I was struggling with my seascape, I have a difficult to painting waves at large sea, away from shores. Building a wave in rough sea, where I paint under less sky lights, cold colors, Atlantic dark waves. In a Tropical sea I got it.

Hi Joe... Betty here (your same birthday lady). * Remember I said you were going to be very famous for your work some day? It's been awhile sense I watched you paint. You say your nerves are shaking now... that's not good... I'll pray for you. * WOW... but your work is still the greatest... even IMPROVED!! * I would love to watch your usual painting methods, but with out having to stop to explain every little detail. it seems MAGICAL to watch YOU in particular to paint your scenes & bring them to life... I could watch you paint all day but with out interupting your progress with a lot of unnecessary questions. * I'm a WATCHER... I can learn much quicker by just watching a painting in progress. * God bless you mural Joe and stay safe!! 😏⚘

Must tell you I had just returned from Galveston; just hated to leave. While there I tried to “draw” the waves. For me drawing involves focused seeing, not necessarily producing a perfect rendering, but a deeper knowledge of the subject. Along with coming away with only a vague sense of what I was trying was the idea I wouldn’t be returning to Galveston any time soon. Quite happily I turned on RU-vid and there was wonderful you, marvelously painting the sea! You are an exceptional fellow…not just your artwork. Don’t fret the little hand tremble, being nervous, shy, whatever. There has to be some limit to how fine one person can be. Now that I’ve wrecked your humility, thank you so much for your generosity in sharing the gifts God has given you.

I really like what you've come up with using light spectrum to influence pigment choices. Mixing paint vs. mixing light. I love how red and green light makes yellow. (Traffic stop lights~ red, yellow green) Understanding the 🌈 rainbow ROYGBIV has been revolutionary to technology and has been studied again and again. Your color theory technique, which is the first time I've ever heard of this approach and is just brilliant. Just want to thank you for your innovative thinking, beautiful art, generous heart and excellent teaching. It makes the world a better place. Sincerely, Randy Chavez SFAI Allum Also, I spent a lot of time controlling my breathing and concentrating on keeping my hands from shaking, I think if you focus on consciously making a deliberate effort to relax and breath you may be able to stop the shaking. It has work for stopping my legs and feet from shaking and even from snoring, just by focusing on whatever it is you want to stop and just breathe. You need to come up with a good name for your discovery and get it out there. It is really great Sincerely, Randy Chavez

I so appreciate all of the wisdom you are sharing. How light and colour behaves when light is reflecting or passing through something!! 🤯 Mindblow! It must have taken so much time observing nature and light. That kind of wisdom is not earthly. I am going to practice that. I have to think people are watching your videos that aren’t subscribing. Don’t be moved by the numbers. You have way more followers, I am sure. You can’t give these kinds of tutorials and not be followed by way more people. I have been wanting to do landscapes and water scenes for so long and have been watching so many tutorials and you have broken it down better than anyone out there. Not to say I understand all that you have explained but I’m rewatching until I do. It’s a new way of thinking about the subject and I’m so grateful. Thank you. Peace!

Thank you. This is the best advice, do not worry about as to how the painting will turn out to be. My best paintings are when I tell myself if it does not turn out good I will throw it away or better still give it to someone I don't like. Then I just relax and paint and try out every technique I want to and voila, a masterpiece. Thank you. Great learning. 👍🏻👏👍🏻

Hey yknow what, I like what you do while you're nervous.... you feel the need to hyperinflate your need to explain things and honestly I feel THAT quality right there is what made this ENTIRE tutorial so damn incredible. Some of us (like you) need some of that extra explaining to not only visualize what's being taught but to COMPLETELY understand and fully grasp the shit. I'm a visual and hands on learner, but I remember literally every word I hear.... but my problem is I always need to know the logistics and mechanics of things.... I need to know WHY shit does what it does in order for my brain to reason with WHAT it actually does. Your anxiety made me comfortable with my anxiety LOL after painting white over 5 rather impressive pieces due to shitty waves.... You, my friend, have made me understand. 😅 We should all do the wave. 1.2.3.....! 🙇🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️

Mural Joe. I was literally just thinking about you yesterday. I'm taking my first trip to Tucson Arizona in a few weeks. I wondered if you had an outdoor murals there. I am relatively new to painting. I was almost 40 when the obsession came over me lol. I watched one bob Ross video . Re. Watched it over and over and then proceeded to paint it all down our hallway. It was just a humble little hall in a trailer in bf Indiana but it was amazing to me. Guess who my next instructor turned out to be. 😏.Mural Joe. It's crazy too, my you tube doesn't seem to automatically show me your videos so I have lost touch , (been a crazy two years and covid barely had anything to do with it.). Long long story short. You're lessons stayed with me. I did a beautiful crazy stormy night lighthouse scene in my living room. Then a friend had me do a big one in his brand new home. Regal Buck by the stream in a misty early morning...It took a week but I was so proud. I'm working on a psychodelic looming mushroom scene for my teenage nephew. Art and art appreciation are such gifts. I try to share it as well. I've been leading small painting parties that raise money for a canine rescue in my small town. How cool it must feel to know you've reached someone years ago and Miles away and helped them begin their art journey without as much a fear of failure. So yeah, I just looked you up and saw some of the incredible works I've missed and I'm pumped for this super indepth turorial. I really respond to how you explain your thought process. It makes so much clearer sense. I find myself testing the laws of atmospheric perception. I find myself starting to see so much more. The relationship with light and shadow and muted colors. (Big sigh) so wonderful. Thank you for sharing the secrets of the art world with us. I hope all is well with you.
