When I was young, I did not understand this movie. Now that I'm older, this movie terrifies me and it's sad. I still love watching this movie though. 💜
i have had this tune randomly play in my head and I would hum it without thinking. This has been going on for almost 10 years. I could never place where it was from. AND THEN ITS JUST HERE AS PART OF MY RU-vid RABBIT HOLE.
Donna Hayes The little girl was dumb, but she hadn't ate anything for a couple of hours prior to going there...so I guess getting tempted with the grapes was inevitable.
Oh man, Pan's Labyrinth is utter perfection. It has the perfect blend of everything I love in a story... it is cinematic art... every aspect of it. Including this.
It had many sad parts to it. But the ending was happy in one aspect as she became the princess. However the people that tried to save her only saw Ofelia dying and it was sad in that aspect.
From a single Father's perspective - without any question the saddest movie. As a single father, the saddest part of this movie was the expression on the older gentleman when witnessing his son, who is defending his father, has his life taken by "El Capitan." The father's epxression in watching his son being murdered - that moment of horror - the very essence of your life taken away from you - to strip you of the only love you have in this life - the purpose of life - your son -there is no horror beyond such in this world. Truly a heart wrenching moment. If any man fears something in life - it is this moment. El Capitan's watch, bequeathed to him at his father's death - broken to tell the time his father died and "how a man accepts death." El Capitan's disregard for all else but the life of his son, even if it meant the life of the child's mother. El Capitan's wish to leave a memory to his son, taken from him - and knowing his son will never know of him - the last thing to see in this world before departing the world. The Underworld's king - in destined and promising to wait until the world stops to see his daughter's soul return. ......................................
Right!!! I could not handle watching that scene it was terrible. We watched in spanish class and some people were LAUGHING and saying "that's sick!". I know it's only a movie but this would not be funny if this happened to one of your loved ones
I've never seen pans labyrinth before but I started humming this at school and my teacher asked if it was the pans labrum th song. I had no clue what he was talking about so I just looked it up and I'm now listening to it. This is the song I've had in my head all my life 😹😹 I think my mom hummed it to me whine I was younger
Same, and I'm 14 as well. I went and asked my parents and they didnt know what the movie is. Is this song something I could know from somewhere else, or should we panic...
I loved all his movies but this song got stuck in my head and a few years later and with every pregnancy I had I would hum it to them and when they where born and still do but just NOW I found this melody and played it for my fussy baby and he fell asleep and I love THIS melody it's so peaceful I random hum it to my self to it makes me sad and happy all at the same time xoxo💖
When I hear this I imagine a mother or sister singing this to their sick child/sibling or even a beloved friend. The child is dying and as they're taking their last breaths the women is singing or humming this tune to put the child into a peaceful sleep and end it's suffering. As the child peacefully falls asleep the women holds it close whilst still humming she looks up at the moon (they're probably in the woods sitting next to a fire) her voice is wavering and a tear escapes her eyes, for she knows that her child will never wake again....
It really is worth watching, I was luckily enough to find a replay on on of the film channels that I could watch. It's absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking too. (Just like your story)
WATCH IT! It is by far the most beautiful fairy tale ever told. It is a master piece of a movie, and my very favorite movie if all time. Trust me when I say, if you like fantasy at all, you will love this movie.
My son is 20 months and I hum this to him every night. This song is Always my go to. Absolutley loved the movie and ill always keep this song with me in my heart. 😍💔
@@pauljohnson3739 I want one please it's for my daughter she's going through hard times and we use to watch this movie over and over and over and over and over and over again she was 5 when this came out and said loved it even though she didn't understand the words .it our favorite movie of all time
I don’t have the best father, he’s pretty absent in my life but this song is from the one movie that I can actually remember watching with him. I listen to this song when I wanna cry or be held because it reminds me of the one time I’ve ever felt safe in my life. I reminds me of the one second in time when I felt my father cared. It’s both peaceful yet heartbreaking but I love it.
