Are the strikers interchangeable between the 365 and the XL

Didn't learn how they stack up against each other. All I learned is that he loves the 365 xl. A lot.

I have a long and trusted history with SIG metal framed guns- love them. BUT I just cant get over the hump trusting tier polymer guns- I had one of the early P320s- garbage, not to mention the safety issues with the trigger- then my dad purchased not an early, but i guess "early mid" series of the 365- he had 2 broken firing pins and major primer drag (more than whats acceptable) after/during less than 400 rounds. I really like the feel of the 36XL but its like trying to get back in a relationship with a really pretty girl who says she loves you, but has cheated on you twice. Meanwhile my plain girl next door G19 G3 has never, ever let me down...even if I am not the nicest to her

This is a disingenuous review. I don’t know anyone who owns those Glocks without Shield mags. I sold my 365x and my wife and I both carry a G48 now. Can you say 15 rounds with Shield mags and the same barrel length as a G19? I can! And it is better than the 365x!

I think the reason you want to switch the Lower and upper is to have the xl slide on the shorter height lower so you can conceal better as the length of the grip prints most.

I’m not sure holding the 365XL and 48 next to each other in a video really does the justice for the size difference between the two guns. I was surprised at how much smaller the 356XL actually is in a practical sense. If any of you are thinking about buying one of these guns, you really owe it to yourself to hold them side by side and feel for yourself. Now, personally, I went with the 48. Which is kind of weird because I have much smaller hands than Tim and he said he preferred the XL. Which goes to show, it’s personal preference. But I wanted an easily concealable pistol with as much grip and barrel as possible. I wanted to be able to get a full grip. The slightly bigger 48 gave me that. The XL still felt good. But the 48 just felt better. I’ve found the 48 to be very concealable in the real world, no matter what I’m wearing. I’m kind of surprised how similarly easy it is to conceal compared to other guns that are smaller (like my wife’s Sig 238). And I’m very impressed with the felt recoil. That little extra barrel (and presumably the extra grip) makes such a huge difference compared to other small single stack 9mms (like the 43, 938, shield, and XDs). But, I would have to assume the XL is just that much more concealable. It fit perfectly in my pocket, where the 48 is just a hair big for that. I haven’t shot the XL, but everyone I talk to who has says the exact same thing as Tim. They all say the felt recoil is dramatically less than the 365, or the other smaller guns I listed. And I agree with Tim, I prefer the 48’s trigger to the XL. It’s nothing special. But it’s smooth, and it’s perfect for a carry gun. The XL is still a bit spongy. Just wanted to share that opinion for anyone who cares to read. Last side note, I wasn’t that impressed with the 43x (and I thought I would be). I think I’ll be buying a 365 or good ol 43 soon to replace an older 938 as my smallest carry gun. But the 48 is my new go-to, and I have a feeling it’s going to be for a very long time. I love that thing.

When you say, I got one that works "I Got Lucky" that sums up sig enough. The Glock 43x/48 is the only clear choice. It has a history of functioning and has 0 issues since it's release, you won't need to buy 4 glocks to find one that works.

I think you kind of missed the point of the idea of swapping the uppers. It's not to get a shorter barrel on the XL body, it's to get the better XL upper on the smaller more concealable body of the normal P365. This gives you the full grip (with the 12rd mag), or, you can opt to the smaller more concealable grip of the 10rnd mag, while maintaining the better upper. So the question is, how does it feel, how does it shoot with a 12rnd mag P365, and the XL upper?

Have the G43X and love it but nothing beats the Sig P365XL!! Nothing!!

Tim you missed the point, We want the long slide on the short grip frame because you can conceal the short frame better but have the longer sight radius, I have custom Glock 19 slides on Glock 26 frames made by DV8 Dynamics

My P365XL has the issue with going into battery.... when my wife is shooting it. I have had ZERO issues with it shooting and functioning 100% through the last 500rds. Harry needs to stop shooting like a woman.

