PSA Dagger 9mm Models Comparison: Best Budget Pistol on the Market! 

I own every glock ever made and 3 daggers. Using Glock magazines, these things are nicer and every bit as reliable as a Glock. There, I said it.

These days you catch them on sale for 250-300 optics cut with a threaded barrel and slide cuts. Absolutely insane. I love this company.

PSA is a great company and I want to give them support. Saw on their site or in an interview with a rep that they see their mission / purpose as arming as many people as possible, with quality firearms, as there’s some legal opinion in courts which states the government can’t ban something that is widely owned or is in common use. That’s brilliant and people should support them so they can prosper and grow to put more money into r&d ... Maybe 10 years from now Sootch will be reviewing the “PSA Claymore” - .Barrett 50 cal clone.

i have a feeling its only a matter of time before PSA becomes a household name and isnt leaned towards the budget friendly aspect. i personally love the company and what they stand for.

The gun snobs throw shade on the Dagger because it’s from PSA and it’s inexpensive. What they don’t realize is that PSA will NOT do military contracts, they have decided that they are building for we the people. So we are their big contracts! How much is Sig selling the p320 to the US Military for? Around $250-ish. That’s why we pay $600-how ever much you want to spend. Not an inferior gun, just a true factory direct price.

I think they are fine. I got a basic model and it works. Bought it from a friend that wanted a nicer gun. A gen3 Glock is what it is as far as a lot of more recent guns to come to market. I carry it on my ranch in South Texas. Why? Work on a ranch is hard on footwear, jeans, shirts, vehicles, gloves, people, and your sidearm. We have illegals trapsing through and trying to destroy and take your "stuff". You have to stay armed.....always! I view guns as tools, especially semiauto handguns. Can I shoot it accurately? Yes. Is it reliable? Yes. Does the trigger work? Yes. Is the trigger something to be a deal breaker for me? No. Do I trust the gun? Yes. I probably have somewhere around 2000 rounds through mine training. With the artificially depressed prices for livestock to the processors, money is tight, very tight. (that is a topic for a different time).

I bought one just out of curiosity and its been dead nuts reliable. For the price its a fantastic value. I am tempted to pick up another one.

In addition to the existing Compact Dagger and Dagger Full Size - S (G19X/G45 gen3 "clone"), PSA is making an announcement regarding the Micro Dagger (G43X "clone") this week! There's also talk of something "BIG" coming this week. We're expecting the .22 LR Dagger any day now (originally slated for October). And we know there's a Dagger Full Size - L (G17-length slide assembly) in the works.

My Dagger trigger from the factory is much nicer than the trigger on my Glock 17. I love the Dagger grip with the palm swells and slimming work, with the bulge at the rear if seams like a different angle. This grip makes it much easier for me to shoot well.

Did you watch the video yesterday on the Military Arms channel? He toured the PSA factory. Needless to say, he came away very impressed and with a great opinion of the company and their products.

I can’t say enough good comments about PSA. They have been getting weapons to my FFL within seven days. Ammunition to my home within the week. I am going to stop looking at daily deals. I have been dealing with credit card shock!

I love my PSA firearms! Absolutely very well made! Very reliable. I would most definitely trust my life with. I own a PSA AR pistol 2 daggers 1 basic model and a tricked out one! I can’t say end good stuff about them!

I got a Dagger BLEM on special, Optic cut slide, threaded barrel FDE finish and in a nice case. Can’t find a blemish on it anywhere! Best $299 I ever spent!

I bought one used for $250 turns out it was unfired. Mine is the standard configuration with night sights. Glock triggers always have hurt my finger the Dagger does not. They have a winner in the Dagger.

I have two Standard Compact Black Daggers with night sights and they just work. When I go onto the PSA website, I get a headache from all the options available there but am having a lot of fun with the mix and match possibilities they provide.......then they added a full size G45 clone. Ah, Christmas is coming.

I own a PSA Dagger with the suppressor height sights. Freaking love shooting that gun. Very ergonomic feel, trigger is better than some of the Glocks that I've shot, and ate up every type of cartridge I shot through it.

I purchased a psa dagger frame w/o a trigger dropped a overwatch dat trigger and trigger bar with a wuelf slide with psa slide internals. And a combat armory barrel. And let me tell you this pig runs like a champ

I have a PSA Dagger with the vent cuts and threaded barrel. I got it as part of package deal. The deal was the Dagger and PSA's AR15 carbine, for $800. That got me to my CCW permit. I love me some PSA.

