I have to say that your review was quite professional, reassuring, no-nonsense, and non-biased. It was helpful to this timid, 1st time Pagani buyer. After watching this review twice, I ordered one for myself immediately. Thank you, and keep up the excellent work.
I was a bit against the Seiko mecha-quartz movement in this, but it feels just like a mechanical movement. Second hand sweep is totally smooth, and you don't notice the ticking of the tiny second hand at the bottom. Lovely looking watch, thanks Omega (Omega of the 1960s!)
Thank you for watching Alan. Glad you enjoyed it. Congratulations. Excellent choice. Great time to buy during the 11.11 sale. Wear yours in good health. Regards, #WR4K
What I find impressive about PD is that they make all these vastly different watches to a very high quality, whereas the brands that they mimic only make a handful of variants of the same watch only to a slightly higher degree of quality. That's really astonishing.
@@Godotlv5000 Thank you for watching. Agreed, the previous two Pagani Design pieces I reviewed were clear examples of the typical QC issues one experiences. Regards, #WR4K
@@Godotlv5000 yeah sure for the price point you would expect those. But then again Seiko has the same problem and they are much more expensive and I have seen quite a few Rolex's with qc issues aswell.
Another great review ! When I want a professional level review I turn to yours. I have had 2 real Omega Moonwatches in my life the first in 1974, which I wore everyday for 3 years. As for Pagani's homage I am about to pick one up. (Both my Omega's are gone now for decades) . I have some reluctance, because without the white hands etc. it doesn't look like a moon watch at first observation. However they really nailed the case geometry including the asymmetrical case sides ! I have ordered a Lunar Replic's velcro replica strap before I have the watch ...I think this will add some interest to the PD piece and make it more fun and realistic to wear. Finally your review is what finalized my decision to buy one. Thanks. (Can't afford a 3rd Speedie anymore )
Mine just arrived and unlike the demo version it has a matching balck date wheel (white text), guess I'm glad I didn't get the first batch. I'm awestruck, love this thing. Agree AR coating and more lume would take it up a notch, but still this is going to be one of my "go to" pieces in the collection. No wonder this general design has stood the test of time and remained virtually unchanged for many decades. Mine also came with the Pagani Design branded NATO that is of much higher quality than the usual NATO throw ins that I've gotten with other Pagani pieces (that were un branded). Now I have to debate if I want to pick up the Snoopy despite the mis-match dial/bezel color....
Thank you for watching Brian. Congratulations. Excellent choice. Wear yours in good health. Yes, the V2 looks better with the black date wheel. Regards, #WR4K
Thanks for the wonderful video. Great production and presentation. Owning a Speedmaster Professional and Bulova Lunar Pilot, I really love the look of this Pagani Design. There's one thing I really love about the Speedy...the 12 Hour register. I use it frequently to time things. Most homage watches give you the useless 24 Hour dial, and a pretty much useless 60 Second register.
Thank you for watching Larry. Glad you enjoyed it. Congratulations. Excellent choice. Great time to buy during the 11.11 sale. Wear yours in good health. Regards, #WR4K

Excellent review. Agree a black date wheel would be more in line with the dial, but the white date is easy to find and read. Not a deal breaker. Nice affordable chrono. Keep the reviews coming.
I think the Omega speedmaster is probably the coolest watch ever designed and with soda pop money I'll definitely take it. Buying this one as soon as possible

Apologies Max. I was testing a new microphone in this video, and after realised it is mono rather than stereo; hence it only recording on the left channel. I then changed to another stereo microphone to correct this. Regards, #WR4K
Fabulous review as always. I like how you dedicate the same amount of attention to Chinese homages as you do to high-end Swiss pieces. As for the watch, I really don't get why people say this is a fail because it doesn't have white hands. The submariner homages rarely have the right blue/black/green shades and no one bats an eye.
Thank you for watching. I prefer the silver hands to white hands; however this is subjective. Often collector prefer a homage to look as close to the original as possible. I prefer homage pieces to have some differences, rather than being a clone. Regards, #WR4K
What I find most appealing is the 40mm size. Over the past year, Pagani Design has stepped up its manufacturing and quality control. I currently own the Omega MOTM, but can't wear it as much as I'd like because of the areas and nighttime travels of my job with the occasional bar hopping in shady urban areas with shady women. This is the perfect solution to that problem and what's good about homage watches in general. I'm a big fan of Pagani's watches for that reason .
