Love this Box Office series! You blokes have made it so interesting and also very entertaining- good banter and humour . Some very clued up blokes here and know their subject. Good Onya.🏉💪
Great program, thx guys. The best part for me as a 60 year old Bok supporter is that I can see, hear and be involved with this program. Great to be able to listen to and see these exceptional player as when I was a young man this was not possible. There were no programs like this. Thank you for doing this. Keep it going please. PS - I like the saying "Preparation beats pressure"!! I am in aviation as an AME and that speaks to me like " Train hard to fight easy"! Cheers chaps !
Skill, Prep and hardwork puts you in the position that when you do have some luck it tips it to your side, you have to deserve it first, you have to pitch up, Carpe Diem... Boks worked hard for what they got, harder than any other team in the WC. The odds were stacked against them and they still overcame them. 2% luck 98% hardwork!
Well bugger me. If only some of the other teams had cottoned to that idea earlier Cos most of them don’t worry about skill, prep until the day before the game 🤣🤣😜
@@richardgrant418 How about this: the hardest pool in history, with games against Scotland, Romania and Ireland in just 13 days. Then a quarter final against the host nation and arguably the best French team in history, a semi-final against a fully-rested England team in their sort of conditions, and then a final against New Zealand with only 6 days to prepare compared to the latter’s 7. And to top it all off, they had to do it without their first choice hooker for most of the tournament and no hooker at all for the entirety of the final. And don’t even get me started on the media firestorm about Tom Curry and the threat of Bongi possibly not being allowed to play in the semi-final mere days before kickoff. Oh, and the threats and abuse from the French towards our players and their families and the fact that the whole country of France turned against us after the quarters. The odds were stacked against them before the tournament started and only increased week after week, but still they prevailed.
@@DavyBrando perfectly said, the boks are the only team ever that needed to play against ALL top 6 ranked teams and we won 5 and only lost to Ireland due to poor conversion kicking (like All Blacks did in final but can't take responsibility for it). I have huge amount of respect for Rassie and the Springboks. Bravo.
Great analysis. JohnDV's comment about ZA as a team sums it for me. The Boks have an inner confidence that only NZ can match and if necessary you felt that if Rassie put Ox at scrum half, he would have done a job. They were probably helped by the stop/start feature of the final with many TMO/ref inputs but it was the Boks coaches who were smart enough to note that this is the way games are going so they could afford to load up the bench as the pack would get the chance to catch their breath. I was very surprised that Pollard and Ma were initially left out and think there cant be a person on the planet who feels for Andre Esthuizen who cant even get a starting place.. France and Ireland have some great talent but I seriously doubt that either of them could have completed the RWC schedule that the Boks did... Fantastic.. (Im English by the way)
On your comments I can read that you are a white person ONLY refering to the WHITE'S. Rassie Erasmus is a RACIST WHITE COACH who plays a game plan that ONLY suits his OVERATED and HAS BEEN WHITE players. Pollard is a Plodder by comparison to the skills of MANIE LIBBOK. ONLY you WHITE people will celebrate a lucky 12-11 win helped by the match officials. We beat the SAME All Black team at Twickenham by 35-7 with no penalty kicks at goal, why did he changed the game plan, to accommodate the likes of Pollard and le Roux. I have learnt that you can not reconcile with a RACIST enjoy your WORLD CUP but like we fought against APARTHEID we will fight against Racists like RASSIE ERASMUS
Deon Fourie... I have seen brilliant SA rugby players in the past. Schalk Burger, Naas Botha, Duane, Brayn, Andre Joubert, Handre, François Pienaar and Co.. But Deon, I need to meet you. At 37 doing what u did... WOW
Before the France v Boks QF Game I prayed 🙏🏻 WE WON BY 1 POINT. Before the England v Boks SF Game I prayed 🙏🏻 WE WON BY 1 POINT Before the New Zealand v Boks WCF I prayed 🙏🏻 We won by 1 point. MORAL TO THE STORY: South Africa as a nation NEEDED a miracle to lift the spirits of the nation 😢 Siya, Bongi, Cheslin and a number of Boks are Christians ✝️ The hand of the Lord has been on this team for a while and yes, like in 1995 when we needed a miracle, the Lord has provided ✝️🙏🏻
What South Africa needs to lift our spirits is a Springbok team that is REPRESENTATIVE of every Race in this COUNTRY. White Coaches is biased towards White players when it comes to the selection of the Springbok team, and White fans still thinks we live in the APARTHEID era as if the players of colour can't PLAY RUGBY.
