For the water vs solid trash debate - I've been using food safe sanitizing wipes. Less use of paper/plastic than disposable plates and utensils, but also reduces the need to use water for dishwashing.

The food safe wipes sounds like a great options, I'm going to see what I can find at the stores here... thanks for that tip!

Two things Brad, 1) paper plates go in the fire.....no dishes no water. 2) swags go on a stretcher....it will be far more comfortable that sleeping on the floor in your foil tent....

Paper Plates to me are a waste of money and also means more waste in our landfills whereas disposing grey water is a simple stop at either a toilet as long as your not dumping 100's of gallons at a time. It might be a little inconvenience but in the end it is still better than creating more waste than necessary. Safe Travels Doc and if you're ever in the Wichita Falls area love to meet up with a Fellow Service member !!

Seatbelt cutters work well on patients clothes. Cutting jeans or other heavy clothes can be challenging. Benchmade makes the cutter we use at work.
@Harry-zz2oh
@Harry-zz2oh 2 года назад
For real quick access to the seatbelt cutter, I think using a strip of the industrial Vecro and sticking it to a location on the dash or to the side of the seat. I use LED flashlights but to save the batteries, I install a small piece of plastic at the + end of the battery so no electricity can flow. I keep one flashlight ready to go and I'll attach it to the side of the seat with clamps. Since I never remove the doors, I can also use the doors to attach stuff.

Brad, for the paper towel holder, you can also use an old metal hangar by cutting about 3-4" off in the middle section. You can slide the towel in between and then you can hang it up.

Looking forward to it as I haven't been away for over a year and a half I traded my Wrangler, (I know, I am evil), and got a new Ram 1500 classic in June and pulling a small converted cargo trailer. I am all for the first aid kits, a few weeks ago we went on a group camping trip and everyone had first aid kits and at least my cousin is a nurse and a friend of ours is a coastie with medical training as well. I carry a hard cased OSHA approved first aid kit and a IFAK kit with basic first aid as well. With that a few hours after we all discussed this I got bit in the hand by a dog while trying to break up a fight between my dog and a buddys dog and so went and grabbed the large kit and got bandaged up.

I would be leery about the tire holder. The assembly itself may be beefy and can hold up to a heavy 37” tire. But unless the body of the jeep has been re supported, i would worry about the stress on the pass 1/4 and rear section of sheetmetal. I would think cracks and spot weld tears would develop in time. The bumper mounted assemblies are the only way to go with anything over a 31” tire IMO. I have an 86 Bronco thats been carrying a 33” tire on the factory mount for years. Its destroyed the tailgate latches from the weight and bouncing. Just something for you to keep in mind since you use your jeep pretty heavily. Love your videos. 👍🏻

CO2 AND ARB compressor! I started with the compressor and hated how slow and loud the compressor was so I added CO2, BUT having the compressor as a backup has been great. If I’m running short of CO2 I use the compressor to top things off and actually had the safety valve release right before a trip and didn’t have access to refill my tank so the compressor saved the day.

One thing to keep in mind is if your vehicle has laminate side windows. The typical glass breakers don’t work. We had a deputy roll his Tahoe into a ditch and submerged from the roof to the windows. He couldn’t get the door open and it took him 15 minutes to bust the door glass with a hatchet then was able to swim out.

A few of questions. What do you do with the empty green Coleman style propane canisters? Have you thought about just going with a small propane tank? Where did you get the bamboo table? Are the seat covers the same brand you went with for your JKUR? If not, does that brand make covers for the JKs? Sorry for all the questions. Trip hazards can be worse than people think of. I had a buddy trip and a stick went up and through his nose. Also, if you want good coffee, you need to get the water to 195-200degrees. Basically boiling and let cool for 30 seconds. I use a JetBoil Flash to get the water boiling in like 30 seconds. But I don’t recommend the French press attachment for it, it sucks. Use a stand-alone press.
