If the 8215 is cheaper than the NH35 at Paganis order quantities, I’d happily accept a noisier rotor and get better lume and AR coating. My thinking is, that Pagani don’t want to increase the retail price for the aforementioned improvements, so we have to save some more somewhere else. But then, getting this reliable movement, the NH35, was always a strength of Pagani, maybe this would be a bad trade. Anyways, what a shame with this bracelet… But yeah, getting this for 80 bucks, throw in a 10 buck fkm rubber strap and you’re set. Nice piece for 90… Overall it good they finally released a 40mm Smurf! Thanks for the review!

I appreciate this Neil. However 4K video files are four times larger than 1080. Therefore to edit a top 5 list Christmas video would take hours of processing in addition to the circa 2 hours to upload and fully process to 4K. 1000 views typically pays 1 USD AdSense revenue. A top 10 video would probably do 5-10K views, thus 5-10 USD revenue. I have to prioritise (Includes Paid Promotion" content over this kind of content, as I am gifted a watch I can sell on eBay, and or a review fee payment. Try to appreciate I have reviewed over 300 watches in the last 2 years 9 months, a massive body of work. I am now at a stage where I don't create content for 5-10 USD AdSense revenue per video. I create content that gains me hundreds of Euro per video, without any editing whatsoever. Regards, #WR4K

The only reason I did suggest the idea of a Christmas gift video is that your state of collection video was very well executed and you added pieces that are in my respectable price point and seemed something more obtainable when keeping in mind that I may gift these to friends and don't want to be spending x amount of dollars on each piece. I recommend the reseller below Toby, as they are currently selling 2022 stock of the black dial/bezel PD-1661. Therefore they should have the better bezel action, as per this Smurf one. Please note the black dial/bezel version has polished centre links in the Oyster bracelet. If you want brushed centre links I recommend the Starbucks (black dial/green bezel) version. The SD1953 has better lume on the dial and hands, also a fully lumed bezel. The PD-1661 has screw pins in the bracelet versus push pins in the SD1953. The SD1953 V2 has a solid milled clasp with 6 micro adjustment holes. Therefore the SD1953 now has the edge over the PD-1661. Regards, #WR4K
Excellent review as always, John. You seem to be the most knowledgeable reviewer when it comes to Paganis. Would you say all of their 20mm steel bracelets are interchangeable? For example I want to put my jubilee from the 1651 Yachtmaster on my 1690 OP. Will it fit flush? I'm not sure if they use the same case.
No, they aren't all interchangeable. For example I tried a 1661 bracelet on a 1664, and 1692; and the end links are different thicknesses. The 1661, 1662, 1651, Jubilee and Oyster bracelets are interchangeable. The 1651 end links won't fit the 1690 as they are thicker. I also tried the 1661 on my 1703 and the end links don't fit. The 1692 and 1690 bracelets are interchangeable. Regards, #WR4K

Could you please address this issue with these Pagani Design boxes that nobody seems to notice. These boxes are strongly MAGNETIZED. They’re using magnetic locks. Do these magnetic locks not affect the watches in them?
I find your use of the word "unacceptable" somewhat confusing. Although you call the bracelet unacceptable you do in fact accept it if you buy this watch, as it's part of a package with the watch head. Perhaps a less absolute term would work better. I understand you are saying you wouldn't buy the bracelet for itself, and are perhaps saying you would buy the watch head alone at the price offered for the combination of watch head and bracelet. But those aren't the packages under consideration.