We beat the same All Black team by 35 - 7 when the team was More REPRESENTATIVE of ALL SOUTH AFRICANS, in the Final we were represents by the Minority that's why we struggled and can ONLY thanks the match officials.
What are you talking about a Nation 23 men squad in the final with 17 of them WHITE enjoy your WORLD CUP. The Springbok emblem MUST go it's an APARTHEID emblem
Nah man, many of them are cool. And for real salt you got to drink French tears. They still crying about ‘95. We gonna be drinking their tears for the next 20 years
What about Neil Powell? He built exceptionally strong systems in the Blitzies over his tenure ... give him two years as defensive coach for the Boks and he'll give us almost as high a quality defence as Jacques did ... guaranteed. And where Nienaber is an analyst, Powell is as charismatic as well, almost like Rassie.
Squad depth in south africa is insane Almost all south africans players can play more 2/3 positions at a high level... Eg Grant Williams and Deon Squad for squad south Africa will always be better...
Interesting discussion. The most successful rugby nations in the professional era are the ones that built a national structure from the grassroots up to the national team. Each layer contributes players, supporters, sponsors, officials, facilities, programs, and interest. The less successful rugby nations don’t have that structure. Some used to have it, but lost it. Some never had it, and likely never will. Some don’t see the need, so will always lose to those who do. Yes, Scalla, luck does play a part. The lucky bounce. The kick that bounces in off the upright instead of out. The key player who gets hurt at exactly the wrong time. Good luck and bad luck happens.
Our NATIONAL team is build round one Race that's why we pkay a game plan that suits old and OVERRATED white players. RASSIE must start to adapt to the attacking skills of the players of colour. We beat beat NZ convincingly at Twickenham
Yes i have a question for RASSIE when is he going to stop being a Racist and start believes and trust players of colour and stop this k...k game plan that only suits his OVERRATED white players .
There is always an element of luck in any game..way ball bounces, what referee blows whistles on etc. Knockout rugby is a cruel test in any sport so the more luck you have absolutely gives more benefit
The big challenge for Rassie is that he is going to need someone to do the Director of Rugby role, basically someone to do for him what he did for Jacques over the past four years. Chances are that the team will suffer if he has to do everything.
All the respect to the whole Bok setup. All the top rugby teams in the world work extra hard behind the scenes just like the Boks, but unlucky for them they didn't win this world cup. Everyone in each team setup in the world gives 100%. I think the Boks were in such a great place before and during the World Cup, all the members in the bok setup did their job exceptionally and each member was the best there was in those positions. Everything fell in place for us and that is because of years of preperation.
If only the team with 14 did not have a captain that led his team down, watching like a spectator. No one blames him for being a dumbsass, but now its the Springboks fault they won against 14. Yeah. Typical loser mentality - everyone to blame, "hollow victory", refs, tmo's - EVERYONE except their own players causing a loss.👋 Discussion over ❤️
They were only 14 men i mean wish we could've buried them convincingly or at least a try. TF they also lost a pool game 😂omg can you imagine the saltiness had that happened
All the talk about SA needed to win to lift the nation. A month on, are you still up? Do you reckon the feeling will go beyond Christmas? til the end of next year??
Yeah, still brings a smile 🤷 elections next year, hopefully best outcome new government or coalition. We good for now and you? Which war does America want you to join now?
LMFAO, what a question... Heck yeah!!!! WAY WAY WAY UP! Just to add to some of the other replies, we'll be enjoying a public holiday this Friday because of the Boks winning the world cup and I intend to spend it celebrating the Boks! Last Friday I arrived at a camping resort with my Stronger Together Boks top. Lo and behold, there's an international fishing competition and I'm automatically the chief supporter. Can't get enough of this World cup win buddy! Too much winning 🤣🤣🤣 too bad we didn't get the cricket too
They won due to the incompetence of the refs -- that is the start and end of it. Without Barnes & O'Keefee being clueless, the Kiwis and Saffas are out at the QF and France & Ireland *(the two best teams -- by far) compete for the final. World Rugby has to be shamed for appointing clueless refs to the critical matches.
@@luthandomondliwa8702 jusdgnf by your obvious lack of intellect, I'd have better engagement from taiking to an inanimate object. Enioy poverty - it will be your country's real legacy. For generations
Boks won the 2023 RWC due to a refereeing error on the disallowed A Smith try. And Boks fans can gloat over scoring only 1 try in the whole finals series of games plus being the most boring, cynical and negative team in world rugby :)
It was still a knock on. Whether or not you go back only 2 phases for review. The ball was still knocked on. It’s as if the the Springboks scored from a knock on then claim they beat another team.
