Great video and you have proved that aging and rust finishes are not easy to perfect. Personally I use a lot of pigments for my rusty projects with a light Matt varnish to fix them spraying from a distance. Great end result 😁👍🏻

To be honest, I actually liked the look of the "failed" gheists but I do realize that this look wasn't the one you were after; I got a box of Bladegheists for christmas and I might do some with this color scheme in mind :)

best way to fix dry pigment to models is just brush it on dry like normal, then seal your models with matt varnish. army painter makes a great mat varnish.

pretty cool channel, good work! btw, you can modulate the color of the rust of dirty bomb with water, by pooling it in the recesses or, making thinner layers on different parts, depending the amount of paint it is on an area it will dry more dark or lighter, and with water will change the tone to yellows.

also, cheap isopropyl alcohol works better than airbrush thinner and it's way cheaper, and you put that on first, then dab brush dry pigment on top of it.

Watching this is such a barrel of mixed emotions! 🤣 I recognize all the frustrating steps I took to learn how to use dirty down and the mistakes I made, but to see you push through and create something amazing is so satisfying! I'm a huge fan of all of that texture and the darkening of the bottom of the model was very clever! Would love to chat some time about my process and your own

That is a really cool idea for ghost! I'm glad you didn't give up on your idea! I've been painting and crafting for years and have made countless mistakes and some times it crushes me and I give up on the hobby for a few weeks. I'm forcing myself to keep going by writing and promoting a skirmish game rule book. I plan to have tons of pictures of my minis. This forces me to keep chugging away at it even if I fail.

Ye, this paint is really tricky, and if you use water on it it gives orange-yellow rusty splotches. So... Meh. Same with the moss one, wich sadly turns to bee to whiteis too. Thank you for your mistakes :D

I painted my hero the wrong scheme and just repainted my entire army, i forgot i could just repaint him. Btw you should have sooo many more subs, your great!

Used a sponge to apply some shade as a weathering effect and accidentally ruined the models legs by making it waaay too dark and messy. Had to repaint it from base coat upward.
