Restoration carried out by the CCA in 1992. New version of the video that describes, in Italian, cleaning, reassembling and reintegration of a glass window destroyed by a bomb and arrived in Italy in more than 3600 fragments.
Outstanding, I can’t believe how they were able to do this or even know how to go about putting the glass together How many hours days people did it take to put this glass back together, how old was this panel
If they had double glazed it with half inch plexiglass or lexan there would have been no damage. There is no excuse for not covering these windows. That's how we do it in America, pure ignorance is not tolerated.
It needs to be pointed out, reminding you, this thing was hit by the blast wave of a one quarter ton bomb with dynamite added into anfo. That would blow plexiglass out as well. Are you a stained glass artist or engineer, or even a window glazer? Do you have any qualifications to support your mean spirited criticism? One of the first things an invading army did was to demoralize the populace by destroying the home churches. Shining path hit the banks and businesses and got the cathedral too.
