Anyone who had been playing it since Diameter dropped. Circular reads like a custom card that everyone would critique as "too much" called Mathmech God Mathmech with a picture of Goku on it.

@@geek593 Tbf mathmech did nothing in ocg when circular dropped outside of a few niche tops. But tbf everyone also thought TCG POTE format was going to be a 2 deck format as well. Thankfully that is not the case

@@BlackBeartic229 I was never convinced it was going to be a two deck format. Too many decks are too good for it to centralize so hard. We also actually make an attempt to play meta counters in our staple slots unlike the OCG which sticks to the usual Maxx C package and just rolls with whatever deck is mathematically the most consistent for tournaments

@@geek593 I'm not even a Swordsoul player but Chungus is literally my key card although I played Myutants. Love how everytime I banished a card, there's a follow up.

they do come up pretty often. Summoned them a lot during the European Championship. You usually go different routes depending on the matchup what MBT did not do.

@@CripinIo its gotta be either toad or sprights ability to make and abuse it (aka swap or ronin). Omve spright is old enough to have either elf or gigantic hit it can return but they cant be around together and they cant hit the spright engine just yet....

Chaos Ruler by all means is not a broken card. Usually i am for axing the payoff instead of the enabler but in this case i genuinly think they should just Limit E tele and/or Ze Amin as even without Chaos ruler those would still be extremely strong

actually baning Chaos ruler would just get rid of the king calamity line for punk they can play without it like no problem th new punk synchro 8 is just insane (even more in this format this is can add ghost ogre from deck to hand)

There's no way this is a tier 0 format when there are at least 2 good decks. Sure either would have been tier zero in the past, but since they came out at the same time, they're stepping on each other's dreams of tier zero.

@@DrDrao I mean might as well be. A lot of people consider Dragon Ruler-Spellbook to be a tier 0 format and this is basically just that all over again. 5 years from now people will look back on this meta the same way imo

@@arrowsmith000 Even in the dragon book format, which I wouldn't consider tier zero anyway, there was an obvious best deck that took most of the top spots and one other deck that could keep up. Now we have 2 top decks, and like 5 under the surface (swoso, plant, punk, exo, and obviously mathmech.) This is a high powered format, but it's miles away from tier zero.

@@DrDrao you could say both would be less represented if they came out earlier, especially tearlament They would've likely been left forgotten like ids if they came out when adventurer was everywhere, and normal summon reliang spright wouldn't fare well against the other deck that plays 15 hand traps in prank kids, as they also have dpe and always blow up the field so no 2s The format before that was even worse, since besides dpe you still had drytron taking names with eva, bird up barrier statue locking everyone or ending on a massive board while having the ability to stop drnm and droplet, and prime swordsoul autowinning games 2 and 3 with protos

The meta has been this way since the extra deck became a thing players actually used. Stardust Cataster, etc we’re played in every synchro deck. Castel and ark on every rank four. Forcing decks to rely on in archetype extra deck deck monsters has never been a thing. Which is good

@@geiseric222 I can only talk of the Synchro Era, but decks at that time will still actually use archetypes for their own boss monsters or strategies. Stardust, Catastor and such we're use as common support and there where a lot of ways to get rid of them without much issue. Omninegates were not a thing (ar at least extremely rare).

@@RoyFokker93 well yes old school Yu gi oh was break my board style with the only way to interact with your opponents being traps and the occasional quick play. But my point is that stardust and Cataster filled the same role as Baron and savage do for the modern game.

@@geiseric222 Not really, we came from "this is my main startegy of the deck alongside with some support" to "the meta is to bring out the same cards that won't allow my opponent to do anything".