Me neither couldn’t afford a Speedmaster new costs 6400 euros. and this watch for 110 euros has everything in the package, like an expensive watch. Sapphire glass L316steel, ceramic bezel and a V63 Seiko meca movement.a beautiful finished bracelet. a lot of watch for little money. The mines is already underway. the V2 version. 11/11 bought for 76 euros.
Ive mentioned this in other forums. Those who are considering the moonswatch should rethink buying one and consider this one instead. Its a much higher quality homage to the original omega.
…link to the offer no longer available :/ The same pagani watch you reviewed is discribed with a dial diameter of 40mm, thickness of 13mm and a weight of 134g. I wanted to send you a pn with screenshot of it but couldn’t find a way.(?)

Thanks for the review. I bought it and it is really nice! Indeed, an anti-reflex coating would have been nice. The first click to adjust the date is tricky in my watch. Mine did not include a nato strap :-(
I wanted to add that I received my watch recently. I’d like to thank you again for your review. The watch is superb and feels wonderful. Of course, the look is spot on and very pleasing. I wanted to reiterate that your review was instrumental on my decision and rightly so, as you’re very neutral. Thanks again.
As others have noted below I can also confirm that new batches have a black background date wheel. I had to polish the whole watch with a jeweler’s cloth to de-burr sharp edges on the bracelet and clasp. The chronograph start pusher requires more pressure to activate than anticipated. It appears to be a movement feature and not the case pusher itself. Perhaps Seiko did that on purpose to prevent accidental activation?
Review builds up the anticipation of mine arriving what will likely be a month long wait, with so many people complaining about the lack of white hands and indicies, nice to hear a level headed review that this also looks good. Always appreciate the quality reviews and footage.
Good video Thanks for sharing. about this super watch. For that price. everything is in the package, like an expensive watch. Sapphire glass L316steel, ceramic bezel and a V63 Seiko meca movement. a lot of watch for little money. The mines is already underway. the V2 version. 11/11 bought for 76 euros.
Thank you for detailed review. Bought V3 after watching this review. I feel this is far superior to moon swatch. Please review V3 also. I am expecting mine in 3 wks.
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Apologies, I was testing a new studio microphone in this review. Unfortunately it only records in mono on one channel, so I have gone back to using my previous microphone. Regards, #WR4K
You could not buy all the component parts for less money than the constructed piece costs. Domed Sapphire Crystal, Seiko VK63 movement, Ceramic Bezel Insert, 100m water resistant case, signed crown, Stainless Steel 5 part link and solid end link bracelet, Engraved Screwdown Caseback, Dial and Hands, Signed NATO Strap, Boxed, Packaging & Shipping. You simply could not assemble this watch yourself for less than it costs delivered. Excellent value, I have the V3 which is fantastic value.
Hey I think you forgot to add this review into the #ChampagneWatchForLemonadeMoney playlist and the tag itself for the video. But anyways I'm sold! Will there be a re-review of the V2 in the future?
I think play in the bracelet is a good thing, and I think it's intentional, just like in Jubilee bracelets, the flex of the links allows the bracelet to conform to the wrist and be comfortable. My SKX Jubilee is easily the most comfortable bracelet I own and it doesn't pinch arm hairs. By contrast my Seiko Orange Monster bracelet has zero flex or play, and it makes it feel like a manacle. It's fine but having flex is more comfortable for me.
They also wrote “stainless stell” on the caseback of the V1. Orthographic errors are unacceptable at any price point. But it looks like they corrected it in the V2. The fact that yours has the correct spelling indicates that this is probably the V2 already.
Bro, I got the V2 version. what i can see👀. is one thing. That's "" that the day pointer. is a Black background and the letters are white. Looks Better✨and everything on the back is spelled correctly Stainless Steel
@@johncarter6238 nice one! I remember seeing an official PD video on it and it was spelled wrong. Maybe it was just a prototype. 🤷🏻♂️ I’m glad to hear PD has finally decided to color match the date window with the dial. Not color matching was/is totally unacceptable (especially with the date window at 4.5h which can break the dial symmetry and completely ruin the aesthetics of the piece).
