Its so strange, in peacetime we look at these beautiful engineering marvels with aw and say "how cool are these" but how easily we could look at them with terror.
This is absolutely amazing. The amount of work you've put into editing and searching for high quality clips is clearly evident, and the outcome is fantastic. You've become one of my favorite channels with your videos. Keep up the good work!
MiG-31, a plane developed in the 70s, went into service in the 80s and is still the fastest (in service) interceptor in the World. Now, that's some engineering!
Kanwer Vikram the F-35 was such a poor example it’s all a mix of Government corruption, bureaucracy and over dependence ya could have used the F-117 something that was successful
@Jeff Clark Well, don't want to argue about who has better equipment, but i disagree that america owned or owns aviation business. Maybe, it did in 90-00s, because Soviet Union died. Whatever. I'm writing this comment, because you underestimate soviet intelligence services. As West, as East would know about each others top secret stuff, from the moment that stuff left the engineering section and went to production. Even if we are talking about building small serial prototypes. So f117 wasn't such shoking discovery. Now, you can't even imagine how many perspective, i dare to say, revolutionary projects were buried when Soviet Union was killed. Killed by that famous reformer,Gorbachev, and his team. So his words 'we lost' was de-facto his plan.
@Jeff Clark Surely, I understand that goverment won't tell me the truth through mass media. But again, my family has a huge military experience. Inside Army, Air Force and military industrial complex. And from their experience, from all info available to me ( like enthernet, books, reports and etc.) I'm judging that americans didn't dominate in avionics, so did the soviets. I know that there were some directions, where one country was better than other. But if we look overall we can't say that USA or USSR was leader. It's like compare planes, without counting the doctrine they were build under. Like key on speed and usefull thrust-weight ratio or key on supermaneuverability. Maybe i didn't understand your words proparly? I wrote you, because you said that USA owned the business. That was the first reason. Second, F-117 shock and Gorbachev theme. Talking about F-117 again, from what i, or more correctly, my relatives, inside the miitary, know, F-117 didn't make such crazy terror as you said. Yeah, it was something new and unseen, yeah, there were dozens of rumors about it, but still it wasn't something sudden for everyone. Ooh, you shouldn't have mentioned T-95. My father worked for Uralvagonzavod. He worked in crew, that was testing gun - 2A83 and fire controll systems. As he regarded, project was raw, but it was 100 % a step forward. And as he used to say, they would put him in service, 7-10 years from start of the program, if goverment would have invested properly and had intrest in it. P.S. Sorry for my bad english and punctuation, I used it, as we use it in russian.
@Jeff Clark Hello, 1) where is t 95? In the same place where USSR is... in history. Country was destroyed, new born Russia didn't need costly projects. People inside the goverment didn't need Russia to have perspective stuff. T-14 has gained some details from t 95, so we can say that its his inheritor. 2) Ok, my fault. By using words like 'terror' and etc. I wanted to emphasize how huge the surprise was for soviets, as you say. 3) Well, russians aren't so soft. But it's easy to get in anger when you know the truth. But whatever you do, you can't pass it to anyone. Especially americans. 4) Nice photos. @@jukebox_heroperson3994 Yeah, some, but that doesnt shed some light about russia's ability to maintain all those ka 52's let alone maintain all those military, as we have seen more and more about russia not being able to maintain their military.
How long is it gonna “maintain” those Leopards and Bradleys bro? How about those MRAPs and Ukrainian manpower? Never mind I forgot, deep down you don’t give a flying fuck about some slav dying for your “noble crusade”
In my opinion, russian vehicles are many separate amazing designs crammed into a messy whole while western designs are a mixture of mediocre components (besides the engines) put together in an ideal manner.

Recent events show what happens when almost every first-world country on the planet all fund and arm an Army. Even morons can pull a trigger, they would have been swallowing Ivan's load long ago otherwise Remember kids, war is only bad if it's not NATO or the US doing it.
Probably because the ideal thing is to use drones which can do most of the important test while minimizing the cost of losing a SU 30. after the drones do their part then the heavier equipment will probably come in and do the heavy lifting
Eh, they have been doing well enough for what they are. Look at NATO performance in the Balkans and then compare the air defense of Serbia to Ukraine and its foreign aid. Iraq was an anomaly.

what do you mean? Any flagship piece of equipment is vulnerable depending on the circumstances, bunch of damaged and shot down KA-52s and SU-25s was an expected outcome, they still achieved their goal of air supremacy and destroyed the capacities of the Ukrainian air force. Ffs Yugoslav army during the Kosovo war managed to snatch a few shots on the 2 apache helicopters and crippled their usage during that war, during Bosnian war Serbs shot down F16s and Harriers with stingers and scored the kill on F117 in 99 with the obsolete S-125 which in no means discredited the NATO's air supremacy and air domination just like this shit happening there is no way to discredit the Russian air force, but I guess to each their own holds a higher value.
@@mightymo897 while they did succeed in that area of "crippling down Ukraine's Air Force", they still lacked air supremacy because of the Western-supplied Ukrainian air defense that managed to secure most Ukrainian regions from Russian aircraft. I mean if the Russians did manage to hold on their supremacy then we would have seen many videos about their aircraft flying above Ukraine and destroying the Ukrainians yet these days we never saw any if not they were shot down by Ukrainians.

Yes, even without the support of NATO, it would be quite difficult. Senseless bloodshed
Calling Russias military "modern" is kind of an oxymoron since much of their equipment is cold war era stuff that sometimes hasn't even been modernized. They're still using AK-74s aas and other stuff that dates back to the 70s and 80s, their mavy is horrendously outdated, and many of their ships and tanks arent even serviceable, they're mothballed and rusting. They have extremely limited cutting edge peices of equipment brought out for parades but most of it is older then the soldier using it since it wasmt even the best when it was built in the 70s
Very true. I bet you could invade Ukraine with those equipment if they could fund it, even when old. But it seems Russia is not aiming or can't win the war inside an acceptable amount of loss. But since all the equipment is old and rusty, you can not win a decisive victory war. You can only acquire a stalemate as we are seeing.
