I LOVE my PSA Dagger. It has been 100% reliable even with cheap bulk ammo, feel great, is compatible with Glock parts, and I love that it has a coated stainless steel barrel for extra corrosion resistance. It really shocks me how much value for money this gun provides.
I love my daggers I have g19s other Glocks and a sig 2022 1911s p80 builds and hands down I love the way the dagger feels in my hand now I do like the p80 lower just for the grip angle but the dagger is a little bit better to me than the p80 for the texturing the gas pedal all the stuff they did to the dagger lower to make it just a little bit better
I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. These Daggers are Dangerous… Why? Well. You start with one. And soon you have 3+ of em lol. They are super nice. Very reliable. I swapped out the hinged trigger for the P80 flat face trigger assembly. Combat Armory connector and 6Lb trigger return spring. 15 polishing job and wow. Such a nice crisp trigger. Shortened the pull. Almost no mush and very nice noticeable wall with a crisp break. Theyre at 4.5Lb pull. Awesome review, man!
this guy know what he's talking about lol. I cant stop buying them and building them out lol. I have the full size for owb carry and hunting, compact for concealed carry, another full size (for experimenting with different parts, stippling, dying etc, so i don't have to worry about screwing up one of the others), got one for the wife. I was amazed at how nice they are for the price point and i haven't had any issues at all with any them aside from user error like screwing a part up haha. I haven't touched my other pistols since trying the daggers.
I bought the first Sniper Green Dagger for $349 and had a trigger pin issue. Installed a titanium pin from Brunell and not one issue since. I recently bought the FDE Doctor cut deal for $399 which came with the bag, 5, 27 round magazine and 5, 15 round magazines. I bought a vortex Venom red dot through your channel and it's my new carry gun. No issues with either firearm
Inexpensive glock clones are like budget 1911s, manufacturers have figured out the problems and have made them very reliable. Plus you can take expensive parts and use them in the frame/slide.
I can remember you saying a long time ago on one of your videos that if you want to make a reliable handgun unreliable add a comp or a suppressor... for the most part that's been true for me and it seems as if this is just another example of that. I think what PSA is doing with these guns is awesome... I mean they're selling glock clones not to far from HiPoint prices and that's a good thing for anyone on a budget and like you mentioned you can always upgrade later. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
every comp ive ran on glock oem springs i havent had a single problem with. its just timing them properly. i use a suarez street comp on my edc and have never had a failure. Just to add my 2 cents.
@Adam G oh yea I kept the oem spring. It's a shadow systems but I believe they use oem glock springs. Suarez international is who makes the comp and I've ran every single ammo type and my sig vcrowns (haven't tried other SD rounds)
Thanks for the review. I'm a convert to the PSA Dagger. Shooting it side by side with my trust Gen 3 G19, the Dagger is better in every way. And I don't say that lightly. I have the Doktor cut slide with a Vortex Viper on it, with the 'extreme carry cut' version. It runs, it runs well. It's easier to shoot than my G19, has performed well at 3 IDPA outings, it will even fire hard primer 9mm ammo like Zinc Point, unlike some of my other guns. And I'm also over 1k rounds on mine. I actually like the stippling, it seals the gun in my hand well without being painfully aggressive. I liked the Dagger so much, I bought another grip module and slide. One to keep stock and one to fiddle with. Hard to believe at $300 pistol performs this well. If I have a quibble, it's the mushy trigger. I'm 'forcing' the break with it more than most pistols I carry, which pushes my POI down a little. But it groups very well. It's not a target trigger but it functions just fine at rapid IPDA drills. Oh and I've also had that issue with PMAG 15's. I have to be a bit careful loading them or they can jam up. Something in the internal geometry....but the gun handles the PMAGs fine, unlike some Glock clones. I'd suggest carrying Glock mags for EDC but PMAGs are fine if you make sure to load them "right".
I purchased a PSA Dagger a few months back with a soft case and 2 magazines at a local gun show. I overpaid for it ($425), but had just recently got a promotion at work, so I treated myself. It is a freaking beast and functions flawlessly. Only complaint about it is holster compatibility. I wound up having to get a custom Kydex holster made for it. It's now my daily part of my EDC kit.
Jesus that’s beyond overpaying, they bent you over and fucked you with no lube. Daggers are consistently available for $350 with threaded barrel, optics cut, 10 mags and the soft case😅 $400 if you want half 15/17rds and half 27rd mags
@@kmb96 well I bit the bullet on that one. It was an impulse buy. I forgot to mention it came with suppressor sights as well. Plus at the time I bought it They were out of stock online. But hey, for getting promoted at work it was a treat for myself.