@@CarlosCoelhoLechner Yes the V2 version watch looks great, so they made an improvement anyway. that was unclear at first?? and Boom: I noticed it immediately when I unpacked it. hope there will be a V3 with white hands and white markers. I'll be the first to buy it. I can't see any other improvements as I don't have the V1 to compare. But this v2 is the best price/quality deal on the market right now. I am super happy with my Moon Watch homage.for $100. Wand a new $6500 Omega is outrageous. steel is steel and sapphire glass is sapphire glass. and a mechanical movement even if it costs 10,000 can't beat a quartz movement with precision. The V63 seiko mechaquartz hybrid mechanical in the Pagani is unbeatable
It actually looks better than I expected it to be, I kinda regret not getting it in the sale. A V2 has been released already but I don't know what improvements they've made over the V1.
I have exactly the same watch but date is white number on black and NATO strap for the price of 90 euros (sales time) all fees included It's my second Pagani (the other is the white Daytona hommage) Very nice watch .. no probs with the bracelet .. accurate .. just the negative is the non IR coating .. lume is very poor ... but as I sleep the night (usually) .. Yes, Pagani Design updated the PD-1701 V2 with a black date wheel which looks better. I also prefer a black date wheel with white Arabic numerals. Regards, #WR4K
Pagani Design should work on their glasses. If they would add anti reflective coating on their watch glasses they would destroy the market! That's for sure! Many model numbers look cheapy cause of the missing ar coating.
The pre 2020 tag aquaracer (which the PD copies) has a pressed divers extension also and that’s over £2k, so I wouldn’t say it’s to bad on a £100 watch!
Thank you for watching Jake. Glad you enjoyed it. The sub dial at 9 is for 60 minutes, at 6 it is for 60 seconds, at 3 it is for 24 hours. Regards, #WR4K
When changing the date on a quarts watch, do you follow the same rules as you would for an automatic. For example, set the time to 6 am, then set the date, and then set the time accordingly. I always follow this rule with my automatic watch, but I'd just like to knoww that I need to be doing the same with my quarts, not to damage the date mechanism.
There is a misconception about VK63. The mechanical section of the movement, even though made of wheels and pinions, does NOT contain any automatic/perpetual capability. It runs exclusively on the battery, both the time and the chronograph. There is no rotor, no mechanical power reserve, no manual winding. Power is just the battery. The mechanical aspect is just that the movement is transferred and delivered through wheels and pinions. If you leave the watch on your night stand for 6 month it will still run.
"There is a misconception about VK63." I haven't seen evidence of this online. The majority of collectors seem to know the VK63 is a mecha-quartz which is battery powered. I have reviewed several watches using the VK63, and VK64; and have never seen any confusion in the comments regarding it being a mecha-quartz, rather than mechanical movement. See the VK63 disassembly video below, it may interest you. Regards, #WR4K ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pbllQ5vhPXI.html

@@lundsweden Thank you for watching Andy. The 2 year battery life is based upon the chronograph being used 60 minutes per day. In reality the battery life is typically 3+ years. Regards, #WR4K
Question for you WR4k.....What technique would you recommend, for removing very sharp outer edges, to the inside of a 316L SS, bracelet. I'm looking for an effective technique, that will not affect the "vertical-brushed finishing," of the inside of the bracelet, if possible. Even though it's to the inside where it would not be seen while on wrist, it still is important to me, to try to maintain the appearance, for my own person approval. As it is though, I find the piece to be rather uncomfortable to wear, for extended periods of time, as the inner edges are almost truly razor sharp. Any advice you could offer, in this matter, would be greatly appreciated. All the best, from across "the pond."
