That boat managed to survive being dragged across a few city blocks, a few hard hits to Otachi AND being violently grabbed and thrown into two buildings. *That ship alone is stronger then all the jaegers in Pacific Rim Uprising*
From my understanding, the lighting was because you know Hong Kong is usually vibrant and busy and alive at night so all the lights and whatnot are on and buzzy brightly. Its supposed to add a sense of “if it werent for this shit happening damn near on a weekly schedule we’d have one of the most BANGING nightlife scenes on the Pacific coastline.” Memo del Toro and his team did an amazing job with this film.
4:05 We see gypsy trying to minimize the damage in the city while in uprising saber Athena is driving her swords thru the building just cuz it looks cool
what do you expect. The pilots were children. idk why that movie made little kids, pilots. It would've been more believable had they use them as cadets but as pilots? It just made the movie seem unprofessional. what a waste of potential.
Hey, do you know who we should put inside mega ton fify story robots with the destuctive potential to take out an entire citys and giant monsters? Teenagers. Brilliant idea.
@@holycrusader7965 what's sadder is that pacific rim the black used the concept of teenager pilots MUCH better than uprising did. Anime always used that concept and most of the time always did it correctly. In uprising the pilots were inexperienced didn't properly follow the rules and destroyed more things than the kaiju did and underestimated the kaiju thus not taking the situation seriously as a whole. In the black the pilots were inexperienced but they did follow the rules they didn't cause much destruction to begin with they never underestimated the kaiju since they had zero weapons and took every situation seriously. Just goes to show uprising was trying too hard to be a anime and it failed while the black was a actual anime and it succeeded
I like how even though it's raining you can't even tell. The mist sparkle when gypsy swings its ship is honestly such a cool effect that you can easily overlook
this show really made it obvious by depicting newton and the kaiju having a friendly connection by telepathically knowing where each other are and the weird tongue thing to recognise him.
@@bullrun2772I don't think it's trying to kill but rather communicate, probably to like partner up and make mecha kaijus, but who knows, we never got a sequel
The ambush part is really cool cause you can see the building buckle right before otachi comes through and it also shows how gypsy danger is way ahead of it
3:22 this Cargo ship that was wedged between the two buildings was retrieved, repaired and recommissioned back into service at the end of the apocalypse and served as a fluid tanker for Hong Kong in order to facilitate the economic percussions of the Kaiju attack. The tanker later got wedged in the Suez Canal. stolen comment from another video.
@@afrojaakter7686 No, its most definitely a logistical ship over any kind of civilian transport, from the looks of it probably a liquid transport of some kind.
Even as a Hive-Minded Rampaging monster, you know you're fucked when you hear Gipsy's *WOOOOOOOOOOOM* That Battle Horn makes me eargasm every single time
I still can't get over 2:57, Gipsy Danger adjusting her grip. For machine absolutely redundant motion, for two humans inside briefly releasing the tension of in the hand before the battle.
TheShatterdome I know. I was speaking to the earlier fight with Striker when simple punches were knocking Otachi on its ass.. Meanwhile Gipsy is hitting it with a ship and barely phasing it, let alone with it's punches.
TheShatterdome Granted: Gypsy's lesser armament causes this fight to go on longer than would have been the case otherwise. Chest missiles alone might have finished this, when Otachi grabbed the ship with its tail.
First of all, I didn't upload any of this work cause that's what you stated in your comment. And thanks! I love this movie so much too, that's what I'm sharing my love to everyone who loved this movie. Oh yeah! (No one cares...if you're the first)
Tyler McNeeley Yeah, but it's kind of funny when you think about the fact that they resorted to bashing the kaiju with a ship. Rather than using their sword.
It was stated in the intro that Kaiju blood was toxic and rendered any area it spilled in uninhabitable. That's why the Jaegars resort to blunt trauma or incendiary weapons to kill Kaiju, since they either wouldn't be spilling the blood or most of it would be cauterized. The sword is a last resort weapon, seeing as it easily sliced Otachi in half.
Stacker: Cargo company sir, we will pay the cargo ship from collateral damage. Company owner: Fucking what?! What did you do? Stacker: We used it as a baseball bat to fight the Kaiju, and I must admit the engineers who made the ship were really good.
He drifted with a kaiju brain (Part of it) Which means he connected his brain with the kaiju brain and saw what it was like in the alien world.. But it worked both ways so they saw the jaegers too, and so they sent Otachi and Leatherback, which were specifically made to kill Crimson Typhoon and Cherno Alpha, hense the Jaeger pilots saying "Weve never seen that before" When they were hit by Leatherbacks EMP and Otachi's Acid.