I waited, got my P365 (born on date 11-13-19). No striker drag at all, sights are great, trigger is sweet. 1000 rounds so far. Shoots great! new EDC.

“Why in the world...” I’d suggest you may have gotten the “swapability “ question backwards. I’ll bet it’s more like “original” P365 owners wondering if they can buy an XL upper for it and cure all their troubles. Also, hoping that Sig might make such a kit available. I did the same concept with my P320 Sub Compact. Good for Sig for hearing you talk about the grip being the concealability problem! And it shot well. But not really accepted very well (and seems to have been discontinued). So, I bought the X-Compact grip module and added that flat trigger (you failed to mention the 90° break - my favorite part) and, presto change-o! I have an almost-X-Compact! Viva modularity!

Why skip the size comparison between the P365XL and the 43X?

I purchased a July 2018 P365-it has been riddled with failure to return to battery, and it almost never locks back after the last round. Now having little to no confidence in it, I plan to trade it in at the gun store and replace it either with the P365XL or the P320 XCompact when they are received. Would love your take on the differences between these two new models and your preference between the XL and XCompact. Great review, btw!

Still scratching my head wondering why you would say that the Glock 43x is the Glock model that best compares to the Sig P365? The G43x would seem better compared to the P365XL. The G43, which you don't even mention or show in your video (a big mistake), is the Glock that best compares to the P365. The way you compared the Sigs to Glock makes no sense. You should have compared the P365 to the G43, and the P365XL to the G43x. The G48 is not really relevant to the Sigs you are showing. Your video seems biased toward Sig and against Glock.

The only thing I would have added would be a comparison of the size between the 365XL and the 43X.

5:10 (about the grip length) "the overall length is really no different..." WHAT???? Wow. Do you think we are blind??? While it's not a huge increase in length, it's NOT the "same size". I appreciate a candid view, up until things don't fit reality.

That 365XL seems like the smallest pistol I can think of that could fit into a duty role as well as a CCW role. That's super neat!

In firearms as in most things, early adopters pay the price.

You can keep harping about the strikers but the fact is we are't seeing broken strikers now like we were when the 365 first came out. And many small pistols have similar striker drag.

The striker changes seem like band aid fixes. Not really addressing the issue the timing on the gun is wrong. Seems like a glaring failure from an engineering and testing stand point. Maybe Sig ought to actually fix the issue via a recall and new parts.

Off topic here Tim, but when addressing Red Flag Law topics be sure to mention that the Red Flag Laws themselves are enacted at the State level. The Federal Reps are primarily trying to spend tax dollars to support/promote localities in implementing Red Flag Laws. The importance of the State-level fight cannot be understated. Congress can pass the funding initiatives and bills, but if your State never passes legislation on red flag laws you never have to worry about it. I'm not sure if you've made a point of addressing what I've stated, but I think it should be noted in one of your future videos.

The whole P365 line as of oct 19 has the newest striker and none have striker drag anymore. Just FYI.

It's pretty cool that you can add the striker-drag feature to the P365XL by simply swapping slides with the regular P365.

Due to WA State law I-1639, I don't want to buy another handgun, so I would like to upgrade to the P365 XL by buying the Grip Module and slide and just swap my P365 Fire Contol Unit into the P365 XL. Do you know if the Fire Control Unit of the P365 will fit in the P365 XL Grip Module?

Have the p365 and I have their latest version and no proper drag has same marking as the xl. So far zero malfunctions.

I've regretted every US made SIG(both rifles and pistols) I've bought since 2005 and learned my final lesson with the P365. No amount of good press will ever convince me to buy another SIG-USA turd. Friends don't let friends buy SIGs..

There really isn’t a comparison. Until the day comes where your on your 4th glock because the previous 3 fell apart due to crap engineering and even worse quality control you can’t compare the 2. Today it’s a reliable sidearm versus a POS. So much wasted potential. Sad.

