Pairing My Pat McGrath Palettes | Celestial Odyssey & Huetopian Dream 

You know, being a makeup fan and seeing so many palettes and shades, one may become numb to its artistry. A while ago, I was looking through my palettes and had my celestial oddysey open. My husband looked and said "what nice colors!" It really got to me - I was like hey, you do not have to be a user or expert in any type of craft, to appreciate its creativity. Talent speaks for itself.

Ok that Pat Mcgrah Huetopian palette *heavy breathing* … it’s soooo pretty! Love this makeup look on you! And i think the tiny stick in the sharpener is there to clean out the gunk that would get stuck inside ❤

No one needs the ‘I need a warm palette’ we all have those tones in multiple palettes. Doesn’t mean it’s not tempting though. Lovely look today, nice to see PML get some love. Holiday will be interesting I agree, given that there hasn’t been a mothership this year so far the expectation for holiday to be great is high. ND has exhausted everyone’s makeup budget this year with her multiple palette releases. Any holiday release needs to be exceptional to be enticing, period. Love the look of the LE products but again cannot justify the spend when I struggle to use the LE eyeshadows I already own. I’d buy new Lucient colours if she released them as I use them so frequently. I don’t think it’s quite as easy to sell makeup these days as past years. Just my thoughts.

LE Fawn just doesn’t catch my imagination. Perhaps it’s because I didn’t enjoy the 2 LE palettes I got. Could you compare the shades with ND Glam? Glam happens to be in my focus box this month. Comparisons to any Motherships would be great too. I’m sure you will be discussing the formula/s :) Currently I’m leaning towards the ND Warm for those undertones. Have a lovely time in Dublin ❤

I had a dream (or nightmare) last night about Pat's holiday collection and it was an abomination 🤣 and yes you were there 😘

I have been enjoying Natasha’s I need a warm (terrible name not withstanding). I did a Nat-Pat pairing with the multichromes from I need a warm and Huetopian Dream just yesterday. Phenomena on the lid and the Pat shade outer corner for depth. Others have described the colour differences well (gold orange green for ND; red-bronze- deep green for Pat) and I would add that the Pat shade is much deeper and smokier. The ND shade is bright, shiny and really pops. Both are gorgeous. I find I need a warm to be less orange than metropolis, Yucca and bronze and less pink that than the peachy/pinky shades in many other her other palettes (Dream, I need a nude, retro). So it sort of runs straight down the middle. Formulas for me have been performing very well and there is some lovely, subtle colour dimension to many of the shades. No one *needs* it but if you are wondering ….

I’m not sad about it, but if I’d really thought about it, I probably didn’t need it. I think I still have anxiety from initially not getting Sorcery and then having to wait a year for it to restock. I’m hoping we get a good holiday release from Pat, too. I’m worried. I hope you have a wonderful time at your conference!!!

And finally, my makeup comment: I ordered Phoebe from Lisa Eldridge. No prior intention whatsoever. I only watched Charlotte's video because I watch ALL of Charlotte's videos, but something seemed so special, I immediately watched Lisa's launch video and the whole 'smooths crepey eyelids' thing got me. I'm (deep breath) fifty-seven. My eyelids are crepey enough to be a true test: I'll let you know! Enjoy Dublin! My grandmother - and my Auntie Phoebe - were O'Connells, but I've never been.

Love this look-definitely telling me it’s Fall without telling me it’s Fall! I’m also leaning into darker colors, even though it’s still somewhat warm here in Cleveland. I really hope Pat is having these sales to try to get rid of existing stock before her next mothership drops…probably wishful thinking, but a girl can dream! 😂 I don’t think you need the ND INAW, but only because you can’t really get a whole lot of that kind of depth with it. It’s lovely and I don’t regret owning it, but it’s definitely light with a multichrome and duochrome that are both on the lighter/peachier side. As for the Lisa Eldridge, I was determined not to purchase anything at all from this launch, but caved a few hours ago and got the light peach and gray mauve colors. My makeup beast was also hungry, I guess! I am also a dummy, because I didn’t even notice the pin until this video!!! 😅 Have an amazing time at your congress in Dublin, and honestly, you can rock Ribbon with or without your red blazer, because it’s such a classic that it goes with anything and everything. Bon voyage! ❤

Beautiful ❤ I think the Chanel water fresh blush in bronze would be better for what you’re using it for. The color is almost identical, glowy, sets w/ out powder, and has more pigment.

Dear Mariam (I have so many comments). First: my 'helpful' suggestion, that you force yourself to use Photoshop et al occasionally for your low-key presentations, just to keep your hand in. Only you can judge the cost/benefit 😊 Second: (i just have to tell you this) my daughter (17) just this week did a 'career-suggestion' test at school (it's actually a nationwide thing) and it came up with either a bunch of graphic-design-related jobs (she's very good at Art) or Biology/Chemistry Lab things. I was thinking: shame there's no overlap there, to get the best of both worlds, but from your comment, it looks like I'm wrong. I always thought she should work in Science, the government really pushes it, and she's bright enough. Above all she has a real talent for thinking outside the box, which I feel must be helpful. (My background is entirely Humanities and I work in a Legal Department, so of course admire Science from a distance 😂)

I need to try that look! I have both palettes and the multi chrome is different, ND is like an orange, gold, green. It’s really nice but not as shifty as PM or indie brands

Called Celestial Rose palette but doesn’t seem overly pink. Looks like baked shades like the Louvre palette but more wearable , thank you for the video. Have a great trip to Dublin 🌸💕

I had zero interest in the ND I Need A Warm palette until I swatches it in Sephora out of curiosity and I was seized by a desire to buy it immediately lol. It has peachy warm brown undertones in the way of Biba, which is one of my favorite ND palettes ever, but with more sparkly shimmers. And to answer your question, the Multichrome is totally different from the one in Huetopian Dream, not similar at all! Actually it’s a dupe for an eyeshadow that I love, Clionadh Saffron, which is a deep iridescent (so an iridescent with a fan base). To compare to something in the PMG world, it shifts peach pink lime/gold a bit like the shifts of Rose Fire Nectar in Venus in Fleurs, but totally smooth and not fully opaque (and no flakes like you have in Rose Fire Nectar). I’ve been enjoying it a lot even though I have these shades 100x over … it was an impulse buy for sure. That said, I do feel like some of the lighter mattes are a bit more powdery than her usual matte formula… like there is some kick up in the pan. Not sure if it’s a formula change.

Where the heck is our mothership!? I have got one for my birthday for years. That has past and no palette( no promises of buying) only thing so far was the orchid quad. I went from buying everything to only one quad the whole year. 😢

On a random separate note, I picked up my Iconic Illumination quad the other day because I haven’t used it in a while and was taken aback by a very distinct odor (kind of like old crayons but very strong) coming from the eyeshadows. Have you experienced this in any of your baked shades? It’s odd bc my other two are totally fine so I’m wondering if it’s the red pigment maybe that turned? I’m scared to use it now and sad bc it’s my favorite of the 3 quads !!

Hey Mariam. Have you noticed that us diehard mothership lovers are like... a 'different group', so to say. I've noticed that influencers used to talk about PMG and include motherships in videos, but now it's creaking silence. I find that unfortunate, because I enjoy seeing motherships in action so much.

how did you manage to do the most basic makeup with those palettes lmao