If you wait for PSA sales and/or blem deals, you can get all of those features shown in this Dagger video for $300. If you buy the complete lower separate from the complete slide, you can also get most or all of those features (optics cut, threaded barrel, cowitness sights, colors, etc) for $300; especially a good deal if you dont care for the Pmag that comes with it and you already own OEM Glock mags.
I got a PSA dagger blem/AK47 combo. It was the dagger with the blem. I went over the gun with a magnifying glass and could not fine the blem. I think they do sell real blem guns... but I think a lot of the time it is just overstock.
@@momoo5843 pistol frame $100(I got the compact) then I waited for the slide with the window cuts, threaded barrel, and optic cut to go on sale like they always for for $200 and got that also. That’s all you need if you already have Glock mags. If you don’t get you some magpul ones for like $12. I also bought a red dot for it so that’s another $150 at least if you want that.
I've been on the fence. You're very obviously knowledgeable and make the time investment to provide a informed review. My son provided a similiar review with similar observations. It's convincing enough to order both versions offered. Looking forward to turning more money into noise and capability. Just wish it was still on Uncle Sam's nickel. Thanks for taking time to do this. I appreciate it.
I own two, swapped out the triggers with a cheap P80 polymer flat face trigger and a 3.5 ghost connector. The only issue I have is the mag releases are really stiff. Not a bad thing for CCW though. At least you know the mags won't come free inadvertently. PS...the trigger pin walking issue has been fixed for sure...lol.
Initial quality is absolutely fantastic! I purchased one of the optics ready 2nds, cannot find a single mark on it or problem with the finish. The value is fantastic if you're wanting a G19 pistol.
PSA has been such a phenomenal company. I can't speak to before 2019 but from my first rifle purchase in 2019 to my last pistol purchase this year they have put out outstanding quality products for a great price.
They were a junk company back in the day. Had a pretty big ordeal about treating their customers like shit but they’re good now. I think they partnered with one of the big names.
Guns, geese, dogs, helicopters... this channel has it all 😅 thanks for the great review as always Mike. I've been debating picking one of these up for quite a while, this makes me want one even more. I'm really hoping they make a G17 version here soon too.
Love my Dagger. I will say that it did have an issue out of the box. The chamber was 'just' out of spec so it wasn't working reliably. Sent it back in, and had it back within a week (nice to live within driving distance of their main store). After they fixed it, have fed it everything I have access to and it just runs. Very accurate. So yeah, I know I said I love it, but still acknowledge that it had an issue right from the get go. PSA took care of me and was friendly and helpful throughout the whole process.
Bought one, loved it so much bought a 2nd. Got it because I was going to get a Gen3 19 then PSA did this ridiculous deal for the rmr cut w/10 mags and bag. Rolled the dice and came up 7
I jus ordered this exact model I’m so excited i can’t wait the fever is real!!!! I’ll be home in a week and it’ll be ready for pickup in that week🤣🤣🤣👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The lightening cuts on the slide are primarily to offset the weight of the optic i think i read somewhere so it functions more reliably as well as reducing reciprocating mass which reduces recoil
@@CreampieSamuri yeah that reduces felt recoil even on non optics cut slides since there is less mass reciprocating vs a non lightened slide but on optic cut ones it plays a part in keeping it reliable as well as offsetting the weight of the optic otherwise you have a ton of weight reciprocating and that makes recoil high.
The texture was great for a carry piece but I prefer the texture of the p80 frame - however I bought 2 different complete dagger slides (one optics cut, tried to find rear cut but none available) & they're *extremely* high value.
Another great show, my friend. You certainly are thorough with every single weapon that you show to us, and I as one, thank you. I absolutely appreciate what you do, and how extremely well you do it. I know that I said this in the beginning, but here I go again.... Another Great Show! Thanks👍
I was able to pick up a full size dagger w/ the RMR cut slide & threaded barrel for $300 flat during their Halloween sale. I have yet to shoot it, I'm excited to see how mine performs
i've run only 500 rounds through my dagger and never saw a failure even with the stock mag but I quickly switched to Glock OEM mags because the p mags suck sooo bad. as well, adding optics is easy if you have the rmr cut. I'll be adding a compensator to it and I won't even have to change the spring. for $350 ibi and an extra $500, this thing will be a beast. very reliable for for your daily carry
I have the Dagger with a Swampfox Liberty, Ameriglow sights at the rear and a Gemtech GM9 and I ran about 250rds of Tula steel case with No Cycling issues at All. So happy with it.
