Not sure how much intel matters to Guy considering he doesn't even remember his opponents. One of my favorite scenes was when Kisame acknowledged Guy as a formidable opponent and Guy was like “who are you?”

Kisame (even at 30% power) has a huge advantage underwater though. I wish the series had given us more opportunities to see sixth gate, but I think it’s way stronger than depicted in this video

There is a reason why Team Guy wasn't in the village when Pain attacked...8th Gate would demolish Pain.7 7 Gatess would maybe lose in the same situation that Naruto was in, but the village would have been way stronger with him being there, to a point where Pain maybe couldn't take over like he did.

The thing is, Guy wasn’t alone during the Pain Arc at any time. He had Rock Lee, Tenten, and Neji with him. So this battle should be Team Guy vs Pain. Let’s be honest, Tenten is basically useless here, but the other 3 are skilled enough where the only Pain I see them having a problem with would be the Deva Path.

I feel like the power of 7th gate guy was really underestimated in this video

Guy's best strategy is to start with a lower level of power and work upwards. The main problem is that, even though Might Guy can beat Pain in raw power, the use of bodies as avatars makes Pain able to survive by having one body (even if it's Nagato) distant and waiting for Guy to collapse exhausted I think 6th gate guy is relevant. 6th gates weren't needed to match 1/3rd power Kisame. 6 gates were needed to quickly overwhelm Kisame. Because the gates buffs don't last long and drain you, they're best used to end fights quickly, so going a gate above what's necessary to win is probably a good idea. 8th gate guy might be able to kill all the paths with one attack unless they disperse a lot I would assume that he can chuck the animals away. I don't know why the strength buffs from opening the gates just wouldn't apply to throwing or lifting. Pain's best strategy is to get the Animal Path far away so he can get the other pains out of there, especially the one that resurrects the other paths. To facilitate this, he could launch attacks with the other paths and summon a bunch of animals, then use shinra tensei to create distance. Nagato surviving and Guy being exhausted means, I think, that Pain would probably win overall even if Guy took out the paths with the 7th gate

You never took into account Guy's hearing. Its been told that melee combat is all 5 senses; if Lee can use it from his training, so can Guy. He doesn't really need to see things to counter them

Guy is one of the most interesting character, it should have had more time. It actually represent the power that the normal individual could reach by hard work, without any gift like other characters

6 Paths Pain probably wouldn't be able to touch Guy in 7th Gate; he's way too fast for them. They're relatively fragile as hell, too; Rasengan and Frog-Fu basically one-shotted them. There's a reason why Kishi wrote Guy out of the Pain Invasion Arc. He knew the freak beast was packing major heat.

That’s the thing about the Eight Gates: I struggle to say someone “wins” with the eighth gate because they also die as a result without contrivance no jutsu. I feel like you can win using up to the seventh gate and opening number eight is when you accept that you’re not winning and want to force a draw. Also, if we’re having this fight within the context of the actual plot by having Guy pop up in Konoha instead of Naruto and company at the exact same time as they did originally, this fight just doesn’t happen. Animal Path just reverse summons Deva Path right on out of there and they head off to Mt. Myoboku.😁

I agree 8th gate Guy would stomp the 6 paths of pain, however, I also agree he won't be able to track down Nagato so ultimately Pain wins as Nagato can always just make new paths and come back later.

While this might not be the best place to put up thoughts on the Rasenshuriken, I've always pictured it as a careful balance of elements. My theory on how it works is: The training for the Rasengan implies it needs a perfect balance of inertia of chakra and control of the vectors to maximize effectiveness. The Rasenshuriken is a step up, but the introduction of a new element makes it far more volatile, hence why the backlash is so severe. But sage chakra is a new stabilizing element which makes it able to be thrown. But the fundamental structure shouldn't have changed, which means it's still a chaotic storm of chakra, just carefully shaped and now in a sturdier shell of sage chakra which helps it to maintain its circular vector pattern. Shinra Tensei directly exerts force on everything within range, which is what makes it so powerful. It can be resisted, but it's real tricky to do that when literally every atom of your body is trying to go away from from the enemy. So... Shinra Tensei isn't head on competing with the sheer power of the Rasenshuriken. It's destabilizing its structure by circumventing the sage shell and pushing the storm of chakra out of its carefully determined directions, to make it destroy its own shell and dissipate. It's a matchup of fundamental structures on how the powers work, rather than power... or that's how I rationalize it.

Gai is all about strenght and speed and he's surely tailed beast level from seventh gate up. There's a very solid reason Gai was out the village whn Pain attacked: The manga is not called Gai.

I actually think Gai is a pretty good counterpick to Pain. No Ninjutsu to be absorbed for starters, visually linked makes no difference when you're as fast as Gai, and the 5 second gap between gravity manipulation is plenty of time for a gated gai to just 1-shot a few of them.

Kishimoto knew that Guy would shit on Pain. He made sure he was outside the village.

If guy go 8th Gate, it's a 5 second fight. Not sure how 7th Gate fight will go. He'll need at least 6 attacks with 7th gate's punch. Not sure if he can do that. He seemed pretty weakened after using 1 punch on Kisame (though he and Kakashi were on drugs in the war). If he doesn't have any limits on number of punches he can deliver (and instead just a time limit), battle will be very much in Guy's favour. But I don't think that's the case. Anyways, 1 pain (chakra absorbing) is useless against Guy. So only needs to kill 5. Probably would need to kill the resurrector followed by Shinra tensai user.

If Guy keeps his weights on, he is technically slower. Depending on how large of a multiplier you think the gates give, the difference in speed can be noticeable or marginal at best. I think the gates give a massive boost so therefore no noticeable difference in speed. However, if Guy keeps the weights he receives a boost in force that will stack with the eight gates multiplier f =ma The weights influence mass and barely influence acceleration. If you think the gates give a tiny boost then my points fall apart.

The only real issues would be the main Pain path and the summoning path. Given theres a 5 second cooldown im fairly sure Guy's path 7 speed would be enough to utilize those 5 seconds to murk Pain.

7th gate speed blitz all of the pains. 8th gate is overkill.

Good view overall but at 4:41...I have to disagree, Swag. Gate 6 Guy ended Kisame’s clone’s life mad quick. Gate 6 Guy doesn’t not equal 30 percent Kisame, there is clearly a much larger disparity between the two.

A lot of people think Gai and Lee are just goofy characters, failing to realize how awesome they are. Granted, the series kinda relegated them to the side after Shippuden came around, but I really like their "Train, try until you make it" moto, being hands down the best Taijustsu characters in the series. Not to mention, their power-up actually has drawbacks, unlike the Uchiha who invent a power every Arc and have ways to bypass all their restrictions or Naruto, who becomes better because protagonist power (at a point he doesn't even train anymore, just unlocks the powers with the power of friendship).

Technically it would be a draw bc pain would die and guy would die from opening the 8th gate
