Claudio Arezzo of Trifiletti after 10 years returns to exhibit in his birth-place with PRIVATE COLLECTION IMPRINTS OF PEACE at the Palace of Culture in Catania from 1 December 2018 to 6 January 2019. The exhibition organized under the patronage of the municipality of Catania, which wants to be a Christmas gift that the artist has prepared for his city. About 100 art works, coming from the artist's private collection, are a complete documentation of the IMPRINTS project that started in 2007 from New York: Barcelona (2008), Berlin (2008), London (2009), Paris (2009), Abu Dhabi - Cairo (2010), Amsterdam (2010), Rome (2010), Athens (2012), Crete (2012), Izmir (2012), Katakolon (2012), Malta (2012), Rhodes (2012), Venice (2013) ), Milan (2015), Iceland (2018). In each of the cities listed, the artist has collected imprints on his paintings, which he then gave life with its colors and its emotions. In a society where the word peace for the most is only photographed on colored rainbow Pace flags and then posted on social media, Claudio Arezzo di Trifiletti instead knows how much peace means sacrifice, fatigue and sweat. Claudio has left his dayly life to collect millions of imprints to give us an extraordinary message of love. And his journeys we can experience them by entering into the art works that are "portals" where those who enter can meet eyes, leaves, dust and sweat.
A sound with a silent but strong echo will start from the Palazzo della Cultura in Catania to get into the eyes and ears of the whole world. The city of Catania was ready to open its arms to the Gift that Claudio Arezzo of Trifiletti wanted to share.
In an increasingly accelerated world, we find ourselves hostage to thoughts, worries, commitments, decisions that stifle our sighs. We feel a sense of concern that we mistake for anxiety, but it is only the need of our body to live with our feet on the ground, in the true sense of the word, and not on the asphalt. Regaining flavours, smells, colours, shapes, learning again to breathe and live. Here is what “footprints of peace” are. White canvasses resting on the ground, where the history of the place goes back to the surface through the path of people who unconsciously travel those same roads with their experience and their emotions. From the encounter between this subterranean past and the present, a time wheel is created, a portal that faces the future and gives rise to thoughts and reflections through a universal language, a truth that can only be glimpsed with the eyes of the heart and of the soul. Imprints is a journey where past and present meet, an inner journey in search for peace and balance, a way to regain contact with the world and contact between souls. From 1st December to 6th January, for the first time, 100 imprints canvasses, 100 streets, millions of people, stories of unknown lives will leave the rooms of the Casa Museo under the Etna. This is the place where visible and invisible meet, and where men return to be connected to each other. The sale of Imprints will allow to buy trees to be planted in the Terre di Martorina project. This will not close the circle, but it will be the birth of a mandala that will become a new key of communication, a new way of living and think of art as a whole one with nature, with love and peace. Sicily is in the middle of this great design, as a place to start from, through the contact with the earth, with water, with stones. The bare hands create life, they create a connection to forget, even for a moment, the content of every single word and allow us to be guided by its intrinsic meaning. We are connection, we are ears of wheat, we are roots of olive tree and bunches of grapes, space and time, depth and breadth, we are gift and sacrifice, sacrifice in time but gift in space, we are ears that must learn to listen to the signals that the world sends to us.
