Hiked that section near Chester two summers ago and it was completely devastated after the fire - just bare, black, ashy. I’m so happy to see so much growth in the understory now. Nature is miraculous!

That must have been a great moment when you made it to the half way marker!!! Truthfully, any melancholy feelings?? BTW, many of the campgrounds in Lassen now have bear boxes for food storage. So I don’t think the Bear can requirements are necessary for those sites.
