Short video of St George Street, Papatoetoe which my uncle recorded in 1987. Aside from the interesting cars, it shows the library and a dairy & service station where Bloom retirement apartments are today.
I used to walk every week, up and down this Rd on the way to Primary school back in the 80s and still remember that particular Dairy for selling Big Ben pies.
0:00 can't get much more 80s kiwi than that: white collar rugby jersey, stubbies, mullet and a glass bottle of full cream milk from the dairy as he gets into what is probably a Hillman Hunter.
kaia thompson. Why is it racist to make an observation regarding the transition of a locale from bearing the influence of one ethnicity to another? I’ve been to Papatoetoe many times and there are indeed a large number of residents from the Indian subcontinent. It’s an undeniable fact.
@@rubytuesday1345 I was infact referring to the top comment,I am aware of the higher Indian population but do I make snarky and bigoted comments about good and honest people who sadly are viewed as subhuman but fight to have the same rights as you and I? No, because I don't give a shit, miss Tuesday. Not entirely sure why you do though😳
