Panasonic RF-1150 Chat & Tune This is the one where I futz around with the 1150 on a quiet Saturday morning. I also mention my recent absence from the hobby.
It's great to hear your FM voice again! Here's hoping life will allow you to make more YT videos in the near future. I watched this one from start to finish. 📻
It's good to see you back. Everyone has a down period with radio listening including me. RU-vid was a big part of why I returned to the hobby about 3 years ago. Have a Happy Memorial Day weekend.
Good video. Nice rig. It is indeed too bad about shortwave. That’s just how it goes as one technology gets replaced by another. Our grandparents and great grandparents probably lamented when televisión replaced AM radio listening. Our kids or grandkids will likely mourn the loss of smartphones and apps at some point. As for CB, in my opinion it’s very hard to receive this band on these radios unless you live near an active area or happen to catch skip activity. It’s dead near me and in a lot of areas I visit. Occasionally, I catch some of the “noise” on 27.025 (ch 6), but not much else. I live near an interstate and never even hear much on channel 19. Besides the band being pretty quiet in most places at most times of the day, I’ve also found that general coverage radios just aren’t very sensitive in the band, even with the right antenna. Even though radio isn’t what it used to be, it is still great to see these old specimen rigs in action. I look forward to future videos.
Sorry to hear about your 'event' and the effect it had on you and your listening and playing with your radios - and making these videos. But I sure understand. For me, radio was a good escape from the pandemic. I probably played with them more during the pandemic than I have in quite awhile.
Nice to hear your voice again. I hope things are as ok as they can be considering. Was curious about these era panasonics to fill my analog itch. I recently bought a tecsun 9700 and i think that will have to do for awhile.. go play with your dog! They really are better than people.
friend I follow you from Venezuela I would like you to advise me on the purchase of a good radio that can be informed with the radios of other countries in band corts
Yea, sure was nice to see a video from you today. I found your channel last year and made a long wire antenna like yours and it is fantastic. I get most of my inspiration from your channel. You have a certain skill to your presentation that draws me in. The MW hobby is quite enjoyable since I am a news junkie. Lol. We all have those events that catch us by surprise, I truly hope your doing well. I look forward to any and all videos in the future. Thanks so much. Jojo N.e. Penna
Being a newbie to your channel I am not familiar with your past videos. Just subscribed this morning and found this video relaxing with subject of SW radio listening. History of radio receivers always fascinating as I grew up working with my father in radio and tv repair back in the 1950s. Best wishes and hope you find the inspiration to keep sharing.
