We finally get to painting MAt Armstrong's classic BMW E24 635 CSI. What a major milestone this is and what a journey this build has been. From the rusty heap it came to us as and now it looks better than factory! It has turned out amazing!
We then took @MatArmstrongbmx E24 and @Shmee150 Porsche 914 down to @Petrolheadonism underground at Wembley. What a show and what an experience that was! Our first show where we took some of our builds and it was amazing. We cannot thank Chiro & the other creators enough for the fantastic weekend. We even got up on stage!
In the next video in this series, we will be releasing some well kept plans, so stick around for the next leg of this journey & thanks for watching!

I saw Matt’s car at petrolhedinism and even at very close inspection you cannot see ANY repair to body and underside, the paint finish surpasses concours condition and both Ryan and Steve as well as the Dinitrol guys spent all their time chatting to all who wanted to be entertained. Massive thanks for making it possible to meet you.

Painters overalls should always be worn. They not only protect yourself but prevent fibres from leaving clothing and sticking to the paint surface.

Outstanding work as expected from you fella's. We have to work on that exhaust fan and filters for the spray booth just to avoid solvent pop and not totally rely on your face mask to filter out all that paint and those harmful fumes. 😮 Keep up saving cars from the crusher! you know how much i like bmw it goes right threw the family and that 6 series your doing for matt is really much appreciated sorry i could not be there but i am paralysed from a brain heammorrage etc and diabetes type 1 with 4 injections a day with blood each time , but still living , i cant wait until that bmw is finished but i am sure that matt will come along and help . regards

Well played Lads. One thing is true in car restorations: the final paint job will find all the faults in the metalwork and there were NONE! And was that Tavares on the stage far left? Always liked the '6er' - it was classy and looked the part. Hard act to follow the classic 3.0 CS cars.

When I was a kid in the early seventies I built a plastic model 914 and painted it blue and thought it was a very pretty little car. Then back in either 1989 or 1990 I pulled up behind a blue 914 at the traffic lights in elephant and castle, the first one I ever saw in the flesh and yes it is a very pretty car Makes me wonder if it wasn't the same 914 I'm seeing now, 🤔

⚠️The talent and craftsmanship you guys restore cars with is outstanding. The idea of powder coating the car and actually doing it is excellent to. But I don’t read anything about seamsealing. And the original seals are all definitely melted after baking the chassis at 180 degrees Celsius. So if no new sealing will be applied it will still be rust over the place on places you don’t see immediate. What do guys think?

Technical question. Has powder coating advanced to the point where it adheres better to the metalwork, especially on the underside where its exposed to stone chipping. I'm thinking of the problems that TVR experienced where the chassis seemed ok but the metal had rusted away under the coating.