I LOVE my Dagger. It's completely living up to the hype and it's made here in the US! Stainless steel parts make me happy, as does the fantastic price and options (bought the optics-ready one with the co-witness sights).

Just picked up the basic model from their retail store in Savanah, Ga. (Which I found by accident while looking for something else). Main reason I got it is the quality and interchangeably with Glock Gen 3 parts and mags. As well as aftermarket parts if I decide to update later.

Psa sent me 5 pmag glock 19 magazines and I offered to return them since they were not my order and they said I could keep them along with 5 ar 10 magazines, they gave me 10 percent off next order so I bought the dagger, out of 15 orders I have made they only messed up 2 times and I got free mags out of it

One really needs to respect just how many different makes and models of PSA brings out yearly. If they followed Glocks timeline for products, it would have taken 10 years just for the half of these models.

I'm not sure why people associate PSA being affordable as being equivalent to low quality. I have a few of their platforms and they've outperformed the gucci platforms in accuracy, reliability, and durability. People are just used to getting grossly overcharged by other vendors. I have picked up name brand items from them for 15-20% less than what other big name vendors are charging. They aren't a "budget" vendor, they are honestly priced, the other guys are gouging

Haven't been able to buy a blue label Glock locally for over a year due to limited availability so I got an optics ready Dagger with side cuts and stainless barrel and ten mags during current Memorial Day sale for $399. Feels great in the hand and functions well so I ordered another frame only to add a slide to next month. Will give me two Daggers to go with my gen 3, gen 4 and gen 5 G19's. Good review as always.

You can easily upgrade that Dagger trigger, with just a Lantac striker block plugger and lighter plunger spring kit (@20 $).

Just got one, it shoots great. They should really make a 10mm g20 clone

I have both Glock 19 Gen 3 and PSA Dagger. I swapped slides to see what each would do. The Glock slide on the Dagger performed as it should. The Dagger slide on the Glock did not. With trigger pulled and racking the slide, it would not reset, as it would the opposite. So, in my opinion, Glock slide on Dagger may work, Dagger slide on Glock may not.

Glock is the AR15 of pistols now, as far as widespread clones and aftermarket compatibility goes.

Excellent and very thorough video which I appreciate. I've been considering a dagger for quite some time now but just never have bought one yet and after watching this I think it's time to try one out so thank you... I actually prefer the Glock 19 3rd generation above all other Glocks so the dagger seems like a really good addition.

If anyone is interested in buying a PSA dagger, wait for the Holiday deals. I bought one that's very similar to the one in the video for $249. My cut outs on the slide are a little different and I have the cooper coated threaded barrel. I also did not not get the soft case with mine. They are $29.99 on PSA's website.

PSA has to be upsetting a lot of other gun companies with how cheap they’re selling their products .

The ONLY issue I've ever had with my Dagger is that it doesn't like steel cased ammunition. Aside from that, it's performed flawlessly.

@sootch00 Thank you for the up and personal and breakdown. I didn't know that the frames were basically Polymer 80 frames (no molded in rails). Now I see how they've cut costs so much. Of note, from my experience with P80s, if the rear rail tab isn't aligned/tuned correctly it can cause malfunctions over time. Just something to keep an eye on as the round count goes up.

Even though I have some higher end stuff like Shadow Systems MR920 Elite and CR920, I just ordered a Dagger. I'm curious, and it can never hurt to have another firearm around. I picked up a blem frame for 60 bucks and an RMR slide with tritium front sight on sale for 229. So for under 300 dollars I'll basically have a glock 19 MOS (gen 3). Looking forward to trying it out!

PSA Daggers are awesome! I replace the triggers with Glock parts and it is perfect. There is nothing wrong with the PSA triggers, I just like the crisp break of the the G3s.

I lucked out and got a RMR cut dagger with the threaded barrel for $299.

Just bought a psa dagger decided to watch a sootch video to ease my mind about the price. A glock 19 clone with a threaded barrel and supresser height sights plus a rmr cut 259 you can't beat that. If the thing runs.

I own many Glocks. No interest in Gen 5s though. I thought the Dagger would be an interesting range toy project and currently own two. The first has a standard slide with an RMR cut. The second slide has a PSA SW1 that I had machined for a deeper RMR cut. I'm anxiously awaiting the Dagger Micro frames to come available.