Perfect timing with releasing this video. I recently started looking into the dagger as a potential buy with the great deals Palmetto has been giving out.
I got the $200 FDE Dagger SW4 GatorMouth cut, RMR milled, threaded barrel, suppressor sights complete slide in FDE for my G19X frame, put the HE407c x2 green on her & she runs like a dream. Not a single issue, Cerakote is holding up very well & the barrel coating. 🤟 Much cheaper than sending my G19X slide off to have milled out
When it came to my CCW shooting test, I didn't take my FN FNX-45, my Walther Q4 or my Sig. I took my Dagger. From 15ft I hit 4/5. Don't even ask me about the one that missed. It didn't even make sense. But, from 20ft, 5/5. At the moment, I had only shot the gun in a mag dump on the side of the road. Since that test I've added a rifled threaded barrel, Herrington Arms Compensator & 30 dollar tac light from Amazon. I have a short on my channel showing the setup. It's a great carry gun that shoots straight and I don't have to worry about cosmetically.
You're going to love it I'm 50 years old I've been shooting since I was five and I've had many Glocks over the years sigs and many other striker fire pistols Right now the dagger hands down is my number one go to granted my dagger is not what you would call stock or factory there's really not much put into it but just time put into it making sure everything is nice and smooth and polished little work on the trigger and all nice and broken in and hands down I go to it every time it's just so much more comfortable
I love it. I Got the $199 & change SW4 GatorMouth (Cobra) & window cuts, RMR milled, threaded barrel, suppressor sights, complete FDE Dagger Slide for my G19X frame. Swapped backplates out & she runs like a dream! Made a short vid showing it. Put the $225 HE (elite) 407c x2 green 2moa dot on mine & she'll drive nails at 25yrd plus. My trigger is even better now for some reason My battery came pre-installed in my Holosun from Optics Planet. I've seen people ask about this. 🤟
You're one of the few people who hasn't complained about the trigger. Mine feels just like my Gen3 trigger pull minus the safety dingus. I kind of like the feel of the hinged trigger shoe. Some have suggested putting in a 6# trigger return spring.
I've owned a dagger for a few months now and I love the thing. Only gripes are the trigger is a little on the cheap side but that's easily replaced, and that it's hard to find a holster for it. I have a g19 mft holster that holds it if you tighten the retention but it loosens overtime.
I can vouch for their customer service. My first Dagger was a lemon (I know other people with them that have no problems so I am sure it was a rarity). It had major feeding issues. I called them and they told me to send it in and they would send me a brand new one. No problem. They did and my new one runs great. I prefer it to my G19 actually. I got the version with cerakoted slide, threaded barrel, and came with a Vortex Venom for $499. Can't beat that.
Your channel is my go to channel for an honest complete review. The p s a looks like a well made pistol but I don't see any reason to get rid of my g 19 and buy one.never had an issue. Glock perfection. ❤
I got an Arex Delta M Gen 2 after Ian's review of one and am very happy with it. It has more safety features than this or a Glock. Got it on sale for just a little more than he said the Dagger is.
I’ve got a few hundred rounds through mine so far and I have no complaints. I added an Olight Baldr S light/laser to it and it makes for a nice home defense rig. I’m in the waiting period to get a Dead Air Wolfman suppressor and I’ll see how the dagger does with it :’\ in like 8 months
I’ve been using the dagger for about a year now with the YHM NITRO N20 without any issue. To prevent the suppressor to walk back I use the CAM-LOK. Greatly recommended!
Picking my second Dagger up this coming Friday. My first one has run 100% on 124 and 147gr ammo. I've never run any 115 gr ammo so can't say how it works with that.
@@deltatango7759 I only shoot 147 gr in all my 9mm's but have run some 124 through also. I just never shoot 115gr at all. No real reason other than I like a little more mass to the projectile.
Just picked up a Dagger frame with a green laser and the RMR cut slide with windows and a stainless barrel for a little over $300 total. Hell of a deal, can't wait for it to come in. Used to have a Gen 2 G19, liked it, didn't love it, eventually traded it for other things I liked more. Decided I wanted another plastic 9mm for the range and the nightstand, and there's nothing out there that can compete with the Dagger for with what it offers for features, customization, & price.
Replaced the trigger shoe on mine with a Suarez shoe, and it performs as well as a G19 that's been stippled, given a slide job, and an Apex trigger kit.
They are. It's called the Micro Dagger, slides are out now. Their own proprietary 15 round mags come out next followed by the complete guns. They are 43x compatible
I have a Dagger. Early manufacture with a few problems that were quickly resolved. Still need to send it in for warranty work to fix them. Great trigger, and very accurate.
