Steven, I know right. I research airbrushes and spray guns all the time and I was looking at the paasche airbrushes, Tallon to be exact and I ran across this one. I did some research and it intrigued me. I thought can a gun that cheap really be any good? The answer as you saw is yes. like I say in the video Paasche is a very good company. Thanks for watching.

Can I ask why there is a delay between your trigger press and the paint coming out? Is it your set up or the gun? Thanks.
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage Год назад
Urban, Air is first and then paint. So when you release the trigger, the paint shuts off and then the air. This ensures that the paint is blown off the needle. Hope this helps.

Sir, what compressor do YOU use? I’m learning; will be coating firearms parts.
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage 9 месяцев назад
With this small gun for small jobs, I just use my 4-gallon craftsman. When you step up to guns with a 1.0 needle or larger is when you need a much bigger compressor.

Laurence, I don't see why not. Usually auto touch up guns start at 1.0 needles but my experience with this gun is that is would be great for auto touch up. Hope this helps and thank you for the question and for watching. Much appreciated.

What air compressor do you suggest for this gun? Planning to use for cerakote. Great review
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage Год назад
Paul, because this gun is for small jobs you can get away with something as small as a pancake compressor. I know it is not the recommended cfm but I use it all the time for projects like guitars and smaller. But the bigger the tank and the higher cfm the better. A compressor that runs at 5 cfm or higher will start out around $450. So...if you plan on running bigger guns as well that's what I would get. I like the 27 gallon Fortress at harbor freight. Hope this helps.

@mikedegrazia Год назад
Look at the stealth 20 gallon ultra quiet compressor its like 5 cfm at 90 6 at 40 psi. I found one for 350 u.s...

Thanks for the review! Can i use it with my Scale model (1/35 - 1/20) ?
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage 2 года назад
I looked up how big a 1/35 scale is and I think it would be to much. That HG-08 throws a lot of paint. I think an airbrush with a .5 needle for coverage and a smaller needle size like a .3 for detail would be better suited for that size work. Hope that helps and thanks for the question and watching.

Thanks for the video. I just bought this gun. Couple questions: 1) how was your fluid level set for the test? Wide open? 2) I tried mine out briefly and had my finish weeping out at the bottom of cup. Seem there should be a seal? Mike
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage Год назад
Hi Mike. Yes, I always spray with it wide open, and I never had a problem with the cup. Let me check when I get a chance, and I will get back to you on that one.

Just looked at mine. There is no seal between the cup and the gun. If yours is leaking, I would contact Paasche

Can you double check the nozzle size ( reality vs. advertised) .. that thing is pouring out the paint especially for a touch up gun.
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage 3 года назад
superkillr, it is a .8mm needle nozzle. Sounds to me like you are in such disbelief of this gun you should spend the $40 dollars... Yes 40 not 50 dollars as I say in the video and see for yourself. Not much to loose. I think you will be very surprised. Thanks for watching killr, much appreciated.

What compressor are you using for this
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage 2 года назад
Antonio, I use either my craftsman pancake or my 21 gallon. What compressor doesn't matter. What is important is CFM and this gun requires Air Volume of 1.5-4 CFM. So when looking for a compressor look at the guns you want to use and make sure your compressor puts out the CFM you are looking for. Hope this help. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.

I just acquired the same spray gun and was looking for a basic how-to set up. I think I may have to keep looking. Missing in this video is an explanation of what the adjustment knob at the bottom of the handle is for. That content is missing. Additionally, I believe the 1/4 npt air nozzle does not come with the kit. I had to go out and buy a female nozzle then apply nylon tape to the threads. That content is also missing.
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage Год назад
Carl, you are correct I did forget to mention the air valve at the bottom of the handle. I always spray with mine wide open. But, beware because the gun is on the smaller side and my hand will move the valve when I'm spraying. I once took the whole gun apart because it stopped spraying only to find out that my hand was closing the valve a little at a time when I mad a pass. So now needles t I say i keep an eye on that when i use that gun. Sorry you where disappointed in the video but I do appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching.

@@TheAirbrushGarage I appreciate your reply sir. I used that spray gun for the first time today. I dialed in the spray pattern and took extra care to get everything in place first. I filled the fluid container with Cerakote's C-series product. I pulled out my spray gun holder and clamped it on my bench. Carefully I poured the product into the container using the appropriate strainer. Carefully I positioned the small gun into the holder and went to screw the cap on the cerakote product. Then the spray gun fell off the holder and spilled the cerakote product on the bench, floor and surrounding items. Ugg!!!!! Couldn't believe that happened after all the care and preparation I took. You see the holder was for a large size gun and fluid container. The small gun simply could not be secured in the holder. I thought you might get a chuckle out of my misfortune ; ). Possibly you might include a video about spray gun holders with caution on using them for this 0.8mm Paasche Spray gun. Lastly, I tried cleaning up the paint off the air pressure gage that came with the gun. Using acetone it melted the plastic face of the gage. Can't see the reading now. I plan on looking for a replacement with a glass lens that will not react to solvents. Thank you.

can I use.this with my Iwata compressor 60 psi
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage Год назад
Jennifer, I probably would not. You really need the 1/4" fitting to a 3/8" hose to get the proper air flow. I'm afraid that even if you were able to hook that set up to such a compressor, I don't think I would maintain the 30 psi needed. Hope this helps.

what tank size do you recommend for the compressor you use with this brush?
@dancuccurullo8453
@dancuccurullo8453 2 года назад
Raoul, the bigger the tank is on a compressor th better but.....CFM (cubic feet per minute) is what you are looking for. This gun requires 2 to 4 CFM. Spray guns don't ever specify tank size, only compressor. Hope you found this helpful, thanks for the question and thanks for whathing.

LOVE THE TEST PATTERN SHEET> will be making my own. Like you I also started with Paasche airbrushes nearly 30 years ago. I recently purchased the LMG-10 which is the 1.0 version of the touchup gun- has a plastic cup. It sprays pretty well but the build quality was suspect at best. the casting (internally) was rough and the molding of the cup to nut had huge barbs on it...Cut them off with an Xacto... with that being said, it adjusts easily and I'm pleased with how it sprays.... it's no LPH80 but it's also not $290. The 1.0 did come with a wrench

O and O, thank you for sharing that. I have a 1.0 also but it is a TCP Global. Another cheap gun but I have been using it for years and really like it. The .8 intrigued me because I have everything but a .8 and as I said I like it. I have a project I am working on now and I am looking forward to spraying the candy's with it. Thank you for watching.
