On this brand new series, artist and host, Bryan Phillips (Swell Guy Customs), invites a fellow creator to help him customize a pair of sneakers using Angelus paints. Along the way, Bryan chats it up with the guest and gets to know their history as a creator and the inspirations that fuel their work.
For the premiere episode, we invited RU-vid star and sneaker aficionado, Alex Walter (SneakerHeadInTheBay), to take on a pair of Air Force 1 Lows. During the custom process, Alex shares stories of how he took a passion he couldn't afford and grew it into one of the most recognizable sneaker channels on RU-vid.

Ok so question, I’m doing a sole swap on a sf af1, and I got some acetone on the suede part of the upper and the suede part is the really soft kind that’s really flexible, and it’s stained or maybe it’s not dry yet??, I don’t know. Any suggestions on how to know if it’s ever gonna dry or is the shoe ruined, or how do I get these stains corrected??

OK your discussion on your folks.. I'm AN OLD SNEAKER HEAD FROM THE 80S TILL TODAY. so when I had my Kids I was gonna buy them all the dope Grips and Kicks from retro to New Drops , Jordan's, Pennys, Air Max, Pumas, Force Ones, Ewings. My Kids hated.em. All they ever wanted was slip-on Vans, Toms and Converse.. Times change ha! 🤔😆

Yes, unfortunately times have changed. Coming from a person who has been collecting like yourself. I started collecting in the 90's and The Nike Ndestrukt were my favorite, but I now just collect Jordan 1's and Air maxes.

honestly just curious. on that 13:50. you can see a lot of white whee the tan meet the purple. is that normal? I seem to see a lot of people leave whites showing like they are too afraid to grab a find detail brush or toothpick and clean it up

Yeah ideally you would want the custom to look as factory as possible. If you have the time and the patience then go that extra mile. Little details like that will put you above the rest.

Sizing varies from shoe to shoe. For Nike Air Forces 1's, try 54 inches. Number of Eyelets Lace Length 3 Eyelets 30 Inches 4 Eyelets 36 Inches 5-6 Eyelets 45 Inches 6-7 Eyelets 54 Inches 7-8 Eyelets 63 Inches
