Do you have a second hand model? Maybe it is not in the best condition? I have used the GX80 (new) for mostly stills for more than three years, the AF for stills is very fast. The viewfinder is small, that is the annoying thing about it, but otherwise I can't fault it, the picture is crisp. Otherwise I agree with most of what you said, the GX80 is a great little camera and Panasonic surprised me when they recently released the G100 without IBIS because the GX80 proves you can put 5-axis into a small body. If they wanted to make a video-centric version of the GX80, just bung a fully flippy screen on it, a mic jack, you're done.
There is a huge surge of gx85 videos. Will this become a cult classic Panasonic? I was looking at this over the g100 for its ibis. However the gx85 almost in g85 price range. Curious if the autofocus is better at a higher frame rate in video.
This camera is really good for video, one of the best in it’s price range, if you shooting behind the camera this is a go. But if u need good auto focus and will be in front of the camera, look elsewhere.
On paper, this camera has a record limit. However, sometime else tested it and found out that at 4k, it doesn't have a recording limit. Were you able to try that? I'm trying to gather as much proof that it can do limitless recording. I'm thinking of this as a B-cam for the G85.