The P365 's are better shooters than Glock 43 series. To all Glock fan boy's, the Sig P365 's outperforms the Glock 43's. I have been shooting Glock's for over 25 year and love them, but they lost the subcompact market to SIG.

I just recently got the Glock 43x with the black slide. I briefly considered the p365xl but I wanted a weapon I knew would work without issues. Loving the 43x easy to conceal and fits my hands way better than the regular 43

I held both the p365 and p365xl in my local gun store last week and I have to say, I do like the xl a bit better. One thing I’m curious about, how much does the p365 weigh, fully loaded, compared to the p365xl? It would be nice to compare those weights to the fully loaded Glocks as well (43x, 48, 19).

I'm not really a glock fan simply because I like a hammer, but the 43x is a big deal. The 43x fulfilled years and years and years of the public's demands for the glock platform.

It's funny to see that people still think that gen 5 glocks are the same old glocks. Over generations glock changed so much that other then the general shape it has little to do with what glock started out as, but hey, in glock world "perfection" is done one "update" at a time. So how is that polygonal barrel doing? It's still perfect, right? :)

Sigs shady business practices really bug the hell out of me. The sig mpx... 2 gens and they won't even mark the guns informing customers. They wouldn't even acknowledge the drop safety on the p320... just recommend you to send it in.

I think putting the xl slide on the standard P365 is a great idea. If Sig offers them separately, I'm going to pick one up. You can keep it in standard configuration for pocket carry, and switch to the longer slide when you appendix carry. The other plus, is that you can run the red dot optic with the longer slide, giving you a better longer range set up.

I have been carrying a Glock 43X now for a year now. 100% reliable with every kind of 9mm that I have fed it , 6 different weight hollow points , range reloads , everything. I have put no less than 2000 rounds down range. It’s a Glock .

Just held a 365xl yesterday, I love it

Is the VP9SK even a contender or did they fall out after the torture test? I had such high hopes for it.

My 15 Rd mags get stuck. I had to file a little bit off the ledge that is getting stuck in the magazine catch notch. Now they work perfect

I really do hope that SIG can get their act together on the P365XL, but I don't think they are there yet. In addition to several pople on RU-vid noting failures to go into battery with the new guh, I just read this review on the SIG website of all places from a new purchaser 48 hours ago. I'm surprised SIG allowed the review to stay up on the site: "Lots of problems 600 rounds and still having issues with it not going into full battery, Even using Sig Ammo still same issues. Very disappointed in Sig as well as there customer service Reps. and how they speak to their customers.I’m retired law-enforcement and own over 20 handguns and I’ve never had as many problems as I have with this particular model. I own 6 other Sigs with no issues. There is a serious issue with this firearm, And its a consistent problem of it not going back into full battery after firing a few rounds. I would not trust my life to it. Rounds 500-1000 Would you recommend SIG SAUER to a friend? No" Based on a number of reviews like the one above, I don't think even the P365XL is quite ready for prime time just yet. But I do hope that it will be at some point. As of right now though, between this gun and one of the new Glocks, the Austrian gun maker would get my money.

Bought 365 last month. Hasnt malfunctioned once but.....Carried for 2 weeks and it has rust on front and rear sight, rust on magazines and rust on rear slide plate. I guess I've been spoiled carrying glocks.

The point of the slide swap is to run longer slide on P365 with 12 rd magazine to basically have same gun as the XL. You missed that I think.

I've held all these guns in the video. I bought a Glock 48 for the feel and absolutely love it! It's just a slimmer g19. GLOCKS have a thing..a feel. Yes, they don't perhaps modernize their guns enough with new generations, but my G48, G19, and G17 all feel like home and hit the target. Sig's are nice but feel wrong in my hand.

The Sig P365XL is a bit longer in the grip and the slide when compared to the regular P365. So they basically made a Glock 43X yet holds an extra two rounds. Gotcha.