I removed the sharp edges from my PD-1701 using a Dremel 3000 and sanding wheel. Then a cotton wheel with green jewelers rouge. Lastly I restored the brushed satin finish using a ScotchBrite pad (green back of washing up sponge). My tip is to remove the bracelet, open the clasp fully; including the extension link, then stick it down to a desk top using double sided tape. This will hold the bracelet straight, and you have two hands free to control the Dremel. I found this removed all the sharp edges, but unfortunately it still pulled my arm hair so I don't use the PD-1701 bracelet. I am now going to try and fit a PD-1661 Oyster bracelet to it; as these don't have sharp edges. Regards, #WR4K
I have the CORGEUT speedmaster and I noticed the minute hand go a little forward when I reset the chronograph. It doesn't always happen, just sometimes. Is this normal? because I read in forums that it also happens in more expensive watches (Tudor for example)
@@watchreviews4k thanks for answering! actually, the chronograph hand does return to 12 o'clock, but at the same time the minute hand advances 1/4 of a second.
The subdial at 3 o'clock is purely a 24 hour time indicator (annoyingly). Not related to the chronograph. Good to have something there though I guess, even if useless
Thank you for watching John. The domed crystal doesn't have AR coating, and is highly reflective; therefore it reflects regardless of the angle. Regards, #WR4K
@@watchreviews4k Absolutely, the AR or lack of it is clear, but once the point is made it makes for uncomfortable viewing experience. Must the a different of skinning the cat. Just saying. Thinking about getting the V3 which has a better date complication, and probably better value for money that the Omega/Swatch effort.
Yes, Stephanie this will fit a 6.5% wrist. However be aware the edges of the bracelet, and centre links have sharp edges. Therefore it is far more comfortable on a leather, or rubber strap. The other thing to consider is its 42mm diameter so has wrist presence. It is best suited to a 7-8" wrist. On your 6.5" wrist you may find it to feel top heavy and too large to feel comfortable wearing for long periods such as 8-12 hours per day. I wore mine on a leather strap, and found it far more comfortable than the bracelet as it reduced the heft. Regards, #WR4K

Hola Luis, tambien pienso que Alpha y Phylida tienen los modelos muy solidos. If I use any of my watches in a swimming pool, I wash my watch under clean water from a tap or bottle when I get home. Don't know if this is necessary but the ammonia additive in swimming pools is somewhat corrosive and could cause damage to the finish or possibly cause the Bezel Insert to debond and loosen dependant on the adhesive used.

Very good and thorough review, but you are extremely repetitive. I don't mean the summary at the end but throughout. Probably could have trimmed at least 5 minutes off.
With these watches it rather depends how much you pay and what want from it. If you want a look alike then fairplay it's not bad and in some areas ,like the case and dial, it's very good. But if , like me, you detest hands that don't line up with markers or don't even sit at rest in line then it's pretty bad. The chrono second is of it's mark by 1/2 a second and is 10 seconds off as it tracks round, and the running second hand never hits it's mark also the chrome hands vanish in most lighting situations, the lume is the worst I've seen. Sekonda do quartz 1/10 chronos for £50 that look amazing but aren't look alikes. In short £80 or under and they're worth a go. I'll probably put white hands on the subs and realign them. If it had that from new I'd go £200 on one. As it is its a pretty poor chrono in a very good case. Oh and lastly if thats sapphire then I'm a Martian, sapphire coated mineral at best. They would have been better with hardlex
@@watchreviews4k we'll agree to disagree. I've got a couple of sapphire crystal, one heuer one AP. They are like an ice cube on the forehead test. They list these as synthetic sapphire. It's not a deal breaker. I've also got the cocktail pagani, which is also good, there's quite a few speedy look alikes out there and I think most are a little better in the mentioned areas and all are the same watch rebranded. I enjoyed your review by the way.
@@kevinjamesdawes7223 Other reviewers have tested the sapphire. It’s legit. ( I do wonder what superpower you possess to be able to differentiate a sapphire crystal from hardlex by viewing a video. Most of us mortals need to use a tester to do that). All crystals are synthetic. The hands and indices, being polished, reflect well in the dimmest light and are visible and legible. They also make the watch a little dressier and classy. The lume does suck, though
Thank you for watching Christopher. You are mistaken, Pagani Design could use the Seagull ST19 which is a manual wind mechanical movement. San Martin have used it in their Black Bay Chronograph homage for example. Regards, #WR4K
