Some footage from Conisbrough Castle near Doncaster. I have not used this camcorder for some time as it had developed what appeared to be a servo fault. When I finally got round to having a look at it, it turned out that the adhesive that helds the felt pad on the back tension band had deteriorated and the felt had separated and fallen off. I stuck it back on using some contact adhesive and that solved the problem. You can, however, see another fault that has developed which is in the tube's deflection circuit. The vertical deflection is too great leading to over-scanning. This can be seen at the start of the video where the the video looks squashed and the green bar at the bottom of the face-plate comes into the image (the effect of deflection size with a camera tube is the inverse of what it is with a TV). This is almost certainly down to failing capacitors as the effect lessens as the camera warms up.
