OXO Brew 8-Cup Coffee Maker & Thermal Carafe Review Makes Great Coffee!!!! 

Buy it now!. Got mine at my local target they did a amazon price Match of $141.00 a great Presidents’ Day sale I guess ! And also got the oxo burr grinder not on sale though for $99.00 But wow a great combo the Brewer makes some Of the best drip coffee I’ve had at home , restaurant quality IMO IM USING LA COLOMBE’s Corsica ( dark roast) 17-18 grams of coffee to make about a 12 oz. Mug about 350 grams of water what comes out to be about 3 cups in the reservoir, doesn’t have all the bells and whistles but you don’t need them , a well made machine along with burr grinder that works great and has a UV protected bean hopper which was A big selling point to me ,bree is also very quite& not much steam coming off , exterior doesn’t get hot, but brews great hot coffee and particularly no issues with dripping the only downside is ordering specialty small filters to get for the small basket insert 4.5 out of 5 for me

I have this machine for 6 months and very happy with it.

Beware of the filters. The filters the pot came with made a good cup of coffee. I used store brand filters I had on hand and the coffee produced was sour or under extracted. The oxo filters are about .006 inches thick and the store brand about .002, a three fold difference. Yes I used a micrometer, could not control the engineer in me. Used 3 store brand filters together and the taste matched the oxo filters. I brewed 6 cups and the maker did not overflow. Not sure if 8 cups would overflow the maker with 3 store filters.

I have a nespresso which I think is the pinnacle of fine coffee. I bought this because it's cheaper and not messy like making ur own pods. I'm not disappointed. I can now bring a thermos of fine tasty coffee easily.

Iv’e owned this for a couple months now, this brews an awesome cup of coffee. I like that they use the flat bottom brew basket, I think it tastes better than the conical types.

Great review! I agree with your assessment of the Oxo coffeemaker. It truly makes outstanding coffee. Everything about it is well thought out. I purchased one in early December at Bed Bath and Beyond for $120. So, there are discounts available around Thanksgiving. I considered the Moccamaster but the Oxo was much less expensive and it also takes up less counter space. Overall, I am really happy with the Oxo! My favorite whole-bean coffee to brew with this machine is Starbucks House Blend. Keep up the excellent work! 👏

The two things that are making me hesitant to buy this is 1) I’m wondering if the lid on the top can be opened enough to get the basket out under a 19” cabinet? I know it won’t open all the way. But, I am fine if I can still use it without having to move it out from under the cabinet to fill the basket with grounds. 2) 8 cups ( which is basically 4 cups) is borderline what I need in the morning. If it doesn’t make a full 40oz per pot, I need to look elsewhere. Great videos!

That sounds like a great coffee pot

I did 8 scoops and it was super strong. I know cut how many scoops I put in. For example, I find that for 5 cups, 3.5 scoops is great. So if I do 8 again, I will do 6.5 scoops.

i don't like the hole at the top of the carafe, which heat escapes so the carafe does not keep the coffee hot for very long. Also, getting the flat bottom basket in the machine is cumbersome and there is a little piece of rubber towards the back that began to break off on mine. The coffee is delicious, but the not so great carafe and difficult use of basket is why I returned it.

I have only had my OXO 8 a week, and I am not gonna lie, I am not sure I like it. I think the recommended 1 scoop of coffee to one cup of 5 oz water makes for some weak brew and I have made a huge mess every time I have tried to fill the filter up with 10 scoops to get it stronger. Gonna order some 14 cup filters on line and see if that fixs things. But at the moment this is more like a 30 oz coffee maker if you want a strong cup. And, I use quality/strong beans. That is not the issue.

7:20 wait, did you measure the hight with or without the lid's added hight in the up position like on screen? Very confusing, this was the only spec i really cared about lol

So I just received my 8-cup OXO coffee maker & was wondering if you experienced stronger coffee? I used the same coffee, which is PETES & the same amts, but noticed my coffee was REALLY strong. The coffee grounds are very, very fine & so I'm wondering if the OXO coffee maker requires less grounds than my previous coffee maker, which was a Mr Coffee. What are your thoughts? I'm not a coffee expert by any stretch of the imagination, so that's why I'm asking. Thank you for any feedback or suggestions.

How long does it stay hot without a hot plate?

Weird, it takes 12 minutes for the 12 cup version of this pot to brew. You timed it in your other video. But this brew was only 4 minutes. Wonder why the big variance?

I agree with your comment about it being a " sleeper". Manny great features. I had a question about yuur measurement of the units height. You stated that it was 20 inches High? Specs say 13.5. This is important as it my not fit under my kitchen cabinets! Can you verify? Thanks.

Great looking and sounding, I am getting one as a gift for someone but I'm so frustrated that it has quantity buttons that do nothing! If you press 2-4 cups but have 8 cups of water it isn't made to stop after at least when it goes through 4 cups. It's not a cheap economy minded brewer why they couldn't implement a size selection process that works, like every other coffee maker is totally beyond me. Obviously complaining to you does nothing to inform the people of Ox-Oh, yes its pronounced as a word not spelled out as three separate letters. It comes from when they made only bullion cubes, most popular being Oxtail soup, why everyone says O-X-O is a mystery to me, unless it's a Mandela effect thing lol is the 9 cup version of this just as dumb when it comes to water amount?