Ive noticed my Dagger full size S frame has a considerably better and more crisp trigger right out of the box than the compact frame. Even before i shot either one the Full size frame performed better

I still believe that PSA will become the world's biggest and best arms manufacturer. I see them as the future Walmart of guns. (Except better quality).

The full size isn’t a longer slide, it’s the same as a g19x. They are making a long slide but it isn’t out yet

PSA is moving the market. The issue I have is most of their deals are ALL threaded barrel offerings ( on completed slides).... with being pro 2A it limits states with restricted laws against threaded barrels... We already pay more for stupid 10 round mags why should we pay more for a lesser offering on a like $40 barrel.$200 vs $300. They should offer the same deals with options for restricted states is what I am getting at....

I have the Glock 17, 19 and 26. The 26 has been my edc for several years. Got a Dagger 7-8 months ago, put about 400 rds through it. 6 different types and brands of ammo with NO hiccups. I'm using it a a carry gun too now. It seems to me like the mating of a Glock and an M&P 2.0 compact. Another thing about the Dagger, it has "Nice", Steel 3 dot sights and a Steel guide rod. I got mine a blemished lower for?$59? and a plain jane upper $195. So, $254, $25 transfer fee, took the gun home for $279.

PSA has great daily deals and you can often get the frame for $199 and the slide for $49. So, you can have a complete Dagger for $249. With tax, shipping and FFL transfer fee, it comes to about $315 total.

Nice to have a dead solid, reliable pistol that is actually made entirely in the USA and is as affordable as this one. Bought 2 for the price of one Glock 19. I have not had any negative experiences with the Magpul magazines...but prefer the stock Glock just for their simplicity. Both lines are cheap compared to any others. I have mixed PSA AR15 blem Lowers having Magpul stocks with BCA uppers on sale to the tune of $375 for complete and competent AR15s in a wide variety of calibers. Two great manufacturers of firearms right here in the Carolinas.

Palmetto's Dagger is the 1st "Glock" type pistol I have ever owned. I always thought Glocks were uncomfortable, blocky, overpriced, ugly guns with not very good triggers. Yes, they were very dependable, but just not my preference. I bought a fully loaded Dagger and a Holosun to try out reflex sights. This shows how much Glock was over priced when a US company like Palmetto can make these for almost half of the price of what Glock does in the pandemic. Even with 5-6 modernized features folks have begged Glock for, they are almost half the cost of a Glock. I can see why a all steel 1911 costs $1000.00 or more and have bought them. Try building a all steel gun. I never saw why Glocks cost what they did, when M&P and Sig and others were less costly and built the same basically. Hopefully this will get Glock to be more competitive. I'm not bashing Glock, I just think they could do better, Palmetto shows us that. Glock makes a great gun for the glock fans Maybe they will modernize their guns now and try to get more competitive. We will see.

I got a dagger for the price, But after better trigger installed and connector and some break in it's just as good or better than my 19 gen 4.

Just a fun fact. That rear site that’s mounted after the cut doubles as a brass deflector as well. Saves the glass from the optic

Just got mine It does need a few upgrades not gonna lie but for the price you pay and the availability to use 99% of Gen 3 glocks parts you have tons of options. I paid $59.99 for my full size frame and $189 for my SW3 sniper green slide $248.99 for a complete handgun and it’s bad ass with a few quick parts replaced use OEM Glock mags they feed better then magpul which will not hold the full 17 rounds only 15 I couldn’t be happier with this purchase nice job Palmetto State Armory

Thank God you made this video I get so sick of fan boys hating on this gun. You spend 500 on a Glock and it’s hot mess trigger then start upgrading it your out a grand if you do it right. The dagger is get rid of the hinged trigger and run it. Outlaw says Glock is more accurate I call B.S. if you compare the barrels they are identical there’s not enough difference between them to call Glock more accurate. Some folks just can’t stand it when their Jesus gun gets schooled. Glock has not changed anything except stippling. Everything else guys don’t like about Glock they leave the same and raise the price each and every generation.

you can reduce the 5.5 Pounds Trigger by disassemble the PSA Dagger get a demel polishing drive with the polishing paste Polish the contacting surfaces in the Trigger Polishing the contact metal parts in the Trigger linkage will not reduce the Metals surface only polish the rough trigger surfaces to become smooth resulting in a clean smooth 4.5 Pounds reduction of the Trigger Pull Weight from the standard 5.5 Pounds Trigger Pull Weight
