Yes gum can help after any surgery with general anesthesia, but especially abdominal surgery. The medications can slow your digestive track causing things to get backed up. Chewing gum jumpstarts this process and helps the stomach and everything wake up.
As a mom to two boys who’s always seeing a “pack my hospital bag with me” videos I can say THIS is the most relatable one!! The things you actually use & could possibly need. Sending you all my prayers and best wishes on the c-section & recovery ❤
L&D nurse here…. Just delivered a sweet baby August this week ❤️ I told the parents “ I know someone else having a baby August this week too! Well I watch them on RU-vid! Haha”😂
@@ElizaandPippanoooooo it's an amazingggg job. I worked on for many years like close to 20 yrs before I changed and started doing Pvt duty with elderly for a little bit then special ICU/ CCU. for babies and children.......did that for over 25 yrs. Loveddddd that job and retired for a couple of yrs now I'm headed back into nursing .....looking for what I was doing before. ICU/ CCU.....for babies and kids. I do one at a time. And I love it....all my time is devoted to one at a time!!!! I hope to be back on the night shift. It's a hard shift to fill so I like to fill that space to help everyone!!!
Yes the gum is great!! For one, it can help keep your bowel moving so it doesn't block up after surgery (very common and painful) and if the gum helps you burp, that will help the gas not get trapped and ease abdominal pressure. Good luck mumma! Sending hugs.
You know gum is important when in hospitals in Danmark after an op. It is on the medicine list😅 that and movement is the best for the stomach after anistisia.
One thing we did when our second baby was due was to buy a few gifts , wrap them , and then told our son that his new baby brother got him presents to show how excited the baby was to have him as his older brother . Our kiddos were about 16 months apart .
WHAT oh my gosh when my baby brother was born my mom and dad bought me a bunch of Minnie/Mickey mouse stuff and said my brother got me them as gifts 😂 I was four years old and was questioning how he knew I liked it if he was in my moms stomach for the last couple months
Things I learned for C-section. Try and get up and moving as soon as possible. It gets better and easier the more you move. And mints definitely works so good!!!
I love the vibe of this couple. They seem like pure and decent humans. Hope all goes well with the birth and post surgery… … and Wow! It’s a real eye opener with how people in 🇺🇸 do childbirth
Dang, Abby you forgot to bring the surgical equipment! LOL!! Seriously I wish you only love happiness and good health! Can't wait to see the new baby! I feel like a virtual grandma!
Use the band they also may have one at the hospital Trust Me LOL I have had 4 c sections it helps with the pain and it helps with the burning sensation when your nerves start to come to after surgery ❤ can't wait to meet the new baby boy 💙
Gum right after surgery helps with keeping ur gut moving so u can still poop after surgery. Every 2hrs chew gum for 15 mins. If you don't eat for a while ur gut will stop producing poop and gum helps keep it going. Good luck with the baby!
I had a C-section 10 months ago and it was honestly a great experience. If you're feeling up for it, try to get walking the same day. I think walking helped my recovery so much. Also lots of water. (also ask for the lax and thank me later 😂)
I had 2 c-sections and had great experiences, too. Yes, there was some pain afterwards. But honestly, they both went so smoothly & easily that it kinda felt like I had cheated, lol. And I agree, walking the same day (if you're able) & consistently moving around in general makes ALL the difference in the world. I only felt bad if I laid around too long & let myself get stiff.
I've had 3 c sections & definitely agree, getting up & about does aid recovery. It is painful but keeping on top of pain relief can help. I had a pico dressing with my c section last year,it was amazing how much I healed with it.
I had a section with my first, 26 years ago. My advice is big pants, granny pants to be precise. Bikini and midi sat right on the scar, not fun I can tell ya. Also, relax when using the bathroom afterwards, much less painful. Good luck mumma ❤
Good luck with your c section, my mom has had two and they went extremely well, just be prepared to see your organs or whatever out in like a table or something by you, and just to prepared it may hurt for a day or two, other than that there's not much to worry about, ❤ good luck!
I wish I could be this calm, a C Section is a huuuge major surgery and it freaks me out! I’m so glad you’re calm about it, prayers for a smooth recovery ❤
It is surgery. But. Recovery is so much better with following what they tell you ...get up. Get moving. Take pain med as needed for the first few days to just get over that realllly bad pain. It gets better every day!!!! Drink lots of water and or juice and milk and tea with honeyyyy honey heals. Remember that. Just another healing naturally thing!!!!!
Strong mama! I wish you a safe delivery & speedy recovery ❤ I wasn't able to move after any of my surgeries. Couldn't get up until 3rd day to pee & struggled. I was miserable. Not having a shower bothered me. 😖😭 They helped me change my gown & husband helped with everything else 😂
Them: your baby must be born aug 25 but its second one so it can happen since 10 aug. Me on 10th: bags are ready, room, rstock, everything done, waiting waiting cant wait lol
@@gingerleamcwow435think it’s to help with burping and settling your stomach( due to the mint). Like anti acid tablets have mint in along with like chalk stuff to help you burp and pass gas.
im so glad to see that she isn't embarrassed about talking about pregnancy or even breastfeeding! ❤ keep up the good work and thank for encourage us ladies confidence!
@elliechang9489 nah...it's made fun of a lot in movies. And in real life....One of my friends had her named changed in the 9th grade. We watched a movie that siad "oh that one girl...August?" "Yes." "Who the hell would name their child August." ....I think the Amish do.". She was my fun of so much more after that.
Those still had tags on them which means they haven't gotten washed yet... as someone who has worked in retail... Wash your clothes before you wear them!!!
I am so so excited for baby august!! For anyone who doesn’t know that is his name that they announced on unplanned podcast! Griffins is going to be so cute as a big brother!
Those bands can be helpful. Remember to apply pressure to the incision when you stand up/walk/cough/laugh/sneeze. Also I always feel significantly better day 3.
I didn’t feel gum helped much, but everyone’s different. Now a belly pillow meant the world to me and saved so much pain. Idk if that’s what the belly band is for I’m old. But essentially coughing/sneezing getting up/down you hold the pillow firmly (not hard) over your incision. I’ve done all the things without one only once and never again because that ish hurt.