I actually read the book first when I saw it in my sisters bookshelf. I had no idea what it was about, but it is now one of maybe favorite books. Then I learned it was a movie first and then written into a book. I watched the movie and it was very good. The book, of course, was better, and if you’re ever confused the book explains it perfectly and goes back in time a lot.
I love this song, the way they have it play in the movie is absolutely amazing. The whole soundtrack is so beautiful and calming but in another side haunting in how innocent it is. To any who have not watched pan's labyrinth, you are seriously missing out one of the greatest movies ever made.
The melody reminds me of my great grandma's Music box with dancing ballerina. She often play it and rock in her rocking chair in Puerto Rico while I listening to it and her rocking back and forth while her mind wonders off. I never asked what she was thinking or what it reminded her off...She just looked out in the window and her mind drifted off. I miss her.
James Horner he makes beautifull music from titanic to ghost ship to corpse bride and avatar and brave heart.. Edward scissor hands,Casper, and many more amazing films especially with Tim Burton's movies
I absolutely love this song and this movie. I like to watch it when I can't sleep, it comforts me. even though I don't speak Spanish, I know exactly what's happening as I'm listening but have my eyes closed. and the ending was very much appropriate, like a Grimm fairy tale. in death she got to live like a princess forever with her mom and brother :)
Lol if I gonna die slowly I want to hear this one ... every night it's hard for me to fall asleep so I listen to this one ❤ and I watched the movie it was nice and sad .. but it's hard to watch at same time trying to read the subtle 😂
Makes me think if a ballarina dancing in a dark nite always dabcing at nite do to the fear of being caught by someone and loct away forever Even drew a picture i find it very insperational
No problem. If you look to the bottom right of the video you should see a few icons. Now see the icon that looks like a gear? Click on it and then at this point you most likely catch the gist of it all but you'll find the settings and then just click on that and it has the setting of normal, 0.5 (which is slower) and one other setting and then above normal you should have the faster settings.
Why is this lullaby so hauntingly sad. Brings up all kinds of disturbing images. I have seen this movie and it disturbed me. It makes you think about what the whole life thing is about. Why are we so cruel to each other, especially to children. So gut wrenching.
this sounds so beautiful and hopeful and yet, so full of misery and pain. The same kind of sequence is followed by the russian folk song, troika balalaika
I saw this movie as a kid. And I always remembered this lullaby in my unconscious. Yesterday I finally remembered the name and saw this movie. Such an emotional movie.
Pans labyrinth movie is not for kids. Ironically the story is about a child that use her imagination to scape the horrors of the military dictatorship in Spain. There is no fantasy about that dark page of Spain history. hunger, loneliness, sickness, destruction in the enchanted woods of norther Spain. I pray that all the children that were abused and killed back then had some kind of ferry tale to scape to.
I myself don't think Ophelia used Her imagination at all. Because it's shown in the movie that she was able to leave the room when she was locked by Vidal (Mercedes finds the little door drawed there and the door was still locked) and also not only the book showed her that her mom was losing the baby, her mom was cured by the mandrake, and stopped taking the doctor's meds. Aside from that, she might have died, but she needed to leave the earth for her soul to go back to the kingdom. The faun mentions "this is the last portal". Which means her incarnations kept dying because they sacrificed innocent blood. Ophelia on the other hand, was willing to die for her brother. I do believe it was real.
@@isabelleaniely5500remember people have their own opinions and tend to look for darker tones to anything, it can be a cautionary movie for kids as in teens, but adolescents shouldn’t peep the flick, it’s a beautiful movie regardless of historically accurate violence lol
This song has been one I hummed to all 4 of my babies to get them to sleep. I've seen the movie so many time I no longer have to read the subtitles (haven't for years). My oldest says this song is creepy but my second born begs me to hum it or play it on RU-vid. ❤️❤️
