easier get 2×8s and jack up and cinderblock support it all. Idk?

I live remote Alaska, my old cabin is basically built with duct tape, spray foam, cinder blocks, bottle jacks. Etc!

Is the original bottom plate a 1x4 ?
@usmcgunz1066
@usmcgunz1066 9 месяцев назад
Yes. In these older mobile homes that’s what you get - 1x4 bottom plates. 😬

@youknow1334 - I assume you’re talking about J’ville, NC? If so, I was there late 90’s - early 2000’s. Been in South MS since ‘01.
