It's not just do to the fact that Madara is ridiculously powerful, but that he grew up in the warring state period where he pretty much experienced war on a daily basis for most of his life. So his reflexes are incredibly sharp and can effortlessly fight a battalion of shinobi like he did against the shinobi alliance and how he just toyed with the 5 kage. Warfare is like muscle memory for Madara. So whenever Swag brought up, "If ____ can do this, then there's no reason madara can't" is exactly on point.

The biggest issue with teamwork and the Akatsuki is that the Akatsuki is made up of incredibly powerful *solo* fighters. They aren't really shinobi in the classic sense that we're used to seeing in the Naruto world; by that, I mean that their experience or strength in *team* strategy is lower than even your average Leaf Jonin. Obito and Itachi have reasonable experience as former Leaf ninja (particularly Itachi from his ANBU experience), the paths of Pain work in essentially perfect harmony with each other, and Hidan and Kakuzu made a decent duo. However, none of this implies that any of them would naturally be prepared or equipped for complex 10-plus-person strategy. Even if the most intelligent members of the Akatsuki (i.e. Itachi) were to concoct a strategy, it doesn't guarantee that the personalities or weaknesses of the less intelligent members wouldn't get in the way. Moreover, any team strategy would most likely boil down to using most members as a complex distraction so one person can deliver a max-damage attack, which Madara would likely see through and be able to counter (assuming that the Akatsuki members were all humble enough to swallow their pride and temporarily act as fodder for someone else to land the killing blow, which is also extremely unlikely). Each member of the Akatsuki was formidable because they were each considered a one-man army. Even when members worked in tandem, the strategy essentially devolved into "You take care of those guys and I'll take care of these ones." It wasn't about pulling off combo-jutsu like Naruto and Sasuke were frequently shown doing; it was simply about giving each other room enough to do their own thing, which is *not* the same thing as team strategy. Team strategy is an interesting argument, but there's nothing to suggest that the Akatsuki could pull it off even marginally, let alone seamlessly. And, against someone like Madara, the slightest misstep or miscue from one member of the team would likely give him the opening he needs to completely dismantle their plan. And then there's the perfect susano'o lol gg

Countering the argument about Sasori's Poison, I'd argue that Madara wouldn't even inhale them as he's pretty much fought against Hashirama's Wood Style Pollen Jutsu that is significantly more deadly than any poison Sasori could conjure up.

The Sasori poison argument can be more easily made when you remember that even the smallest scratch from any of his weapons is gonna poison you. So hypothetically speaking if he manages to cut Madara’s skin at all then he’ll be poisoned. Now, granted, the poison does takes 3 days to take full effect, but at least it’s a somewhat viable argument to make.

The reason that Perfect Susano'o counters everything is because: 1. Attack potency 2. Practically indestructible. Not *actually* indestructible, it's just that almost nothing in the war arc would be strong enough to damage it. And, as those who have done their homework know, Susano'o is Japanese for *f u c k i n g u n s t o p p a b l e* .

The only thing Madara has to worry about is the totsuka blade and Obito. He could still just nuke the battlefield with a couple of meteors like he did with the allied shinobi forces.

Why is Izanami even a debate? You have to doubt yourself for the jutsu to work. Madara was always confident in himself. The jutsu just won't on him. In fact, as strong as the jutsu is, it wouldn't even work on 99% of the cast.

I been seeing some "Black Zetsu killed Madara" comments and I'm gonna address that. Black Zetsu didn't kill him, he corrupted/infused him with Kaguya's chakra and he morphed into Kaguya. If you heard the Sage of Six Paths speaking you would have heard that what actually killed was that the Ten Tails was sucked out of him.

All I'm hearing is that all Madara needs to do is summon his Susanoo and he wins hard. Because it counters just about everything they have. Barring maybe Itachi's genjutsu. So literally all the man has to do is blitz Itachi, and he's won. Which, considering Madara knows Itachi is an Uchiha, isn't that far fetched to think Madara would not prioritize Itachi first knowing that Uchiha have powerful genjutsu. Their only chance is to give Itachi an opening, which, Madara would clearly be able to counter by simply SWINGING ONCE with his Perfect Susanoo. Odds are before they even get a chance, a majority of Akatsuki would fall under Madara's genjutsu first. Madara is a man forged by war. He's always ready, and the ONLY person who managed to land a sneak attack on him was HASHIRAMA. Who he fought for a full day, to the point where he didn't have enough chakra to use his sharingan. The ONLY one they MIGHT have a chance against is final valley Madara. Who still has a perfect Susanoo. Madara is just, broken compared to the Akatsuki. And that should be evident. He was the big bad.

Now here is my thought on how the Akatsuki could hypothetical win against Madara. Still its pretty unlikely and it relies on Madara not using any clones. So Madara would use his Susanoo directly at the beginning because he doesn't want to underestimate them. After that Pain would spawn all his summons. Deidara, Maybe Sasori (if he has the range or he can fly because of one of his puppets), and the Summons that can fly, fly to the head of the Susanoo to annoy and distract Madara and to try and break the Susanoo head. At the same time Kisame uses his Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave jutsu thing and starts absorbing the chakra from the Susanoo at the legs. Surely Madara will notice that and will try to stop him with the Susanoo Sword. Pain can probably push it away with all mighty Push. But the cooldown for that is longer than Madara needs to swing it again so Itachi is trying to block it with the Yata Mirror. Maybe that might be enough time that the legs of the Susanoo breaks and the Susanoo and Madara falls. Because Kisame was at the legs Madara would fall into the Water pool that got way bigger because of all the chakra. This water than turns into many paper bombs that Konan was preparing since the beginning of the fight. Madara would survive that for sure but maybe he would get a bit of damage. Kakuzo and Sasori would look with there puppets for that one drop of blood and then bring it to Obito as fast as possible. After that Obito would bring it into the Kamui dimension where Hidan is already waiting. Then Hidan is going to do his ritual and kill Madara. Now I know there are many things that might not exactly work like that and Madara would fight really passively in that scenario but it's the best team play by the Akatsuki that I could come up with. What do you guys think.

Considering the potential nagato had due to the rinnegan letting him learn jutsu stupidly easy, I'd love to have seen a fight between "Full potential" Nagato vs Edo tensei madara. Imagine Nagato pulling out the 8-gates and then stacking it onto the asura path, shit would be awesome.

Daidaras bombs would be more effective underwater due to the shock waves of the explosion. When a grenade or some type of explosive goes off underwater, the shock wave from the blast will rupture any organ I'm the body because there is liquid to be moved around. But I don't think that it would be enough for just daidara and kisamea to kill Madara

I know I'm waaaaaaaay late to this discussion but I would just like to say that, even if by some miracle the Akatsuki managed to kill Madara, he can use Izanagi to rewrite reality so he survives anyway. So the Akatsuki have to kill Madara not once, not twice, but three times in a row!

An explosive's force (as long as it can still explode lol) is amplified underwater because of the density of the atoms. Meaning that because there are more atoms to move through the force of the explosion will travel farther and keep more power as it travels. Not that it would help them win. But they might have a chance if Kisame creates the lake around him, somehow gets Madara underwater, and sets off Deidara's jutsu combined with Konan's sea of paper bombs plus any other jutsu the akatsuki can add in would honestly be their best shot at taking him out.

Even if Madara is hit by some of the major attacks from the Akatsuki and somehow dies, he can use Izanagi.