If you take that trigger apart polish everything up take a file and take a little bit off on the reset to shorten up your reset nothing crazy can actually use a fingernail file Polish up the plunger polish up the plunger The striker swap out the striker spring Do the Johnny Glock trick with the set screw and the fire control housing you can get a real nice trigger for less than $10 mine is at 3.3lb to 3.6 on the 2 i have
Bought the lowers when it wss on sale for the ar15 and dagger lower99$ and the upper was 159 with optics cit in grey lol.. Whopping 209$ unreal ..bought second upper and looking to try different frame ..unreal
After the nightmare I went through with their PSAK GF3, I'll never buy another psa product. Their customer service is the worst I've dealt with in my life. And that is saying A LOT. You better hope that junk never breaks, which it will.
I assembled a Dagger off the website, can confirm that the standard grip frame has stainless/polished fire control components. I don't think the trigger feels much like a 3rd gen. though: lots of 'mush' after the lighter initial take-up like a Glock, but that mushy bit as the striker is fully cocked feels stickier, almost like a hard grease has been applied to the components. Overall not a big deal since the trigger doesn't hinder accuracy, it just feels odd and somewhat sluggish. My brother has a 3rd gen. G35L and dislikes the PSA's trigger very much. I might try a new connector, but that's the only thing I'm even considering changing. The AmeriGlo sights are solid backups, the S&W-style hinged trigger shoe doesn't bother me a bit, and the gun runs like a Glock on brass/steel/aluminum-cased ammo from 115gr-147gr. The grip design is fantastic, the gun points naturally for me like Glocks never do. It sounds ridiculous, but this PSA is a very nice little pistol. I haven't put a can on it, largely because I haven't found one that costs (stamp included) less than 2x what I paid for the gun.
I have large hands and the finger bump rubbed me all the wrong ways but the great thing about the Dagger price point is I didn't hesitate to get out a file and carefully remove it and now I love shooting my Dagger
I had one with a JJE frame that the trigger wouldn't reset. I oiled and manually worked the reset inside the frame and it worked itself out. It works fine now. Got it for a 2 for one discount. $119.99 for 2 frames.
Thank you Sir. I have a few Daggers, I love the grip, I really llike the irons in front too. I swapped out the normal stuff I do to all glockish guns, trigger, sights etc. Just ordered the "s" full size, can't wait.
Just so happens I put a order in today for a dagger. I just couldn't pass up PSA's deal with 10 mags, !/2 27 rds and the other 5 with 15 rds. plus a carry bag......all for 399.... Really appreciate your review and the timing was psychic! PSA has always put forth great products at even better prices. I have a safe and a wall full enough to be called a satellite store lol.....
Just picked up the Father's day sale Dagger with TiNi threaded barrel, suppressor sights, 15rd mag and RMR cut. Came with a nice soft case, all for $299. Trigger is kind of gross, with a good amount of takeup. Although shooting off the reset is quite good. My biggest complaint is the mags are a bit tight.
Thank you! Honestly, have been looking for another pistol for a while. Not looking to spend a fortune. Already have a full size S&W for EDC. Just want a small 9mm for range and occasional pocket carry. I'm a pretty big guy so it's not hard to conceal most pistols 🤷♂️😁. Wife has been asking for a PSA dagger for a while too, so there's that 😂. Customizable pistol! Yeah. And she knows that whatever I buy for myself, she gets one too. I get an AR15, she's looking for her box too 😂! She's spoiled. It's ok. We shoot together. She out shoots all of my buddies, regardless of what it is. It's good times.
Thanks for being so detailed! I love my AR 10/15 pmags, I would have been waiting for failures if you hadn't specified that only their Glock mags suck lol.
1st time to your channel. Great information. I love my G19 but at these prices I could have a spare for other "secured accessible" locations without breaking the bank too badly. Thank you.
a few months ago bought a used one & later sold for extra $$$; like the Dagger so much I recently bought a new one...having many sources of pmags (I like to match what the oem ships) is a major advantage! another glock-esque pistol to look at is the stoeger str-9...disadvantage is most of them only ship with 1 mag AND very few sources of proprietary mags!
Thanks Mike! Great review. Question for my fellow gun owners of America : I purchased a Dagger slide and I'm going to try and run it on my G19 Gen 4. Haven't shot it yet but it fits really well on the frame. Tight but not overly so. I suspect that's from the cerakote. I have the "adapter" for the frame gap but do I need it? I'm more concerned the adapter cracks and gets balled up in the recoil spring. I've seen that on a video. Thanks everyone stay strapped!
