Find out why the labels are so similar and what they've meant throughout history. 🦎🤓
TD;LR Both labels now encompass multiple genders and evolved over time as our understanding of gender broadened. Often, as we learn more about the world around us, language is adapted. Words are no longer literal, and may be used differently e.g. September isn't the seventh month!
How we identify with labels is personal. As is which one we choose! You may even define it differently. There is no right, or wrong, just what feels best for you.

To clarify for the people in the comments - the two labels are very similar. Which is why it’s so confusing. They both look like experiencing attraction to people of multiple genders. The main difference is that for many pan people they will say that gender plays no part in their attraction. Or they don’t ‘see’ gender. For many bi people, gender plays a role. HOWEVER the reason history is important is because these definitions have changed over time. And many bi people’s definitions of their label may actually be similar to what pan is now today! So there is overlap!

I once asked my bi sibling what the difference was between pan and bi because I was legit curious. They said, "Really, as far as I'm concerned, the only difference is what color palette speaks to your soul. Some people look better in dark blue, purple and pink... some people can rock the pastel pink blue and yellow!" 😅 To this day it's probably the best argument I've heard on the matter!

Thank you Queer Chameleon, this has really helped me as a person questioning their sexuality. Now I can pretty firmlt say I am Pansexual, and not debate back and forth about Bi or Pan. Thanks.

Thanks I'm pansexual and people keep telling me that I'm just bisexual. It honestly sad. My queer siblings also tell me that. Thank you for bringing this point across. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@AcadianMapper
I thought Bi was attraction two genders (doesn't have to cis genders) and Pan was attraction to all. Thanks for educating me.
@ScarlettKatty
As a pan person we pans and all the bi humans are our siblings. Our friends not enemies. Chose what label you want. It’s an umbrella and you’re all allowed to join us under it.

Bilingual doesn't mean only 2 languages exist
@harlgg
I'm bi and my best friend is pan. I've told them the same stuff that was said in this video multiple times. But recently i heard them tell one of our straight friends that "bisexual means attraction to men and women." It just kinda upsets me :/
@dizzydots4786
I'm pan, but I like to go by bisexual. It's the first thing I came out as, and it saves me having to explain, people just kinda go "oh cool" and move on

"What the Fucks the difference" had me laughing
@CrescentPaws5000
As a bisexual. Pansexauls are our siblings we share a umbrella that’s how I allways viewed it
@Solar_Pawzzz
It would be incredible if you could do the difference between omnisexual and pansexual!!

As a bisexual, here's how I define it for me: attraction to all/multiple genders, with a preference for certain ones.
@Milky._.Way_4
Honestly if i speak to someone not lgbtq+ and tell them im bi they assume im attracted to boys and girls, but if i say im pan, they think im sexual attracted to frying pans or the Greek god Pan. 😭 there’s no way of winning.
@GamerMage2k-kl4iq
To me, as a Bisexual women, I like to consider the difference of Bisexuality and Pansexuality as this:
@I_have_rabiezz
Bi flag- pink, purple, and blue
@CherylKasson
I am nonbinary and bisexual. I started identifying as bisexual in 1992 and nonbinary in 2022. I continue to call myself bisexual despite not caring that much about gender, because that is the term with which I am most familiar and the one that most non-bi people recognize.
@drakewarnock1239
I don't really care about gender much, so I used to think I was bisexual. Then I thought I was pansexual. Then I thought I might be bisexual again. Then I realized I was demisexual and that's why I had such a hard time figuring out exactly who I was attracted to.
@peanutbutterex
As someone who is bi, this is really a great video! And I was unaware about the existence of the term pansexual throughout history. I think it is cool that both labels have evolved alongside each other, and I applaud you using definitions bisexual people use for bisexuality instead of those thot spread misinformation about bisexuality!!
