WOW, never heard about water colour pencils before today, very impressed, have ordered some off amazon, gotta give it a go, thank you Charles, you have given me some inspiration to get back into my painting again, great video.
I find watercolor pencils a lot easier to work with than watercolor paints. Could you please make more videos with watercolor pencils? Your paintings are absolutely amazing and I am your big fan! Greetings from New York!
Most artists would say; don't use watercolors for backgrounds because of how easy they reactivate even when dry. But you did the whole thing in watercolor alone. WOW!
Path and not 'parth' is absolutely fine by me. In my neck of the woods I say Bath and Glastonbury, and not Barth and Glarsetonbury! I first gave watercolour pencils a try something over a year ago when I was working away from home during the week and I wanted to create art in the evenings. I used to stay in my caravan, so not a lot of space and you want to avoid making a mess! 50 or so pieces of watercolour pencil art later and what a difference! I am currently working on a scene of a loch in the Scottish Highlands with the reflections of the mountains on the other side of the loch on the water. I had already started colouring when this video appeared in my feed but your video will help me take it the last step of the way!
Charles, I've just spent all morning watching two of your water colour pencil videos and feel so enlivened to use my Prisma water colours again, thank you so much. I have both rough, CPNot and smooth water colour paper and given that I have picked up so many techniques, I can do three paintings using the same colours but on different surfaces to see what I like best. I use tube water colour paints also, all artist quality and, although I live in Australia where our colours are different, I do adore the softer colours of the English landscape. I have adored spending this time with you, love your sense of humour and the way you interact with your students online. My next step is to check out how you paint with acrylics because, yes I use them too!! I'm also an oil painter but love the immediacy of watercolour pencils and watercolour when painting outdoors. One can never say "I'm bored" as there is so much beauty to capture and videos showing how easy it really is to paint like a pro, help everyone who wants to express themselves this way. Thank you again Charles, I am eager to explore your website now. Hugs and yes, love, from country Victoria. xx
You’re a gem. I’d love to do one of your painting workshops in France or England but I have an aged cat who needs me. You know what it’s like Charles, they give us so much love, we must return that at the end. 😻
Really love your watercolour pencil demonstrations. I've got your Quick and Clever book but love seeing the videos as well. Would love to see more. As you say they are great to take out and about.
When you first started this picture I thought OMG that's not up to your usual standard Charles , bit messy, BUT my God you soooo proved me wrong. Wonderful how you brought it all together with the light and dark shadow. Love it. Keep 'em coming Charles, loving this series and thank you
Aw I lover your videos. Just starting with watercolour and love it. Actually live just a couple of miles from Willie Lotts cottage and the scene of John Constables The Haywain. Beautiful.
Hi Charles, it's great to see you're still active as usual. I've always enjoyed your cartoons, and feel that watercolour is the absolute BEST medium for portraying that kind of look. Thanks for this, very instructive.
You are without question the best instructor on RU-vid. My feeble attempts amazes me after following your instructions. However my drawing has a lot to be desired. I figured out what I'm doing wrong. My pencil is TOO LONG! I will go to a Maryland lottery office and get a short one 💖🕜
Thanks, Charles, I learn so much each time I watch you paint. I hope you and your family are managing to stay well in these odd times. Looking forward to your next painting now go put your feet up and enjoy a well-earned cuppa.
@@charlesevans7706 So enjoying your work and lessons. Those horses and riders incredible also in background. Do you do the sky before you go out to location? You may have said so excuse if you covered that?
Thanks greatly Charles for sharing how you achieve amazing picture using watercolour pencils, good to see you're keeping safe and healthy. Enjoyed the video as always
This is very nice. My wife and I watched it yesterday during lunch. It is amazing how properly adding shadow brings a painting to life. Charles you are certainly a master at that. I was very curious about the lines and dots in the foreground, but the water effect made by that, wow! Thanks.
Thank you for this, I use watercolour pencils to make cards for family and friends and this is so full of ideas and techniques to help me be more adventurous with my designs/subjects. Loved watching it. X
Good Evening Charles , many thanks for this pencil water colour, highlighting the shadows and reflections in the water. The finished painting turned out lovely.. your explanation and tips along the way are very much appreciated. Hope your all keeping well....take care
Thank you so much Charles for another great tutorial. I have some watercolour pencils & must have used them about once but you have inspired me to get them out & have a go at this 😊
Enjoyed this video.... it takes the pressure and tension off my head and makes painting fun!! I smiled and laughed to see how simple and easy it can all be!! Thanks a lot 🙏🙏🙏🙏
opa.... que aula sensacional...estou retornando aos lapis aquarelável...agora perto dos 70....espero te alcançar nas técnicas...heheh....graçias. pedro - rio grande do sul brasil
I have several sets of watercolor pencils including Lyra, Faber-Castell and Caran D'Arch and use them to add detail to my paintings. After drawing my subject I use watercolor paint to block in areas then apply the pencils. I can either activate the paint or leave. Greetings from Croydon Australia
Briliant once again Mr E . just had water colour pencils bought for my birthday can,t wait to try them out all though they are not the ones you use they do not give me the colour name only a number any way I shall try my best
I really enjoyed watching and having a go at this Charles - and I learned so much about light/shade, light angles, blending different colours, and more. I have had a go at all of your watercolour pencils videos whilst I'm building up my confidence to go with proper watercolour paints. Thank you so much - Martin. PS Will you do some more watercolour pencil videos please?
I'm trying to do more with watercolour pencils but have trouble with the shadows. Please will you do some more demonstrations using them. I love your demos and have tried to most of them except the racehorses which looks very hard. Thanks for sharing with us your knowledge and talent. Barbara
Charles - Do you offer watercolor pencil painting online courses? This was really fun watching your country manor house painting with watercolor pencils.
